  1. No.It is not viable to turn off Hyper-threading.To your question nature is somewhat partial you might say.Take this. 1.If you disable HT,you won't be able to signify the temperature drop in CPU temp. Its almost negligible!. It isn't worth the bother of doing that,in addition you maybe risking potential performance degradation(not by much in real world),nonetheless! 2.On the other way around(Off-topic,non-related): Suppose if you have a totally non-HT supported CPU like i5,then it is a bit cooler than i7. So it is not just enable-disable hyperthreading,it depends on the architecture of CPU a lot.More logical core=more space, more heat trapping is possible and difficult to cool.Almost irrespective if u enable/disable HT
  2. Everyone seems to forget about ambient Temp! The temperature of and performance depends on the room temp.So without mentioning those, simple temps doesn't make any sense! Don't worry that cooler can(will) handle 4790k,just fine, unless of course u live in place, above ambient temp of 35C or more. And you wont fry that CPU,unless you push too hard, and don't worry about temp at that frequency.
  3. i7 4790k,if you want the fastest single thread performance. In other words a bit speedy, however little or big depending on application, but definitely faster nonetheless.
  4. So do you think it is better than Maximus Ranger. And keen about the audio in Sabertooth Z97.I know that the Supreme FX is not much different than ALC1150,but between the two,is the difference worth for Maximus Ranger.
  5. Well Z97 is ridiculously expensive in the region. No clue Well the Z97 is ridiculoulsly expensive over other options, here in India. No go for that, neck by neck, can do with Maximus Ranger at best!
  6. Noctua NH-U12S or even Noctua NH-14S.Can actually do the job. A bit more You can go to NH-D14,or NH-D15 dual tower ones.
  7. Well I'm in an indecisive situation between the choice of boards for Z97 platform. Already have i7 4790k processor, that I wanted and I'm in need for suggestion between the following motherboards 1.Asus Z97-A (INR 12,500=$204) 2.Asus Z97 Sabertooth Mark 2 (INR 14,200=$232) 3.Asus Maximus vii Ranger Z97 (INR 15,100=$247) As far as I'm concerned all of the above motherboards will be fine for me,since I'm the type of person who enjoys the features if they are present, its not absolute necessity. All I wanted the best from,is the onboard audio. Suggestions should be based on whether the difference between the Audio quality,VRM circuitry,Capacitor quality and overall feature set between those motherboards is well established/worth or not for the price we pay for. Note.Choice between only these motherboards. Absolute max.option is maximus Ranger. Yes.Only between Asus Motherboards.I live in India,so price-point may vary.
  8. Yeah, you can go with urbanites, for folding,it's definitely up on your alley. For pure sonic performance, still prefer momentum over-ear,over M50X and Urbanite XL If you have any opportunity to audition them, that would be the best situation for you.Afterall, headphones sound different to everybody.
  9. Try it won't harm.I got some ridiculous 2.5 gbps read,1.7 gbps write with rapid mode on.Again know that the rapid mode on my system adds up 1ms latency to the ssd. So,as I've said before even with rapid mode on,the performance in real world wasn't shattering as GBPS.Sure, try it,if it benchmarks really well and numbers satisfy you,Keep it on.If you find the difference in speed isn't much, you can disable it like myself, anyways! P.S: Yeah even near 2GBPS dosen't feel much in real world ,only for benchmarking!
  10. Analytical than Senns. The sound signature is definitely different. But the overall brighter presentation and more resolution when paired with an amp results to a headphone that is sometimes less forgiving than the other two. Again, its a great headphone, but for his genre and overall versitility,HD 598 wins here.
  11. Yeah..I think you're stuck with marvell ports anyways.Doesn't your mobo have Intel ones The pics you have shown here,it is a sign of marvell port holding back Try googling Marvell vs Intel.Sata ports.just to know that there's nothing wrong with your EVO SSD. Restoration isn't going to restore performance like make it fast. The earlier firmware had an algorithm that made excessive writes to SSD,without needing to. Fortunately Samsung corrected that, that brings..what you can say a little life.(It doesn't matter to new SSD's anyways).Hence its a potential performance restoration. NOTE:Even if you had gone away with Intel sata ports and all,the difference between what you have and what you could have isn't noticeable. Think this as something you're doing this, cause you like to do it.It is just numbers, above the numbers which really doesn't matter in real world. P.S :I run Samsung Evo 120Gig in SATA 2,without AHCI.
  12. That genre suits the HD 558. HD 598 is much more immersive in those genre if you're able to spend a little more to 558's. The benefits of HD 598 are: everything that HD 558's do but in a better, refined way. 1.There is much better sound stage and it is huge! 2.More resolution is packed into it (not as Q701 mentioned above) 3.Instrument separation is better 4.Mids and Highs are better 5.Bass is controlled. 6.Best Headphones for everything,be it music,gaming,movies..under $200 You'll be hearing like a live performance infront of you CONS: 1.The bass is not as kick-in as HD 558.The bass in HD 598 is different than 558's.You might say it is lacking, but its definitely present and more controlled than HD 558. 2.The price. Some say it is better to buy HD 558 and aftertime mod it into HD 598 like..But its subjective.Even with the mod the HD 558 does not sound as full as 598.IMO.If you buy 558,you'll be always tempted to hear HD 598..Why not just buy them at start! 3. The colour-scheme.Its either love it or hate it. AKG Q701 is a different animal. The sound stage is huge and all.The resolution is very good, the grime is it is a bit bright for me.That is the cost for being analytical IMO It is a very good headphone overall. But there are somethings to know. 1.Being a very huge-open back HP,the vocals and centre instruments aren't at centre. They are shifted towards side. That sounds awkward IMO 2.As said earlier it is very analytical and little bright. Not as soothing as Senns 3.You'll definitely need an amp to drive them to full 4.If you say,HD 598 are bass-less..wonder what you'll say for Q701.The bass impact is even less than HD 598. 5.Not an allrounder like HD 598.But definitely musical champ. P.S took a lot time to write..sorry for time
  13. Try to find momentum in that price range. The Over -Ear ones. Comfort isn't the best point on momentums, But they are the best bet for what you're looking for. They are just amazing headphones. No better headphones fit that description or better with the pricepoint and all-around versitility. This is coming from whom, who has listened to both urbanite XL and momentums. Urbanites are good.I find momentums to be better.
  14. Yep,HD 558's are very good.If you like Sennheiser sound signature, you're better off with that. I recommend buying open-back,to actually notice you have bought something..something nice. There are many other alternatives though.Share your musical interests and how you would power them.(With or Without AMP)or from your portable devices.
