InTechsicated's Achievements

  1. I also got it. Its not bad but honestly I think Awakening was better, but that said I am really curious to find what the third campaign is all about.
  2. It sounds like a software or settings issue. The GPU is not what tells the monitors to go to sleep per say.
  3. I have a comment earlier in the thread that explains my use of freesync. My wife uses a computer with an r9 390 and Acer Freesync monitor.
  4. Fair enough, I appreciate the info. I'm just really disappointed that Freesync is not nearly the big deal it was made out to be, and I can only assume that Gsync being even more expensive is only a bigger let down.
  5. Because Gsync is overpriced and I have zero complaints with the monitor or its performance. Plus the access to multiple inputs is essential for the kind of workflow I have at my desk. Nearly all gsync monitors are limited to a single input DP.
  6. I have a PC that utilizes Freesync BTW, my wife games on an R9 390 and an Acer Monitor that supports freesync. I see no difference between her gaming experience and my own.
  7. http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/adaptive-vsync/technology
  8. That did not address my question at all.
  9. I recently bought the ASUS MG278, its a 27' 1440p 144hz TN panel with Freesync; however, I currently have an Nvidia GPU. So I went into the Nvidia control panel and enabled the adaptive sync and I cannot tell the difference between AVsync and Freesync. So is Freesync and Gsync just the marketed terms for an already available feature with newer monitors and GPU's (It would explain why there is so little literature on Adaptive sync) or I am completely wrong in assuming they would try to cash in on the new VESA standard.
  10. The Samsung 24' PLS panels aren't bad at all and usually run around $150, or $130 if you live near a Sam's Club. Or check out the Asus VE248, I gamed on one for a while and loved it.
  11. There is currently a reference 290 on Newegg for just over 200. It would be loud and hot but will easily beat any other card at that price point. Otherwise I would recommend the 960.
  12. With 750w the 390 would be better performance.
  13. what PSU do you have? wattage wise.
  14. Most modern cases have drive bays that can be rearranged as needed, that being GPU's that are above average in size also tend to become well known for having that trait, IE the Asus Strix cards. So unless your case is tiny I don't think you should worry about anything beyond the cards listed dimensions.
  15. You misunderstand, I agree that they are equally viable now. The thing you have to consider is a year from now, two years from now, so on. A z97 or z170 chipset provide far better long term potential than an FX-6300 and accompanying motherboard and ram. If you go with the intel options you can upgrade just the CPU to an i5 or i7 in the future whereas with AMD the upgrade path is already very limited and I doubt that next year's Zen CPU's will run on the 3 year old motherboards that a 6300 runs on. So, if you were building TODAY it would be foolish. Failure to account for the future is something that can cost a consumer a lot of money.
