  1. Just heard that 'PSN has heard gamers, and have reversed their PSN acct requirement', gamers have won just once....now, de-censor Stellar Blade!
  2. As mentioned previously, I'd gotten an SMS from the game shop downstairs, collected my personal GOTY.... Installed it, but had no time to play except a brief run thru the first few minutes, runs perfectly smooth....going out now for lunch with my bud....on him of course.
  3. Are you by chance using a Logitech mouse, or a Logitech peripheral? I recall that there was an issue with Logitech driver having some sort of conflict with the game. Even I, when I was playing the game when it was first launched, had a powerful rig at the time but also had a logitech mouse and/or keyboard, I had bad framerate dropping to single figure.
  4. As I'd mentioned, here's a couple of pics of my purchases: The Gigaworks T40 Series II speakers, excuse the mess as I was simply testing it on my coffee table just to ensure that the speakers work. Sounds pretty good actually....
  5. Bought myself a Creative Gigaworks T40 Series II for laptop usage, as well as a PS5 + Stellar Blade preorder, I will setup my PS5 tomorrow and post some pics when it's done.....
  6. It should work, you might initially get a display when you power on, but best way to check is to run HWInfo, GPUZ to check if the GPU is running as spec'ed.....that is, IF the mobo is PCIe 3.0x16/PCIe 4.0x16, that the card is running at that spec, and not PCIe 1.0/1.1 or whatever the case may be. When I was looking for a GPU riser, I'd read that the Linkup riser I'd gotten was the only one guaranteed to work at PCIe4.0 x16, and it did, still does. Again, nothing wrong with trying out the GPU riser cable that came with the case.....tech might have improved since last year when I got mine that just about any riser works perfectly, who knows?!
  7. Not my personal experience with GPU risers from Tt and others, but I was recommended to get Linkup GPU riser for my RX 7900 XTX, which I'd gotten some 15 months back. I was told using generic or other brands, especially generic ones, will result in BSOD, WHEA errors and such, so I'd had to pick the expensive alternative below. It's been about 15 months now since I'd gotten it for my main rig, and it's working perfectly fine, no issue with games and benchmarks. Instead of going through the trouble of having issues with generic or meh GPU risers, not to mention the time and effort (and money) spent on risers that do not work, might as well bite the bullet and get a good quality, albeit expensive riser. Still, that riser that cable that came with your case might just work, I dunno for sure, give it a try and see what happens.....
  8. I think it's either the angle, or the pic's been touched up. Plus compare Humberly Gonzalez to the rendered Kay Vess whom her character is based off.....go to the page below and compare the pics, and can you explain why they hired a beautiful woman like Humberly and uglify her? https://www.google.com/search?sca_esv=e61ceee022fb5976&rlz=1C1FHFK_enSG963SG963&q=star+wars+outlaws+actress&uds=AMwkrPsgaxy4zno0Ec5On9Q8jirujmHnUhGDYln_BaZs2v0WrHsb8JQhCRnRKRSKcEC3Wjme1ikaAsq2R-PEReGolFmMbTiq4xDKzNa0LB6wUsFVYnudRr0i2E-ZW45cA2kg-IV3e2TASSn_xCQpcXCOQG7sVTeduASF5GOe68l9dfBaWLZlTV7o5hqs2g53-b_COwCG96sSrQ3bv2CXUXlh-knFSy4sr_CTGa2zzFSg3w1O6tIY04opyl0UVxWS7pw9ZbzHcq21zkvfpnrc6R-AVdO_s5NEXAIqMGHBR8O9UpiQxVdlmQ1yea3rGdVtMLfYGZEL3yUM&udm=2&prmd=ivnsbmtz&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwilm77licOFAxXbzDgGHfynD6gQtKgLegQICRAB&biw=1373&bih=879&dpr=1#vhid=2FbY82D17lWPBM&vssid=mosaic One of many YT post about her looks: There is a reason why the Star Wars Outlaws trailer is getting ratio'ed, plus the people involved are racists....particularly, against whites. Ain't no skin off my back as I'm Asian, I object to this and won't buy Outlaws on principle. To paraphrase the great MLK, I believe ALL color of people should, and MUST be treated on the content of their character and NOT be judged based on skin color.
  9. Yeah, that looks good enough for even heavier usage, battery size looks good, 6.67"120Hz display, pretty solid specs. CPU may not be the best but is pretty good....if it's within your budget, plus if it's locally warrantied, go for it!
