  1. Hello everyone, I have set-up a Synology 8-bay NAS to centralize everything (including videos) However, my Itunes videos (mostly in m4v) does not work ether nas to pc or nas to ipad. I assumed that it was due to the M4V extension.... however my m4v videos that are NOT from itunes and also on the NAS seems to work... im stumped on the situation... and will be troubleshooting more ideas today... EDIT: May Container or Video Codec? (per itunes video)
  2. If I went with a NAS (with your example, the WD My Cloud) does it have the same functionality for backing up computers (including OS) as a WIndows Home Server? Since backing up my laptop encase of an emergency is the main priority. Automatic backup over network and remote network.
  3. aside from the LinusTechTips videos, I've been looking into backing up my laptop(s)(including OS) to a NAS server/device. I would like to see other people's opinion between.... Windows Home Server (computer tower) vs NAS device (ex. Synology Disk Station) note: I am aiming for RAID-5 also I got a few other questions... 1. Do you personally use WHS and/or NAS device, also what RAID do you recommend? 2. Is it possible to put in a NEW empty(no OS) hard drive(s) into a laptop and manage to get a backed-up Windows OS image from the server? If not, would you use other methods, like using a flash drive between the backup server/device and that "empty" laptop? 3. If I am using Windows Home Server, what happens when I go out with the laptop that is supposed to be backed up incrementally with the server? and is it possible for automatic remote backup? *subjected to editing*
  4. Its a Dell L702x laptop. The disk is initialized with a simple volumn.... However there is no improvement..... I am on Samsung's "Samsung Magician", When I connect by USB it works.... However when I connect eSATA (ether first or second to USB) the SSD disappears from the computer. Also, when I connect the eSATA to the SSD and NOT the computer it still disappears
  5. My brand new Samsung 840 EVO SSD is inserted in a NexStar CX Hard Drive Enclosure. The problem is that, the Enclosure can connect with USB 2.0x2 (in my case 3.0x2) but the eSATA completely screws up. The instructions (the final step) states "When using eSATA, please make sure to connect the eSATA cable first BEFORE the Y-cable (USB). I have followed this step however it hasnt proved its point. I have attempted and completed the following -driver updates -constant unplugs/resets etc. -checked BIO
