  1. What would you guys consider too hot? And what would be an average or safe temp? Specifically a gtx970
  2. Do you have any other programs you'd suggest I try that monitor both cpu and gpu temps? I thought my cpu heat was low also but I talked to Asus and they said that I might have gotten lucky with my cpu and got a cherry picked one. But I agree that more tests the better, or even try overclocking it a bit more. I have the CAM software installed but I didn't see an area showing different light colors. I'm also not very fond of the software personally. I also used Noctua F-A14 IPPC-2000 IP67 PWM fans with the cooler instead of the stock fans if that made any difference.
  3. So my Kraken cpu block light always shows a pink light 90% of the time and sometimes red. I've heard that it resembles cpu temp but I have Aida64 running in the background most the time and it never shows that my cpu is really hot by any means, I think under a full load it runs roughly 52℃ which I think is ok? This is with a rookie overclock (first time doing it) at 4.7GHz and 1.2 volts. My cpu is an I7 4970k. What I was wondering is, had anyone tried changing the light so that it puts off a different color? Or is there a way to just shut of the light? It puts off a pinkish color that doesn't look very good at all... Thanks for any input you guys can give me
  4. Turn down the settings That's the opposite of what I'm trying to do haha. Do you think sli 980's would do the trick?
  5. I'm really liking the game Evolve but it's driving me nuts that my pc won't play it on ultra with consistent 60fps. I know what your thinking, go cry moar. And I know this is a Cryengine game. But what do you guys suggest I do to fix this? Sell my 970's ( Gigabyte G1's) and buy some 980's? Or wait for Nvidia/AMD's next line of gpu? I haven't tryed OC'ing my gpu's yet and my cpu is an I7 4790k overclocked to 4.7Ghz. I also have 16gigs 2400MhzHz ram. Any input would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.
  6. Thanks a lot guys! That helped me narrow my sights down a bit. Overkill is a good thing, I'm sure he'll be playing other games besides WoW. But that is his main game
  7. I'm helping my buddy put together a pc for WoW but I'm having a hard time putting a list of components together without going crazy on prices. Any ideas for a good all around WoW pc for roughly 1,000?
  8. I'm willing to spend 500ish on headphones but I don't have a way to personally listen to different headphones. Will the Denon's be a good headphone for gaming and my genre of music? Which is mainly Death Metal but I also listen to some techno/country and top hits. Can anyone give me some insight please? I never thought buying headphones would be so tough... Maybe there's other model's I should be looking at? I'm willing to spend 300-600 on them. Thank you!
  9. So do I need to run two displayport cables from each gpu to my monitor to run sli?
  10. And one more thing, would I need a deticated sound card for headsets like these? Or do you think the Asus vii Hero onboard audio be alright?
  11. How bad to open back headphones leak? I'm looking at buying the Sennheiser HD558 or HD598's but I'm worried they'll be too loud. My PC is next to my bed and my girlfriend really hates my Bose system when she's trying to sleep haha. If I had them turned up to medium low settings just to hear my games, Do you guys think it would be bothersome from the outside?
  12. I know there's a bunch of these topics but would you guys mind giving me some good models to look at, preferably some that you've actually tried? Thank you
  13. I'll have my new 970 installed tonight, and report back with my results at 1440p running sli. Thanks for the answers guys!
  14. Any news of new games coming out that were somewhat similar to unreal tournament? I haven't played pc shooters in a decade haha. That Evolve looks like it will be a fun twist. I'm also looking forward to the new Rainbow Six.
