  1. Interesting. I didn't realise that about the CPU's. Thanks, ill have a read about it.
  2. My friend and I spent a good 4 hours last night looking through PC parts to budget of about £600 (GBP) (which is about 1000 Canadian) And we came up with this. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Beffort/saved/fs6VYJ Please excuse the name we were very tired Then theres a secondary build which are the recommended requirements for PuBG which is about the same price. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Dobby240/saved/#view=bG3nnQ In the first build we have a hex core AMD Ryzen 5 which I am unsure is even a good choice seeing as gaming on utilises a couple cores at most. The GPU's on the other hand are the best we could find under £200 because the market is so bad at the moment with the miners. If you have any suggestions or tweaks please let me know as I think im close to telling him to go with the second list. Hi current pc is this https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/DMGNLD So you can compare what we are working with. Thanks for you help and suggestions.
  3. Good mix of answers. Thanks for sticking around and answering my queries. i think i have enough to go by for a few days. tyvm both of you
  4. Yeah i was gonna say, I imagine there are no integrated graphics on a true CPU? where as an APU is trying to do all of it. As a side question, what are both you guy's thoughts on buying any component second hand? obviously over clocking things can shorten life cycles but what about the other bits?
  5. Thanks for the honest reply, He's already bought the computer and i told him the same thing last night which kinda shot him down a bit Im trying my best to see what his options are short of getting a new PC but at least I know i wasn't being harsh. because this system is severely under powered. It's not quite what i was looking no for but at the same time thanks for the honesty. Ty for the video clip I will keep it in mind and see what I can build for him on Part picker over the next few days. Also i had the same feelings for it and ty for same reasons as the previous reply ^
  6. Maybe my writings not as good, The GPU alone doesnt want to be more than this.
  7. Am i right in thinking that if i were to go for a GPU in future after getting this then we could maybe put a bit more money towards it or is saving for a better system in the mean time a more worth while cause?
  8. Thanks for the reply, If im being totally honest iv never heard of APU's but it gives me something new to look in to. Thanks
  9. can you just say what parts he needs and how much he has to spend on those parts? The computer you have listed really isnt going to do much more then CSGO, and even that im not sure how great it will run. Whats the budget and what parts does he need, and realistically what is he trying to use the computer for Its all stated. Everything on the list is bought. The GPU is not
  10. Im unsure if this is in the right section of the forum. let me know and i ll move it. apologies in advance
  11. Hey everyone, I'm trying to help a buddy get a GPU for his system that he bought from a friend. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/smzxZ8 Everything in that list is what i believe he has. The mobo is a littel questionable as the Service Management list shows it as "To be filled in by BIOS" Which means is an OEM board of some kind. Anyways the GPU has been added to the list as a "is this gonna work" kinda thing and even though the site says it compatibility is fine and its under the PSU's limits. Is the CPU going to bottleneck it and is there an alternative if so. The budget doesn't want to be more than 120, ideally under 100 as it's a first time system that he's going to learn from and game on. Thanks for all the friendly help as you usually provide. I'll stay active as long as I can while im still looking for other options.
  12. After a little looking it seems like a nic is needed and a network HUB to make this work.
  13. Right, is that difficult to do? Where do I start searching for information on this?
  14. I Should probably add that my primary PC has no WIFI capability. But i imagine the NIC is so that it will work? there doesn't seem to be any usb to usb connectivity on this box and correct me if im wrong, no way of making it work Ethernet cable to Ethernet port directly without the NIC or equivalent hub? if thats even the right word for it.
  15. Yeah I'm trying to decide if i should just get a DAS over a NAS. Although I like the qualities of the NAS i don't think i need the network connectivity. But i would still like RAID to be a priority option. If i can use the 4bay Qnap device above as both that would be great but im in the dark a little here.
