  1. Hi all, Recently I bought a new ultrawide monitor from LG (LG 29um68p to be precise) and I'm very happy with it. Even though I haven't been able to use it that often, since the adapter for my Macbook 12" had not been delivered yet UNTIL TODAY. I was very excited when I got it in the mail today, directly opened it and plugged it into my laptop and monitor, only to find out and be disappointed that the screen was acting up (Sort of flickering and/or screen tearing. Watch the video). I first thought it was the monitor, because I bought it second-hand. But after trying several laptops with multipe HDMI cables I came to the conclusion that the problem was limited to my laptop and adapter (I bought a cheap USB-C to HDMI and USB adapter, link below the post). Since I figured that it would most likely be the cheap hub from China. I contacted the seller but they haven't replied yet. I really would like to test different USB-C devices with the adapter to be 100% sure that it's the adapter, but I don't have any. Does anyone have an idea if it might be some settings that are set wrong or anything like that? And also if it's actually broken or that USB-C hubs usually have this problem? Thanks in advance! PS: plz don't destroy me for buying a macbook PS2: here's the link to the USB-C hub https://www.aliexpress.com/item/dodocool-7-in-1-USB-C-Hub-with-Type-C-Power-Delivery-4K-Video-HD-Output/32784093268.html PS3: I had to compress the video in order to upload it to here. So my apologies for the potato quality proof flickering720p.mov
  2. Mostly, of course it's more apparent in EDM, because those songs are usually bass heavy and more noticeable. It's not that the system volume is lowered. I applied an equalizer system wide, because my motherboard audio was lacking a whole bunch of bass. I don't know if that might be of any help
  3. Hi guys! So I've got this problem with my PC. I was listening to some music, when I noticed that every time there was some bass thumping, the volume lowered, but not system volume. As if Windows automatically balances the music. Really weird. I've updated all my audio drivers, tried tweaking with every single setting in the control panel, but nothing gave the desired result. Does anyone know what this might be? Thanks in advance!
  4. The PSU only has a 6+2pin PCIe connector, and I could only find a 2xMolex to 8pin and no adapter to 6pin, I used the 6+2pin to plug into the 6pin and the adapter to the 8pin
  5. I am not planning to keep this build for a longer period of time. I first built my PC with just integrated graphics and found a good deal for the GPU (for where I live). If this rig works for about a year then I'm already satisfied. I want to upgrade the GPU and PSU in the future (within a year hopefully, if money allows it xD)
  6. I recently posted a question in the Video Card section about a 2xMolex to 8pin connector for my GPU. I got mixed answers (ranging from "it's not supposed to be used like this but it will work" to "your PSU will explode and your GPU will die" basically). Other people told me it was the voltage and wattage that mattered the most and that if it was enough, it would work. So I did some research and I found that my GPU (MSI GTX 760 Twin Frozr Gaming) had a power consumption of 170W. Then I also found this other site which described all the different wattages per connector. It said that a 6pin delivers 75W, an 8pin 150W and another 75W for my PCIe slot, which would total to 300W of power to my GPU. Now this site also said that a Molex connector would deliver 25W for a 5+V rail or 60W for a 12+V rail. Since I'm using a Corsair CX430M and the box says the Molex connectors are on a 12V rail, it would be 120W combined for the adapter, right? Doing the calculation again (75W for my 6pin + 75W for my PCIe slot + 120W for my 2xMolex to 8pin connector) it would be a total of 270W, which is definitely above the rated power consumption of 170W and there might even be room for an overclock. Since I have no idea what all these numbers actually mean, can anyone correct me if I'm wrong? 7. I have already implemented the solution, and it's working fine. I was just wondering if it was safe to overclock
  8. Thank you for your answer!
  9. Oh hahaha, moet ik overheen hebben gelezen
  10. What happens if I do? Does the system crash or does it burn the power supply or anything?
  11. Oh okay. Did you use it for long? And did you do any overclocking on it?
  12. http://www.allekabels.nl/interne-voedingskabel/7032/1083722/interne-voedingskabel.html It's in Dutch though. I don't know if you're able to make much sense of it
  13. I recently built my first PC. I started out with a build that didn't have a graphics card. For the first month I ran off of the integrated graphics on my Pentium G3258. A couple of weeks later I found a deal where I could get a secondhand MSI GTX 760 Twin Frozer for 100 euros, which is quite a steal for where I live. But when I searched the parts for my PC I didn't take into consideration all the specifications my graphics card might need and I bought a Corsair CX430M. The wattage of the power supply is sufficient, but the connectors aren't: the GPU needs an 8pin and a 6pin, but my PSU only has one 8pin for PCIe power. I looked online and found a 2x Molex to a 6+2 pin adapter, so I bought it. I've used it for a month now and haven't ran into any issues yet. BTW: my CPU is overclocked from 3.2Ghz to 4.4Ghz with a core voltage of 1.323V (which is set to auto, I couldn't get a stable overclock with manual voltage to 1.2V) 1. Is this adapter safe to use? 2. If so, would I be able to do some overclocking on it? MSI Afterburner tells me the power usage is 60% under gaming load (give or take), but GPU utilization is 99% Thanks in advance!
  14. Hi guys, These questions might have been answered before, but I couldn't find them. So I'm going to ask them anyway. 1. Can I have 2 SSDs in Raid 0 as a boot drive and main programs drive? 2. Can I have 2 SSDs and 2 HDDs in a Raid 10 config with the 2 SSDs as boot drive and main programs and the 2 HDDs as a mirror of the 2 drives while also being able to store mass files (eg. video files and large games) 3. Can question 2 be done in a Hackintosh? Are these things possible? Maybe I'm not understanding Raid correctly? All I know about Raid configs was directly from Linus' Teckquickie vids.
  15. I was also thinking about a Fractal Design Node 804 and a mini ITX build in an In Win 901. I know the airflow and functionality in this case is horrible, but I was so amazed by the design of it. And thank your also giving me tips if I'm going with the Prodigy M.
