  1. surely there comes a point when more rad area has diminishing returns? How do I calculate this?
  2. Looking for liquid, need some information. What size rad (minimum and optimum) should I get to cool a i5 3570K running at about 4.5+ and a GTX780 maxed out? Anyone done this themselves? Assuming average rad performance and average fan performance here btw.
  3. Start a new mod on my 900d. So what do the users of LTT think of the following. I plan to start in the next week and finish by end of October. Removing 5.25 bays supports Removing the motherbaord tray Modding front panel to have a full length plexiglass window with a fans behind it Separating the bottom compartment with a blanking panel Installing a highly polished copper blanking plate that covers the entire area that used to be occupied by the 5.25 bays and mobo tray. The blanking plate will also be have a aluminium sheet attached to it to add strength and ridgitity Rotating the mobo by 90 degrees anti clock wise and mounting the rear I/O on the compartment separating plate. Basically like a TJ11, but upside down. The motherboard would be aligned with the centre of the case Adding a window the other door. To show off the cable management and water runs from that side Create mounting points on the back of the main blanking plate for SSD drives Powder coating the entire case another colour, most likely white. (not the copper blanking plate obliviously) Possible? Any problems anyone can think off? Anyone seen any examples of the stuff on that list before? I.e. the copper blanking plate or the rotated mobo mod?
  4. Nothing extra ordinary in there, but the cables will all be custom and mounted on a custom blanking plate that will replace the mobo tray.
  5. I.e. behind the mobo tray showing off some cable management. It would be on a 900d. I am planning my next mod, and I want the stuff you dont normally see, to be seen. I have not seen this before on a mod, so whats everyones take on this idea?
  6. Got to admit I'm tempted by the white. You got a better suggestion?
  7. I am about to start a mod on a 900d (will be shared on here) and I am looking to get it powder coated. The front panel has a nice brushed aluminium look that I want to keep idealy, and also the components going into the case are going to have a blue / black colour theme. So what colour should I get the rest of the case done in? White? Blue? Something else? your thoughts...
  8. I was considering a NAS for the future. But I want to stick to HDD and sata for my next big upgrade. My current HDD are making strange sounds, so need replacing before they fail. How much is SSD performance held back back caching?
  9. soz, posted before i could type the post. check now.
  10. I current have 2TB hdd + 128GB vertex 4 SSD. I am keeping the SSD, but looking to get more space. My mobo has a caching solution. Is it a good idea to use this to get more storage than the current 128GB on my primary drive. How will SSD performance be compromised? As for more HDD storage, what would you guys recommend. I have a budget of about $250.
  11. I already steam straight from my PC onto twitch, but I am looking for a more comprehensive solution that eats up less of my CPU, while facilitating some additional useful features. I should make it clear from the outset that I don't understand much about capture cards. However I am looking to do the following: Capture and stream game play from the desktop of my pc Capture and stream game play from my PS2 Edit captured footage, and upload to Youtube Right now my PS2 is plugged into my tv, but I wish to view the game play from it through my monitor. While capturing and streaming from it. So what kind of solution would I need for this? Would it be easier change my PS2 for a PS3 for better connectivity to current capture solutions? Any advice is gratefully received, also sorry if this ended up in the wrong forum.
  12. When I turn the LCD on after it been off more than an hour, I get groups of vertical tuck pixel lines appearing on the display. However after approx 20 minutes of it been switch on and receiving signal, the stuck pixel lines totally disappear and the LCD is behaving as it should. Anyone know why this would happen? I cant make it stop and its very annoying for it to happen to such a nice display as well. Its out of warranty before anyone asks, so I cant send it back.
