    the files are perfect the same i used to intall earlier.

    no i didn't reset the cmos. the sata mode is ahci as usual.

    Yes, I have let it sit for nearly an hour. I have tried with a 1080p and a 720p monitor both connectecd individually at different times. loading files gets over and then the blank scrren is displayed.

    I tried with both an ssd and a hdd.After the windows screen, the system sits idle displayinng a black screen. It is windows 7 .

    I did it too as I reapplied the thermal paste. The bios cpu temperature reads 39C.

    Yes the system boots up to the same point and shuts down. the cpu fan spins at around 1400rpm which is what I usually see.

    what do you mean booting to bios. If you mean entering the bios, I went in and it works fine.

    Yes, I removed the gpu, then I removed the cpu cooler and changed the thermal paste.

    I upgraded my case and psu. Is there any chance that I had damaged my motherboard? When I boot up, only the windows logo is displayed after which the screen goes blank. When I tried to reinstall windows, after the screen says loading files, nothing else is displayed. What do you think is the cause for this problem?

    I first tried connecting only the ssd after setting the boot priorities right. As the system didn't boot I tried to reinstall windows.

    Hi, what is the average life of the thermal paste that come's with the stock intel cooler, assuming the cpu runs at full load 8-12 hours a day.
