  1. Still on the look out for a rig , with black Friday coming up I'm sure there will be a few deals, please post any that you come across!
  2. Thanks . more than able to wait - like i say it's for Xmas so still a good amount of time to wait and search around.
  3. Looking a for a deal on a pre built systems , needs to be able to play fortnite , valorant and minecraft ( and no doubt more game as time goes on) at 1080p highish settings . there is a budget of about $1000 Canadian ( which i know doesn't far these days) I would be more than happy to build it myself how ever im in the UK , but my nephew lives in Vancouver- so a pre- built is the way forward. It's going to be a Xmas present to him so there is still a few months to go. so we ( my bother and I ) are on the look out starting now. i thinking Black Friday may be the best time to find a deal , how ever please post a link if you know or come across any in the mean time please share your findings whether it's from the likes of Amazon, best buy, Newegg or some other PC builders. Thank you Andrew
  4. Cheers Ras , looks like some investigation is a foot.
  5. Hi , just got a 3080 ti FE and was wondering if the fans stay still at idle ? i had the 3070 FE and they still .( not moving ) Thanks
  6. That's what got me thinking , i know manufacturers do this , so it must be for a reason ( expansion ) think ill take a tiny bit of air out just to be on the safe side .. and yea 6 year is good going , it might not look the prettiest AIO but (in Jayz words ) it is built like a tank lol
  7. I have an old AIO (Enermax liqtech and it's 6 year old now ) , and have noticed my temps rising a bit , so decided that though permeation the AIO need "topping up" so after removing the AIO from the PC and removing the cold plate - topping it up as much i as can ( no air bubble any more ) and filling it right up the level of where the cold plate connects to the pump ) , i refitted the cold plate and connected it back into the PC , ran the PC for a while and the temps where so much better ( 10 degrees lower ) but it got me thinking . should i have filled it all the way the top or should i left a tiny bit of air in the loop for expansion ?
  8. Would it make a difference if i was to use RAM that rated at 3200Mhz or ram that is 3000 but set to 3200Mhz in the BIOS ? i have two pc's one is running a set of 3200Mhz ( ryzen build ) and a (intel build) which has 3000Mhz but it's running at 3200Mhz . i use the intel build on a 4k TV , and was thinking about changing the ram over, would it make a difference putting in the 3200Mhz ram or just carry on running the 3000 set to 3200MHz ?
  9. Any one know of a detail way of using NVflash things seemed to have changed in the way it has to used from when i last used it ( which was a good few years ago )
  10. I updated the BIOS on my Palit 3080 and have noticed that im now roughly 100mhz lower than i was out of the box .. is there any way i can flash the old BIOS back ( yea i did save the old version )??? i use an other forum , and a few other the guys on there have the same card as i do and there clocks are running roughly 100mhz higher than mine , the pics are a screen shot form the new version after the update link to other guys clocks https://www.avforums.com/threads/nvidia-ultimate-countdown-rtx-3000-or-something-else.2309231/post-28814900 my apologies if im not allowed to link an other forum ... The only thing i have changed is fitted a waterblock ..
  11. Got the card and fitted the waterblock and back plate ( bought it in the end - as the standard back plate on the stock card was hitting 60+ in some parts and didn't want to leave it naked ) been playing a game and temps are a lot higher than i thought there would be 56*c and that's just playing BF4 that can't be right is it ? only the GPU is in the loop with a 240 rad and 100mm res running stock clocks ( CPU is on AIO ) my last GPU -1080ti (OC'd) was only hitting high 40's on all games and the one before that 1070ti was about the same temp is it normal for the 3080 under water to hit temps that high ?
  12. LOL , yes i do , it was just the heat i worried about , but doesn't seem to be an issue . Thanks
  13. Not a bad idea that , ( sure i have some laid around from an other project i did ) TBH , the backplate isn't needed at all as the PC is tucked away behind closed doors ( rig is used in my main living room with a 4K tv )
  14. So i won't have anything to worry about with the back of VRAM's getting hot and nothing removing the heat from them ?
  15. Might have chance to get one of these and will want to watercool it and will fit the EK version block for the card . how ever do i need to the backplate as well ? I know the back of the VRAMs get hot -- but hot enough to warrant buying the backplate so that the heat will transfer ? I have WC most of my GPU's and made my own backplates ( acrylic ) just trying to save a few ££/$$
  16. No not over heating ,but even while under load the CPU will reach 85+c running aida64 the fans will not increase at all !! surely their should increase ? making a fan curve in the BIOS makes no difference at all . thats what im trying to do , ( low speed while idling and ramp up while gaming above 50c )
  17. Yes all fans are plugged in to the 4 pin fan headers , ( how ever their connected with a splitter) two to the sys fan 1 and two to the sys fan 2 fans are the corsair sp120 PWM's yes the bios is the latest from MSI ..
  18. Is this issue with "all" b450 mobo or just MSI's ? is there a fix for my MSI mobo ? ( work around ?)
  19. Is that b450 MAX ( or standard b450 ) mobo ? Might return this one and pick up a b450 ( none MAX and not MSI ) and just do the bios update on it , too get it to work with the 3600
  20. Yes all set to PWM , Even if i set them back to default , their only running at about 40/50% at best under load might try and flash back to the previous BIOS see if that makes any difference ..
  21. Built a 3600 and MSI b450m mortar max system over the weekend , and have noticed that i don't have any "real" control over my fanseven setting a fan curve in the BIOS has no real effect as to how their should be responding !PWM set to all sys fans in the BIOS , but only seem to be spinning at half speed ( i know they'll go faster - same case and fans as my last rig )anyone else noticed that they fans ain't doing what they should be doing ?MSI commander pro , seems to work ( but after a restart i have readjust them to were i want them again ( which isn't convenient at all )speedfan - doesn't work ( too out dated )
  22. Funny you should bring this up , i have just graded to ryzen and tried overclock the GPU . and it worked , haven't had much testing but at the moment its +115 +500 on the mem the only thing i can think of is the last mobo (z97 ) just didn't want to play nicely how ever my new b450m is happy to let me OC the zotac .
  23. OK thanks guys , i knew about the XMP , just wasn't sure if i "needed" to changes the timings or not , i want to keep the PC as stock as possible , so it will less likely cause problems for my friend , who's not that clued up on these kind of things .. (overclocking or changing the ram timings ) thanks again ?
