2 monitors on 1 HDMI port on a laptop?
shazaam replied to shazaam's topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
For future generations: 1. HDMI splitters only mirror the image. They don't give independent viewing. 2. There is a device with onboard graphics: USB 3.0 auf Dual HDMI Adapter - 1x 4K 30Hz & 1x 1080p - Externe Video- und Grafikkarte - USB-A auf HDMI Dual Monitor Display Adapter - . Works on any USB 3 (DP or not) and gives you 2 extra monitor with independent viewing. 3. USB-C port needs to have the DP icon next to it. It indicates wether or not it support video over usb. -
2 monitors on 1 HDMI port on a laptop?
shazaam replied to shazaam's topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
I use an asus S510U and actually has 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C i use an usb-c to hdmi dongle and windows says: usb not recognized but if i plug it into my samsung s20fe, i get image on the monitor (samsung dex or whatever) https://www.asus.com/us/laptops/for-students/vivobook/asus-vivobook-s15-s510/techspec/ -
How can I get 2 monitors ona a laptop with 1 HDMI? is there some sort of splitter like an internet switch? Can a laptop with usb-c 3.1 gen1 do FHD via usb-c hdmi dongle? thank you in advance.

Right. I'll keep that in mind.

Hello cyber-fellas, we have an old PC that crawls and needs an upgrade. It packs an i3 530 with 2 GB DDR3, some HDD that ran 24/7 for about 4 years. It has Windows XP SP3 I'm thinking that a SSD would be the obivous hardware upgrade, but I've heard that XP is not recommended, since it doesn't have TRIM. Upgrading the OS costs a lot (almost the price of 3 SSDs; Linux is a NO). Do we have to worry about it? Is it OK to clone XP to the SSD? Is there anything more to do? I'm thinking of getting Intel 535 120 GB, for the 5 year warranty.

print ?How to share USB printer through wireless router
shazaam replied to shazaam's topic in Peripherals
That is correct: there is nothing there saying 'print server'. So it can't be done? That's what i don't get: why is file sharing so different to printer sharing. I mean.. it can manage tens of MB of data both ways (PC <-> USB HDD) but it can't open a communication channel with the printer? -
print ?How to share USB printer through wireless router
shazaam replied to shazaam's topic in Peripherals
@noisebomb44 Did you attach the printer to the router with ethernet cable? meaning the printer has ethernet capabilities? -
The router in question is: Sapido Gigabit GR297N Super High Power Cloud. It has 2 USB 2.0 ports. http://www.sapido.com.tw/EN-new/product-gr297n-P01.htm I've been told that router doesn't have print server. Is that an obligatory requirement? Can't I use it if the printer is connected to the router vis USB? Attached USB HDD works; it even has some cloud functions. Is the printer sharing different?

Oh, I see. Seems like I haven't been all that informative. The FTP server belongs to the hosting company. I've started a ticked with them, but so far no answer. Thank you for your input.
-
1. Yes, I have found folder permission through CPanel. 2. Where can I find the differential backup? Thank you.
-
Hello, we need a FTP folder that many people can have access to but, only a few can upload, delete, modify files and the others can only view. The second requirement is that every modified file must be saved under a different version. How can this be done?

Reference 980 TI is 238W, so its safe to assume a 250W for those factory overclocks. 2 of them will be 500W plus another 50W because of SLI (i've seend this in multi GPU mining stations where each GPU added on a 2nd PSU, increases consumption on first PSU with no component added on the first PSU). The CPU and mobo go for 100 at least (NO OC,, but hey.. 4790K is going at 4.2-4.4 GHz) + other components (RAM, HDD, vents etc) another.. lets say 50, totaling at about 700W. For that you sould add another 25% to that number so that you fall in the safe load range of the PSU. If you're getting too close to it's maximum, you'll wear it down.. so.. what you get is 875W. Get something close to that, preferably higher and GOLD. Don't be cheap!!! you're spending under 10% on something that can damage everything. As for the GPU, go for the cheapest with good temperatures. The G1 has good cooling and good VRM (that ensures good and safe power to the GPU).

Hello, im buying a new charger for my new laptop (this one: http://www.emag.ro/laptop-2-in-1-lenovo-ideapad-yoga-500-14-cu-procesor-intelr-coretm-i5-6200u-2-30ghz-skylaketm-14-full-hd-ips-touch-screen-4gb-500gb-8gb-sshd-nvidia-geforce-920m-2gb-microsoft-windows-10-home-white-80r5003eri/pd/D16LVYBBM/?prod_CMP-39_667_6369 ) The charger says: 20V @ 3.25A. Will a charger with different specs work? 19V... giving 90W? will that charge faster?
