  1. Hi all

Just wondering if I should be concerned at the flex of my M.2 NVMe SSD in the riser card of my Crossfire Impact board. See pics attached. My thoughts are that the thermal pads may soften up with heat and so the SSD may straighten out?

  2. I've been following for a while (since your house was your office ahaha) and when you first reviewed this, I wasn't a fan.

But then after not hearing a bad word about it I started to like it.

Now years later and it being more powerful I really like both laptops you've shown.

I'd really benefit from a Windows laptop as I end up travelling between 4 'homes' and quite obviously my desktop can't travel around that much.

    Good luck everyone!

I have always loved drones and photography. I use to have a really bad drone with a 0.3mp camera. I have a budget of £240 but I can go  up to £260 to get a new drone. It needs to have a good camera and if possible GPS. The Parrot AR Drone 2.0 is perfect apart from the fact it has terrible range due to the fact is uses wifi to connect to a phone which is used to control. If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it.

I currently own and use a DJI Phantom 4.

It has surpassed all my expectations. I know you're on a budget, but you really do get what you pay for. I'd recommend a second hand phantom 3 pro.

Sorry if this is a pointless post!

Which one best goes with your colour scheme?

if you don't care about colour schemes, what do you look for in motherboard features..?

In my opinion, I'd have a preference with the gigabyte board.

True, true, you're still correct - in this instance, it likely won't make a difference, because all he's doing is adding more RAM of the same speed. who knows, though - dual-channel may help quite a bit.

I didn't catch whether or not if he has 1x8GB or 2x4GB. But this is a suggestion he should maybe take into account

To pick you up on a point there - APUs are one of the rare instances where RAM actually massively affects framerates, because the speed of your system memory is the speed of your VRAM.

I still believe at 8GB and the speed of the RAM, this will have little effect.

I don't, and have never had, an APU so I can't confirm.

I was just wondering , by how much would my performance increase if i put in a secondary 8 gig 1866 MHz ram in my system?
Answers in FPS is much appreciated.
    here are my current specs

    MSI- A68HM-E33-V2

Kingston Hyper X Fury 8 gig RAM 1866MHz
AMD 7700K Black Ed. 3.4 GHz apu

PLEASE DONT TELL ME TO BUY A 2133MHz RAM or even 2444MHz
i dont have enough money and my MOBO doesnt support it.
    Graphs will be good too.
Please if if you have any recommendations  that would not cost me over $50-$70
and if you are recommending give me the data that proves you are right

quick and blunt answer: it won't.

There will be a few occasions where it may (like in a game which requires memory leaks for it to run)

but if you want FPS increase, RAM is not the way to go - especially if you already have 8GB.

Ok, I'm making a budget PC for 300 euros. I already have the case (Corsair Carbide Series Spec 01) and the storage (128GB of SSD). I'm trying to salvage an AMD APU. If I can't salvage this, I'll buy it :P (AMD A6 6300k)

So basically, can I use a graphics card along with an APU, and if so, what PSU should I get if my power consumption is 182W?

Yeah you can use APU and GPU. Pretty sure there was talk about using them together - but don't quote me on that. This sounds pretty cool - would be nice if you did a build log for this in the build log section. There's loads of expensive PCs in there, would be nice for a lower end PC which has a bunch of character thread :P

edit: also the PSU, I'd go with previous suggestions also!

The title pretty much says it all, I'm looking for bookshelf style speakers in white for relatively cheap. They do not have to be super fancy high end monitoring speakers, as I have absolutely no use for that. I just think white bookshelf speakers look amazing and would go great with my setup.

    friend just spotted these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/JBL-Control-One-boxes-White/dp/B007IIRHE4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1455291729&sr=8-1&keywords=jbl+control+one+white

need an amp though. The black versions are less than half the price

Well the difference between speakers that cost 100£ and 300£ is how well they reproduce the sounds some speakers makes the sound warm and some make it cold, the accurate sound is not something you get in 100£ pair of speakers that's something you get from 100-150£ for one speaker, I am not saying they are bad but you should not set your hopes to high up and to be 100% honest with you the a5+ is a bit overpriced but they are pretty good. anything would really be a upgrade from small cheap speakers or build in ones. Look used first and see if you can find maybe a 300£ pair for 100£ because they are used.

