  1. @Gokul_P I have updated the list using your recomendations, could you check it quickly one last time for me? Much thanks, Sam
  2. Budget (including currency): €2000-2500 Country: Belgium Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Hogwarts Legacy, Valorant, League of Legends, new AAA games Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): 1440p 144Hz, upgrading from the following list: Bitfenix Aurora Samsung 970 plus 250GB Corsair RMx 650 Intel 9700k Corsair Vengeance 16GB 3000MHz C15 WD Black 1TB Be Quiet! Pure Rock MSI MAG Z390 Tomahawk Gigabyte Aurorus RTX 2060 6G Hey guys, A friend of mine wants to upgrade his systsem (specs shown above) and I'm helping him pick out the correct parts. I'm assuming we can keep the case, PSU and his storage and replace CPU, motherboard, cooler, GPU and RAM. I used tweakers.net and already tried making two systems, one AMD based and one Intel based (see attached screenshots). I'm using the non x and k variants respectively, as I know the amd non x variant can be tuned using PBO to basically match its x counterpart, while keeping the prices in check. I am not finding any reviews or guides on the 13700 and I think the 13700k requires a hefty cooling setup, which I prefer not to do (would like to stick with aircooling, prefer a good Noctua cooler). Questions I have: 1) Is the intel 13700 as power hungry as the 13700k? 2) How do the intel 13700 and the AMD 7700 compare in terms of gaming performance? 3) Would you agree with my assesment of keeping the case, PSU and storage? 4) I also added an extra 2TB of new flash storage, which is to become his main boot drive; I used to prefer samsung, but with the recent 980 pro news, I'm not super sure which one to pick? 5) Do you have any other suggestions with the build I have put together, am I missing other key points? Thanks already, Sam
  3. Hi everyone, I have a Samsung LE55A956 (LE55A956D1MXXQ) from 2008 and it held up just fine until a couple of months ago. There are horizontal lines every couple of pixels (regardless of input source), which fade and disappear around the center of the screen (as shown in the picture). I have already tried upgrading and downgrading the firmware, resetting to factory settings and playing around with all of the image settings, but that did not resolve the issue. The questions I have: 1) Has anyone else seen this behavior, what causes/caused this? 2) Is there a way to resolve this issue? 3) Does this mean the panel is failing? If yes, does anyone know how long it might still live? Much thanks in advance and have a nice weekend, Sam
  4. The issue was resolved by changing the router to function as an acces point (which fixed the problem) and changing it back to function as a router. That magically fixed the issue. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
  5. Hi everyone, I am trying to use Disney+ and other local streaming services (VRT nu, Telenet TV) on my chromecast with google TV and my phone (Samsung Galaxy S10e). They are both connected to the same wifi network and are both unable to connect the respective apps to internet. Netflix and Youtube are unaffected and work flawlessly, the Telenet TV app loads incredibly slowly; making it unusable and VRT nu and Disney+ do not load whatsoever. EDIT: My local shopping app (Delhaize) also loads very slowly/ almost not at all. When using my computer, which is also connected to the same network, and using the browser-based variants, everything works as it should. The windows 10 apps for Netflix and Disney+ also work. If I connect my phone using mobile data, everything works as well. I'm staying in a student room, so I do not have acces to the modem settings. I am using a HUAWEI WiFi AX3 as my router/acces point. The internet from my student room is from the same company as my mobile data company (Telenet). Where could the problem be and how might I be able to fix it? Are there other things I need to test? Much thanks in advance, Sam
  6. Hi everyone, I'm upgrading a friends pc to a Ryzen 5 5600x and an AMD rx 6800. I would like to know if the power supply he has (the corsair RM550 from 2014) is good enough, or that it would be best to replace it with another. The main thing that makes me wonder is the fact that there is only one cable from the PSU that would be powering both 8 pin connectors, but also the unit itself (Wattage and quality). The follow-up question: If the psu does not suffice anymore, would the Seasonic GX-650 be a fine replacement? He does have the budget available if needed, but of course it would be nice to save a buck where possible. Thanks in advance, Sam
  7. That's a good idea, then I have one final question; the website mentions it (the SF600) does have shorter cables, is that an issue for the H210, or will that work out better because the cables would actually fit nicer?
