  1. I was able to solve this by creating a custom resolution and using "CVT reduced blanking". Don't know, don't care, it works!
  2. Yes, I am plugging it into the graphics card. Also I don't believe this CPU has integrated graphics.
  3. This just gets me the same result ? 800x600 or 1024x768
  4. Unfortunately my NVIDIA Control Panel has no such check box.
  5. Hello everyone. So, I've recently built a new machine. Specs are as follows: EVGA RTX 2060 AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Gigabyte Aorus X570 Elite Wifi (rev. 1.0) 2x8GB DDR4 3200 HyperX RAM PowerSpec 650W 80+Gold PSU A M.2 PCI.E Gen4 NVMe drive I have installed the latest NVIDIA driver (442.50 at time of writing). I have the graphics card connected to my (1920x1080@60Hz) monitor via an HDMI cable. I already know that the cable and monitor are good by connecting it to my laptop; no resolution issues there. However, on this new machine, both Windows and the NVIDIA control panel only allow me to set the resolution to either 800x600 or 1024x768. I am currently on a clean Windows install. I used DDU and then installed the driver before connecting to the network. I have also found that the version of the driver Windows automatically installs has the same problem. Kind of at a loss here... any ideas?
  6. How do I get myself into these things... So I disabled it and it disappeared. Don't as why I thought this next step would be a good idea, but (after a reboot or two) I went into device manager and saw that the device was there but I couldn't like... enable it anything. So what did I do? That's right. I uninstalled it. Last time I ever press Disable or Uninstall on ANYTHING EVER. So now I can't even get the mic showing in device manager... *sigh* help! EDIT: Ok, if i have learned anything with this experience, it's that Windows loves to HIDE things from you. Show disabled microphones... re-enabled it. Now back to making it work with the earbuds... EDIT 2: Got it working. Had to use Realtek HD Audio Manager.
  7. So I have seen multiple laptops that have the microphone AND headphone jack in a single 3.5mm jack. What I want to know is is it possible to use the laptops built-in mic AND earbuds? Whenever I plug them in, the build-in mic is disabled... because it thinks I plugged in a mic... is there some way to switch it back to the built-in mic? Note that I am referring to the Razer Blade Stealth, but the same thing happened on my last laptop.
  8. Fair enough, but RMA will have to wait at least until the week right?
  9. I know you're right and I hate admitting that. But at the same time, I wonder if I'm just being too picky or if it's something that will wear away. Basically just trying to convince myself RMA isn't necessary. I mean it's not exactly frequent either. Idk. I'll wait over this weekend before making any decision to RMA... but... grrrrr...
  10. Alright so I just got my Razer Blade Stealth. So far I love it! There's only one minor thing that is kind of being a little annoying. It seems like if I press the trackpad buttons in a certain way, they get stuck. I can unstick them quite easily, but it's pretty annoying. Suggestions?
  11. No, I would rather kill myself than use OSX. I am almost sold on the Razer. Especially after watching Linus's videos about it. I am fairly convinced that it's specs will be AT LEAST a little more than enough for what I intend to do on it.
  12. I don't think I need a dedicated GPU. I'm doing text editing and internet browsing... My top priority really is the physical design of it. I like that the Razer is small, slim, sleep, etc. I can't believe it either honestly. I should feel bad
  13. See that's what I'm thinking. The Mac is SO overpriced... really not willing to drop that much on it. But do you think the Razer will suit my needs? (I really wish I could try one out before buying... to tell if I like it physically...)
  14. So I am looking to buy myself a nice laptop. I have two options in mind: a MacBook Pro or a Razer Blade Stealth. So, the Mac is uber-expensive and the Razer is relatively cheap. One of the most important things about this to me is the physical properties of the laptop. The Razer looks very similar to the Mac to me. A similar design. I guess my only complaint about the Razer is that the bezels look a bit large. As far as specs go, to put it simply: the Mac would be a quad-core i7 and 16 GB of RAM, and the Razer would be a dual-core i7 and 8 GB of RAM. Now, I intend to install linux on it when I get it. I am going to use almost solely for programming (which means a text editor and a terminal, I probably won't even use a fancy IDE all that often). So I think the Razer would actually suit my performance needs for what I'm doing pretty decently. As for size and resolution, the smaller it is the better and the Razer is already a resolution upgrade for me compared to what I have on my desktop, so it's definitely good enough. And the 128 GB SSD in the Razer would be more than enough; linux takes next to nothing and the extra ~100 GB would be for my stuff. Obviously putting linux on the Mac could be a little more complex, but my friend did it so I'm sure I could. I guess my only real concerns are: 1. is it going to suit my performance needs (i THINK...) and 2. the physical properties of it. I know I want it to be physically like the MacBook (learned that from my friend's). It does appear to be very similar but I haven't seen/felt one irl so I'm not sure. So, what do you guys think? I mean, for 999$ I really think the Razer might be right for me.
