  1. So, say you have a 28 lane CPU. You put 2 graphics cards in your computer, so your cards would be running at 16x and 8x. You put an M.2 SSD into the M.2 socket integrated in your motherboard. M.2 cards can theoretically use up to 4x. Does that mean that at this point all of your bandwidth is being used up? If you wanted to put another M.2 SSD in your system (maybe in a PCI card that you put into a 4x slot that adapts into another M.2 slot), would this be possible? How would the bandwidth be divided at this point, between 2 graphics cards and 2 M.2 SSDs that hypothetically uses up all the bandwidth that is available to it? Thanks!
  2. So my nzxt hue in my computer lights up when I initially boot the computer up, but after the bios menu pops up, it turns off. It also stays off in the os. I assume that this is a bios setting issue, but I don't know what to change in the bios. Any ideas?
  3. So I installed an nzxt hue in my computer, and it turns on for a couple seconds right after I boot up the computer, but after I reach the BIOS menu it turns off and it stays off when booting into the OS. I assume that I need to change something within the BIOS to make the NZXT Hue stay on, but I don't know what to change. Any ideas?
  4. So how does shorting the motherboard pins work? Do I turn the computer off, then poke the power button pins with metal, then turn the computer on and then poke them again?
  5. Hey guys, the title says most of it but I'll explain the situation. I am trying to turn on my computer but it won't power on. None of the fans spin, and the power supply doesn't work when I hit the power button. However, I tested the power supply and it works fine, so I don't think that's where the problem is. The motherboard light is also clearly lit up, meaning power it getting to it. So it seems that its just the power button that doesn't work, and I've checked all of the headings on the motherboard and made sure the connections are in the proper positions, but I can't get it to work. The system worked fine the other day, and I didn't move the headings. The only change I made to the system was adding a r9 290x in place of a GTX 770, and I placed a cap on the "chassis intrusion" pins. That's it. Any ideas? Thanks. My rig: Asus p8z77i-deluxe, i5-3570k, r9 290x, Corsair GS800
  6. So I'm looking at the xspc razor full cover liquid cooling block for the gtx 770. It says its compatible with reference design cards. Do cards such as the evga gtx 770 acx? I know the cooler is custom but I'm assuming the PCB is the same. Can someone give me some insight as to what cards work with this particular water block? Thanks.
  7. Oh sorry if I wasn't clear. I meant what ports on either the motherboard or the video card could be used to capture video from an external source.
  8. Hello. I was just wondering what ports I could record video over between a gigabyte GA-Z87N-WIFI motherboard and a Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 graphics card. Thanks.
  9. Should connect through the Ethernet or USB ports and this is just for general usage and maybe some light gaming
  10. Hello everyone. I just wanted to get people's suggestions about what they think the best wireless adapters are. And when I saying wireless I don't just mean WiFi; it should be a USB or Ethernet thing, not a powerline one that needs to be wired up. This would be for a laptop. thanks
  11. So I got a Corsair 350D for myself and I'm going to build a liquid cooled system. I'm also looking at getting the XSPC Photon Reservoir. I want to mount the Photon in the front of the 350D after removing the hard drive and SSD cages. However the Photon mounting bracket is not wide enough to reach both sides of the metal of the case where the front fans usually go. I was just wondering if there are any adapters to mount on wider surfaces or any solutions you guys have. I just want some input before I go to ghetto mount planning. Thanks.
  12. Motherboard: GA-970A-UD3P $110 RAM: you can really get any of the cheapest RAM.. I would get at least 1600mhz ram and 8gb $60-80 maybe some crucial ballistix? Power supply: corsair cx500 $50 Although there's a lot of great power supplies out there... Anything from corsair, seasonic, and Silverstone will be great... The r7 270 will be great by the way. Good luck and have fun with the build!
  13. You're fine... Although if you go with a radeon card you might want to go for an 8 core processor for amd mantle
  14. Yeah looks great... Not much to add except case ideas that I think you may not have looked at. The cubitek mini cube you can find at ncix. Xigmatek also has a beautiful case coming out. The Aquila... Although its micro atx and if you go for micro atx you may want a bigger power supply to expand
