  1. So I have been looking around. Any thoughts on this kind of set up? I am still confused on the SSD and making sure that would be a suitable OS drive. Also kind of just hoping that power supply will suffice. Says that it is SLI ready which I do plan to upgrade to later and it has a higher power rating than was required by the GPU (GPU required 500w). Any other thoughts or suggestions would be very much appreciated.
  2. Thank DND. Hope your 2015 is going well so far
  3. Thanks for that note
  4. Hey, thanks for the reply - Need a lot of storage or do you already have something like a NAS ready? >I already have a couple of storage hard-drives that I can use. Although it does bring up the question on if you would recommend a new SSD for my boot up drive since both of my current drives not SSD. - Prefer Dual GPU now or do not mind saving up for another down the road? >I wouldn't mind saving up for one later down the road if a single GPU - OS/Peripherals? >Would like to run Windows. I am currently running off of Vista (ya I know). But I have also heard that Windows 8 is horrid for gamers and have been recommended to stick to Windows 7. Any thoughts on that? Peripheral wise I don't have anything too fancy outside of the Yamaha 5.1 Surround sound, but having it actually go from Stereo to Surround is not entirely that important. - Do I need to include a monitor and if so: IPS or TN and what resolution? >I would like to have the monitor included in the price. And from what I can gather, IPS would be better at displaying colors if I am right. Would like to go down the route with a better color display for the design work. Oh and yes, it is in USD @Archangel1994
  5. Hey guys, I have found the Linus Tech Tips on YouTube and decided to come check out this site. I was hoping I could get some build suggestions on a new rig I need. My current one decided to give up after 7 years of service. I need to get a build going for a PC that can be used primarily for 3D Modeling/Rendering as well a decent gaming machine and able to support Dual Monitors. I would like room for upgrades later down the line if at all possible so I can try to keep it going for another 7 or so years I am juggling the ideas of 4k vs. 1080p, SLI vs Single GPU, and DDR3 vs DDR4 for my purposes. Looking at a budget of ~2.5k at most. I do plan on keeping 1 of my current monitors, my keyboard, mouse and stereo system for the next system. Think you guys could help me out with this?