  8. Thanks for the reply, I should have clarified a little bit better, he switches between parents every week, but that is only going to be up until June (because he's going to move out), so the transport part is not extremely decisive, but rather a nice to have for the time being. Those cases also don't seem to be available easily in Belgium. Is the system looking alright for everything else? Thanks again, Sam
  9. Budget (including currency): 1100 euro Country: Belgium Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: League of Legends, Valorant (currently, but open to AAA titles in future because not yet able to play on his current Macbook), basic rendering for interior design purposes Other details Starting with a fresh build, targeting 120Hz @ 1440p for esports titles and 60Hz for the other titles. Buying the parts this week, already own an Nvidia RTX 3060 MSI Ventus 2x so the system needs to be in line with this gpu. I am building this computer for a friend and have put together the following partslist, which he could ideally order from one store (alternate.be) or not too many bigger stores which are available in Belgium. He would like to be able to transport it somewhat easily, therefor I thought a mini-ITX based system would be a good fit. EDIT: I looked for cases with him and he liked the look of the H210i and said he would be careful with the window, even though that obviously is not ideal for transport. I would like to have wifi integrated into the motherboard, but am open to switching to an Intel based system as well. I was mainly wondering if the parts are balanced correctly and seem like a good fit for each other, or if I should take an alternate choice for some of the parts. At least 1TB of solid state storage is needed in the system. Much thanks in advance, Sam
  10. I'm not sure what exactly happened, when I tried to reconnect it a long time ago, it would not show up anymore (using its USB connection). I don't know if it was a current spike, software issues, had been dropped without me knowing it, or something else... I was afraid of that as well, I assume I do have the raw data, but being able to put it back in the correct order and somehow knowing which data went missing at the same time does seem impossible. That's what I was thinking as well. Thanks already, Sam
  11. Hi everyone, I've got an external hard drive which malfunctioned a long time ago, but now that I have a desktop I'm able to connect it back up to the computer directly to check where it went wrong. While doing so, I don't find any partition using the normal ways and also not with easeus partition recovery. Using easeus data recovery I am able to recover 320 GB worth of files, which I think is about the amount of files I lost a long time ago. However, the files that got recovered are mostly .SWF files and some .3DS and .EPS files. The original files on the hard drive were all put into a gigantic .rar file (younger me is to blame for that) if I recall correctly. The hard drive itself seems to be in good condition and nothing has been written to it since it crashed, nor has a new partition been created. The question is if it is possible to use the recovered .SWF and other files to recreate the original .rar file, or if it is possible to somehow recover the original partition? If those are both impossible, where do I go from here to try to recover the data on this drive (company that I could contact, ...)? (I live in Belgium, Europe) Much thanks in advance, Sam
  12. I have got an old Denon AVR-2700, which does not start up anymore. When I press the power button, it shows all of its lights burning, but is stuck there, not doing anything else. (Picture added) How can I get it to function again? Thanks in advance, Sam
  13. I would suggest the Lenovo ideapad S540-15IWL 81SW001SMH, or upgraded versions of this model. https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/1403644/lenovo-ideapad-s540-15iwl-81sw001smh/specificaties/ 800 eur, i5-8265U, 8GB RAM (upgradeable), 256GB SSD (upgradeable), GTX 1650 Max-Q, 70Wh battery Will do very fine with all her needs, but slightly over budget. I can get it at a student discount in Belgium, so that might also be the case in Germany.

  15. Hi everyone I'm trying to improve my home network, which is currently using powerlines (500Mbps ones, but they only have 100Mbps port). These powerlines worked really well in some places, but not so great at all in other places. For this reason I decided to order new powerline adaptors (https://www.coolblue.be/nl/product/698406/d-link-dhp-701av-geen-wifi-2000-mbps-2-adapters.html). After some testing I came to the conclusion that these work very well in the places my original adaptors worked well, but were struggling once again in the places my original ones were struggling (I am still able to send these back, so that is what I might do). I am not able to get Ethernet cables in the places I want to. I do have coax running to every room I need, that's why looked into MoCa adaptors. While looking into them, I found it very hard to find those adaptors (I'm located in Belgium). The ones I found so far are these: 1) https://www.amazon.de/Yitong-Technology-Koaxialkabel-Starter-Set-YTMC-51N1-M2/dp/B01CZFO5W6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1512489770&sr=8-1&keywords=moca 2) https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/461878/hirschmann-multimedia-over-coax-(moka-32).html Are there other ones available, or is one of these two options a good solution? Is moca the best solution for me, or are there other powerline adaptor options that could work where my current ones don't work? Thanks in advance Sam
