  1. Hi All, I am looking to join the Ultrawide ranks - however, my budget is only around £400. I have my eyes on the following monitors: Cooler Master GM34-CWQ (currently £320) Acer Nitro XV345CURV (currently (£350) Gigabyte M34WQ (currently £380) I have a strong preference to the USB PD Port rather than the KVM in terms of functionality. So, if I were to purchase any of the above monitors, which one would you recommended? Iam open to other monitors that can be purchased within the budget - though unless it's a steal, I would prefer not used. Thanks!
  2. Be that as it may, it doesn't make it right on the dint that others do it. As a leader in the industry, I would actually expect Razer to be better than smaller companies. There is a reason the first of the 3 R's is Reduce and Razer should be doing their part. Also it's not like we still don't have the option to send back the item instead. As far as I can tell, the option is either return the item or break it yourself. Finally, as I have already established what they have instructed us to do would not prevent reselling. So where is the common sense?
  3. I'm a bit late to this topic but Razer UK have asked my girlfriend to do the exact same thing for the exact same headphone with the exact same defect! I genuinely could not believe what they are asking her to do. In our case, they have only instructed us to destroy the optional 3.5mm cable that came with the headset. Something that is easily replaceable and would not prevent resell anyway. I really don't want to cave in and break something for no reason. I would rather see Razer take back the item then referbish it - anything which isn't creating e-waste. This policy seems so tone deaf. What did you do in the end?
  4. OK so after a reboot of the system, plus Heaven, the gpu reached the speed expected on the Gamer profile of 1244mhz (though the speed was inconsistent). But when I put it in the OC profile, it dropped to under a 1GHz... Very odd.
  5. Hi all! My girlfriend has a Gigabyte RX570 Gaming (rev 1.0). However, after fitting a new PSU in her system today, I noticed that the GPU was running at sub 1GHz clock speed on the gaming profile with the 3D Mark score being lower than expected, and even lower when using the OC profile. The power draw will not go above 90W in its stock configuration and only when using Radeon settings to allow the GPU 50% more power, did the GPU get even close to the clock speed it was supposed to be at. As far as I can see, there are no thermal issues and I have tried both DDU and reflashing with the correct BIOS - neither seemed to make any difference. The system specs are as follows: Intel Core i7-4790 16GB DDR3 1600MHz Gigabyte RX570 Gaming (rev 1.0) Asus Z97 Pro Gamer Corsair TX650M Thank in advance for any advice or time given!
  6. Yup, running the most up-to-date BIOS (stable, not BETA). And yes, I also suspect its the board - just odd that all of this stemmed from getting the RX570 Though I guess its not impossible that the old PSU caused the motherboard to develop a fault which fried the RAM? Yup, checked all of that a bunch. When it previously happened I took the bored out of the chassis and looked at every possible connection including reseating the RAM. This is true. The board had been sat doing nothing with my friend for years. So who knows... might have just been real unlucky with the timings.
  7. Nope, the RAM was always left at stock speeds. No overclocking was performed on the system.
  8. Hi All, I recently bought a bunch of used computer parts/borrowed some to make a PC for my S/O. The PC seemed to work fine for a few weeks, however, the GPU (GTX 550Ti) we were using was very old and pretty bad, so we bought a used RX570. This worked fine for a couple of hours, but then came the need to restart the PC in safe mode to uninstall the Nvidia drivers. The PC failed to reboot and appeared to get stuck in a boot loop with the motherboard pointing at the RAM as the issue (see my previous post here). The end result is that all 4 sticks of DDR3 in the system were dead. My theory at the time is that the cheap PSU (650W) had surged on reboot with the increased power draw of the RX570. So I donated my EVGA 600W PSU (which has ran both an R9 Fury and a GTX 1080) and bought some more RAM. The problem seemed resolved. Fast forward to last night and the PC has a Windows update. The PC attempts to restart to install said updates but like before, the PC doesn't manage to post. Again the LED indicating a RAM issue is shown. Today I attempted to use the RAM in my working PC, but the PC fails to post with either module inserted. I assume this lot is dead too. I'm at a loss to what is causing this issue. The next most obvious thing is the motherboard - but all of these issues seems to have occurred after installing the RX570. What do we think the cause is? The system specs are as follows: Intel Core i5-3570k (RIP) 2x4GB 1800MHz DDR3 HyperX Fury Gigabyte AMD RX570 600W EVGA PSU Asus P8Z77-V LX Any help is greatly appreciated.
  9. So, yes. it was bad memory - thanks. But whatever it was that caused this, killed all 4 DIMMs. My assumption is that this lies with the PSU rather than the motherboard?
  10. Hi all, So, yesterday I bought a used Gigabyte RX 570 for my girlfriends PC. The PC booted fine a couple of times in which time i had installed the latest AMD WHQL drivers and ran 3D Mark to verify the GPU - all is good. I then begin to install the Gigabyte software (Auros Engine the the RGB software). I also open Radeon software change a couple of settings including reducing the power limit to -20% (electricity is expensive and the RX570 is more powerful than needed for the games she plays) and turning on Radeon Chill. I then download DDU so as to clean the system of the Nvidia drivers which would have still be installed. This is where my pain starts. I open the Advanced startup settings so that I can boot into Safe Mode for DDU. However, the PC never manages to restart. Instead I am presented with a blank screen with no post to be seen. The only clue I have is the red, flashing DRAM LED on the motherboard. See here: https://streamable.com/2j9uig The specs are as follows: Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-V LX CPU: Intel Core i5 3570k RAM 12GB of DDR3 @ 1333MHz (currently a missmatch of sticks) 600W PSU - though the brand is very sus and not what I would describe as credible GPU: Gigabyte AMD RX570 (previously a Zotac 550Ti) The things i have tried so far: Using only one RAM stick (each slot tested, and with different modules) Reseated the CPU Removed the GPU and used the integrated graphics Taken the motherboard out of the case and tried booting on the box Cleared the CMOS Removed the battery Made sure all connectors and components are properly seated I have my feeling that the PSU is dead, but at the same time, the systems fans and LEDs run as expected. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  11. I've just started runnning into this issue as well. By any chance, are you on Windows 10 1809?
  12. The card will just about fit. Although size is an issue Thanks
  13. Yes, thank you I know how to find benchmarks. However, this does not help me decide whether its worth the extra temps/power and whether its worth running the risk with only a 600W PSU.
