  1. Thanks huys ill be taking the board out when i put in the cpu anyway i just wanted to put my board in my case seeing as its just sitting on my desk anyway why not something pretty in there but i was curious if it was important
  2. im just curious if its just for ease to put the cpu into your mobo before installing the mobo or there are reasons to do to like the cpu or board shorting after bthe board has touched the standoffs the ntouching the cpu. i just started building my and the parts are coming in and i would like to do them as they come so i want to put my mobo in before my cpu arrives but is it safe. is my basic question.
  3. Oh i also plan on getting a 144hz moniter aswell perhaps maybe 4k in a year or so when theyre cheaper.
  4. http://au.pcpartpicker.com/user/beadzo/saved/ZQQhP6 Really want confirmation that this is 1. Compatable together 2. Overclockable (no MoBo restriction 3. Not too overkill on power, i do plan to go 970sli and cpu water cooler so im getting the power now ratehr than having to replace it later. First build be gentle. Was going to go with the amd fx-8350 and r9 280x but after hearing about intel being better over and over again most of it was just fanboying but i just wasnt sure if i needed the 8 cores for games. Any suggestions are much appreciated and some tips would be appreciated too.
  5. Yea the 970 MoBo is what i chose thanks guys its pretty much the perfect colour too cheers.
  6. http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/4YZ2ZL nvm found one i like i was messing around with boards which is why the z97 which i why i asked for people to add suggestions ^.^
  7. Forgot this http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/jCWrP6 just smack a suitable motherboard in the at your leisure.
  8. can someone get me a motherboard that supports overclocking, sli for future pair of 970's, works with the fx 8350, is 150-200AUD and is either red or black preferably red. It would be immensly helpful
  9. true but on most sites shipping and when you buy locally its more expensive
  10. if you can find an extra 30-40 get this for sure http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-video-card-04gp42974kr on top of your gpu budget
  11. AND the power supply is to alow overhead for future upgrades so dont worry about the overkill there
  12. http://au.pcpartpicker.com/user/beadzo/saved/7MQhP6 This will probably what i go with i like the new case i've picked you've made a good point about the os and op drive so i scrapped them ill just get the os on boxing day and i've opted for the cleaner case as its smaller but fits what i need and accomodates the future sli i have planned the g skill isn't so bad im ok with it i like the red and i might get some led strips in the future also either white or red oh and ill stick the os on a bootable thumb drive but you probably already guessed that haha
  13. Ok great thanks, for learning purposes what is the differnce between the two
