  1. check your power button connector and verify its on the correct motherboard pins. just had a similar issue with a relative.
  2. Seeing as you aren't planning to get it anytime soon i would personally hold off until you are going to make the order. You may find cheaper prices and gpu's in stock at msrp when you are ready. If i had to pick though i like list 2 due to the beefcake 10900k. Ryzen would be best bang for buck providing you can get it in stock.
  3. could be the gpu, id honestly try a beefier psu first worst case send it back if its not the problem.
  4. I have comcast and mine does this also. I asked them about it and they said it was noise in the lines most likely not the case though
  5. I recently bought a x99-A mobo second hand and it did not have a mother board driver cd in it, my system functions 100 % fine as is right now but i was concerned and wondered if I needed the updates. I have never installed drivers without a cd so and help and which ones I need of of asus's website would be helpful!! Thanks. Here is the driver list http://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/X99A/HelpDesk_Download/
  6. I would go with the x99 just because I just upgraded to x99 also and im not disappointed, thats if the money is not an object... However! I had a 4790k previously and I don't really see much difference in performance other than rendering videos.
  7. Im new to this chip and x99 in general, I just thought it was time for an upgrade. I have it overclocked to 4.0ghz at 1.2v stable but the temps are iffy. my ambient is around 74 degrees farenheight (23.3 C) and while running the max heat test on prime 95 the core temps jump to 80-90 and the package doesnt go above 80, was I successful or should I alter it?
  8. I bet you over drew on a breaker, go check your breaker box and reset the one to your room, its safe and it wont harm anything incase you haven't ever done it before.
  9. If he did mess up the heatsink or internals trying to water cool it, would that be a dead card or could I still rma it. I wouldnt know, been lucky enough never to have anything die in its warranty.
  10. That's what im thinking too, he said he had water blocks for all 3.
  11. A local guy is selling a 980 from msi, his reaspm for selling is that it wouldn't fit in his case with the sound card and capture card. He did mention he had a custom waterloop set up liquid cooling both of the ones he could fit. My guestion is if his story checks out what should I look for other than visible defects and running a stress test. P.S. the price he wants is only 350 bucks and its less than 30 days old, bought off newegg also so there is always a potential for an RMA also.
  12. Most of that is cpu, rendering and stuff takes allot of processing power, very little gpu. What are your current processor and gpu?
  13. What are your system specs, powersupply included also please!
  14. 8 gigs shouldn't make it crash unless its a bad dimm of ram but it could be somthing else ,however, I would recommend buying a single 8 gig stick of something like corsair vengance or g-skill ripjaws.
  15. Mac's is probably soldered in anyways tbh
