  1. How many PCI slots you got? try moving em around, and double check the manual to make sure SLI is available in those slots.
  2. I'm gonna go ahead and assume your buying new, i would say EVGA is good, but avoid the high end ones like the CLASSIFIED or kingpin or how ever it is. they're stupidly expensive for not that much more performance. in the classifieds case, its more expensive for a louder card that really should come with a backplate but makes you buy it for 20 more bucks... For me, that price range (450ish) red team deserves at least a look
  3. You can look at it this way, you probably wont notice the difference of the SLI in the main games you play, assuming they take it well, so are you ready to play ONE game better for 200$? if so i tip my master race hat to you sir. Keep in mind SLI is a path of small annoying bumps, and god damn do they get bothersome, but for me its worth it. just be sure that card doesn't have alot of miles on it, as second hand cards tend to.
  4. As some one who just made the same switch albeit dual cards, its alright. the nvidia driver package comes with alot of shit you done really need, and it feels like it downloads something every day. otherwise its alright, you'll notice a little improvement in AAA titles but normal games it aint huge. Keep in mind if you wanna go higher but stay green, upgrade the card, cause SLI kinda sucks.
  5. The Zotacs are sexy, and the straight black/ carbon fibery look may go well with your set up, but the best fit would be classy or strix and as stated, stay away from strix. also from an availability point of view, good luck finding any higher end evga not sold out, where as the Zotacs just always seem available somewhere.
  6. We have almost identical set ups, but i have dual classys. Dont fight with sli, its not worth it. sell the classy for 400-450 to make some of the ti cost back.
  7. second vote for the 390, cards been killing it in the market, and the improved bits over the 200 series make it worth the money, unless you can get a killer deal on a 290x
  8. Alright here's what i would go with, all prices are American newegg so sorry if wrong country. 1080 monitor : 179 Fractal Arc XL: 139 ( no idea how long MB is) Corsair RM750: 119 R9 390 : 339 Total 776 that should handle 1080 no problem, if you wanna loose the monitor and stick with yours, grab an ssd.
  9. Ok getting Top end cards wont work, not only does that case have shit airflow, hes on a really low res AND hes only got 650W 200 of which go to the processors. If your willing to do a little system building, id say a new case and power supply will do you well.
  10. hmmmmm this is a pretty rare situation, before we start throwing names at you, what kind of case is this in? I'm curious for the airflow perspective Also how many watts does dual xeon pull?
  11. Kick ass card but power hungry and long as hell, keep that in mind
  12. If you don't mind me asking, whats the budget for GPU and monitor?
  13. As someone who just switched to 980 SLI and has 4k, SLI is a serious pain if you wanna game on it. most major titles can use SLI no problem but its the cheapo games on steam that make you have to switch SLI off, which means closing ALL programs... That being said, no single card solution will run major titles in 4k and dual 980's do it great. Personally id go 980ti and not deal with the hassle of bad SLI support and awful 4k scaling that most games have. settle for 1440p for now and get a second ti when you can A: afford it or B: more things support it.
  14. Some games like it some don't. I find its mostly triple A titles that don't freak out whereas the sub 10$ games on steam cant really use it too well. Actual examples for me were Witcher 3 took it like a champ, but Dirty Bomb or Heroes of the Storm freaked the fuck out.
  15. To recommend a card we need more info. Are you 4k? What size is your build? do you want to crossfire or SLI in the future? We gotta know more because there really is no end all card in the market. Even ignoring performance as a whole some people will take a 5 fps hit for a card that looks god damn bad ass. Ohh and BTW Nvidia drivers aint that grand either, took me a week to make an SLI set up work compared to plug and play on crossfire
