Haha, my friend was very new to CSGO and got a StatTrack ak Redline FT from a case (Keep in mind he only bought 5 cases) that costed about $50 and his friend "scammed" him into trading it for an awp corticera costing about $10.

Case opening is GabeN's way of trolling us.... Jk, Case opening is an aspect of CSGO where you buy a case generally costing ~$.10 and buy a key costing ~$2.50. When obtaining both a case and a key of the same kind you can open the case and have a random chance to get weapon skins that are nearly worthless to skins that can be more that $1k. In most scenarios you will lose profit but you can also gain profit, sometimes a lot. Case opening should not be done if you want one certain skin, if you want a certain skin go on the steam community market and buy it there.
