  1. First off I live in NZ parts are expensive because of shipping. The Board is Dual Channel, ill probably look at getting 8GB (2x4) rather then getting a cheaper board (I like the clean look). I would still go Ivy over Haswell, as from what I've been reading there is not much preformance for the price. I looked into the 7950 w/boost and that is really interesting. Problem is I would love a MSI motherboard but they are pretty hard to get here. I am planning on crossfire (eventually). I have not started editing yet as I cant on my laptop (its hopless) but as well as editing I'm a student who uses Arcmap, I'll look into the debate which is better.
  2. Hey so I'm not really new to computer building or anything just that this is my own first personal build, and I'm wanting suggestions about it. So I'm from New Zealand and I want a budget of around $2500 NZD my machine has to be good so I'm not really going in at entry level (I want it to be somewhat future proof). Here is the list of parts so far. - Ivy Bridge Core i7 3770K Processor - Corsair H100i - Sabertooth Z77 - Corsair Carbide R200 (Cheap but I like it, would like something bigger but trimming the fat where I can) - Corsair HX750W Gold - Samsung 120G 840 series - Corsair Vengence (Black) 8gb (only one stick as probably upgrading in the future) - Asus 7970 GHz edition (most expensive part hoping its going to drop in the next few months or so) At the moment all up its $2488 with shipping included. Its going to be a a pretty Generic all round PC for gaming/editing/work one thing I'm not too sure on is actual storage and and other cooling features. I was thinking perhaps for storage 2 or 3 WD Caviar Greens or reds as I am looking to record footage and do editing. With the cooling should I be going Static or Positive? I've heard that Static is better because it keep the PC case temps different to those of the environmental (my flat) if you live somewhere where with changing temps. Thanks all tell me what you think