I personally wouldn't go second hand. Speakers consist of moving parts and anything with moving parts can be quite easily damaged. This is just my preference.

the a5+ is, yes, but that doesn't negate from it's quality. My other speakers could also be called overpriced. The quality of the build, especially the speakers being requested by OP will be on show on a bookshelf, needs to be high. Not every set of speakers 100% revolves around sound reproduction.

OP has yet to define what their preference is. The least you could do is show them some of your suggestions.

    I cant OC the i7 2700k because I have a p8H61 mobo... But if i buy a new one a Z170 I can :P

    ahh okay :P

Well like i said, one of the latest generations would suit.

6600(k), 6700(k)... whatever you want :) I can vouch for the 6700K, but it's not necessary in all situations. After that, pick your motherboard and then there you go :P this may mean an upgrade in RAM to DDR4 though - but some motherboards do support DDR3. Check before you buy!

Yeah, I was planning on upgraing the CPU down the line.

i know you've probably heard it many times - but saving now will be better for you.

if you would rather get it now (i understand that - i was in the same shoes in the past :P) then everything looks good.

Would recommend using PCPartPicker (give it a quick google, will be pretty high on the list) - this ensures that everything is compatible (down to power supply, correct sockets etc.). I disagree with the people above talking about increasing PSU wattage - this isn't necessary  but does make the PSU more efficient

Hope you enjoy your new pc!

What do you recommend for a good upgrade? I have a 212 evo so i can OC

You have said in the first post that you wouldn't be overclocking xD!

    Okay then,

Anything from skylake, broad well or haswell. If you feel uncomfortable overclocking, the non-k versions (some of which can still be overclocked - just more difficult) are so much cheaper (like seriously consider this).

Just don't expect the greatest sound from speakers around 100£ for a pair.

You can still get some good sound from £100 speakers. The problem is that white book shelf speakers aren't massively common (or at least from my experience)

the difference between £100 and £300 speakers (I know, I have the speakers in my signature on my desk and a5+ in my living room) is noticeable, but that 'noticeable' statement cost an additional £200.

It's all about what the user wants

    My system specs,
    Core i5 4440
    4*4gb Adata 1600 mhz ram
    DH87RL motherboard
    ASUS GTX 750Ti OC edition 2GB GDDR5

i have been able to run games like Assassin's Creed Black Flag well over 40FPS before Windows 10 installation. For a while after windows 10 installation the games worked  fine, then problems started popping up. The games lag now, i have been getting only around 6 FPS for most of my games. At first it was just for a few titles, now all the games are lagging.I tried lowering the graphics settings too. It didnt help at all( not even the difference of 1 FPS). I tried my friend's GTX 550Ti in my pc and its working fine. Before you conclude that my GPU is faulty, let me tell you that he tried my GPU in his pc and everything was working fine,no issues whatsoever, all games worked fine with no lag at all (Far cry 4 maxed out at 37fps in 1080p).
PS . all the drivers are up to date. No viruses (i have scanned the entire PC the latest and daily updated version of Kaspersky Internet security).
Let me also add that some of the system utilities like task manager, command prompt, disk management, etc dont work often (all the more reasons to say that my OS is buggy).
I am expecting someone to reply soon. Thanks in advance.

Due to what you've said in the latter part here, reinstall windows.

That's my first suggestion. Much easier then finding a problem (which would most likely take longer than re-installing).

    another idea?

take of the key caps, see what's there?

If you haven't been eating over it (with crumbs falling into it), then it may just be a bad keyboard - RMA if that's the case