  10. Fine, laugh all you want, I don't care. Be happy playing Star Wars Outlaws where the lead female character was deliberately uglified (compare the original actress Humberly Gonzalez against the rendered lead Kay Vess and tell me if you see the resemblance) to suit 'modern audiences' whatever the hell that means. Game journos who once panned games like Nier Automata's 2B when it was released are now praising it as an example of good looking character that many women cosplay to (because they know they'd get slammed for criticizing a now established character like her)., but Eve from Stellar Blade is too sexy/curvy and unrealistic? At the very least, these yahoos should try to be a little more consistent, don't you think? Her body is based on a Korean woman, albeit a Maxim model, but it's real, yet western journos (IGN) are saying having her character's body is unrealistic, and that women would unalive themselves when men comparted her to them, I shit you not! With games costing a fair bit of money, I'm being more discerning when it comes to games I play, decent remakes like DSR is fine by me (though Nicole was again deliberately uglified as is the norm) as gameplay is still good. But I'm not touching games that are "made for modern audiences" (which include a lot of woke stuff), also do note that male characters are often rendered well, well enough to resemble their real life actors/models, and are presented as being very buff or manly, female characters, on the other hand, can never be curvy? Sorry, my money, my choice and I choose to play more based games, but IF you enjoy and relish playing uglified characters, with various included SJ messages/storyline as 'bonuses', more power to you! Also, other than not at all curvy female characters, they are presented as androgenous looking with male facial features, making them look like trans...if you like that look, fine, your money, you can buy whatever you like. I don't like where AAA and western games are going with all these (trans looking female characters, race swapping, look at SBI and BGG influenced games, black female leads (no objection to any female lead, but all the time?) so I'll stick to what I like. For me, gaming is a form of escapism, I do NOT need to see 'real life' reflected in games (something more idealized would be preferable), life is ugly enough as is, I don't want it in the games I play. Oh yeah, to prevent myself from getting involved in a pointless debate, you're so ignored henceforth....
  11. Does the Realme GTS 5 Pro fit that budget in your country (IF it's at all available)? Really good specs and about comparable in price to a mid range Samsung like the A55, but has pretty good flagship specs in the 8 Gen 3 chipset, 256/12GB, 256/16GB config and up....144Hz screen, 6.78" screen.....
  12. i've given up on my XBox and MS XBox games, lack of interest in XBox games, lack of exclusivity since I believe many XBox games can be found on my preferred platform, PCs. This is especially so after the recent MS XBox announcement that female characters in XBox games cannot be curvy (in the right places), I hate when an agenda is shoved down my throat. I'm not willing to pay for the console and games which does NOT cater to my, and I believe most gamers, desire, hell, even women like playing attractive characters. PS upcoming release of the PS exclusive Stellar Blade has me convinced that getting a PS5 is a wiser move, so I'm waiting for the release of the PS5 Pro come end-of-year'ish, 45% improvement over vanilla PS5 is nothing to scoff at.
  13. i have a 3900X + 2x DDR4 4000MHz RAM @ 3600 + Sapphire RX 6900 XT and I don't feel like I'm missing anything in the games I play (DSR, UT3, Battlefield series, COD series) at 3440x1440 75Hz (old Freesync monitor). It really depends on the games and res the game is being played at, obviously at lower res, the GPU is stressed as much, so the onus on better framerate falls the CPU....again, it depends on the game and engine used. So far, my R9 3900X is doing well paired with the RX 6900 XT.
  14. Should work at default, assuming cas timing is same, and for better compatibility, are made by same manufacturer (even different manufacturer, just ensure that CL timing and voltages are same). One thing for sure though, do NOT try OC'ing or tweaking the RAM....
  15. Bah, I'm sick and tired of arguing with those fragile souls who wish to be locked up in their walled ecosystem. My bud has always expounded on the benefits of getting an iPhone (better resale value, better support, just work trope, etc), when I put it to him that since he thinks so highly of iPhones and Apple in general, why does he NOT have an iPhone instead of Samsung that he usually buys (he's presently using a Flip3 and an S23 Ultra, his wife uses an iPhone). He usually change the subject after this....
  16. i have a Fold4, and while it's a great phone for surfing the net with its larger screen real estate, its camera system is somewhat lacking. Same goes for the Fold5 (though I've heard the Fold6 might have better cameras). IF you wanna stay in the Android ecosystem, that is, not locked into the Apple walled-garden ecosystem, then why not the the Galaxy S24 Ultra which cost about as much as the iPhone 15 Pro Max? I have an S24U as well, with 7 years of updates promised by Samsung, it should stay relevant for a while, or at least better than those with 4 years support (like my Fold4 and Flip5). The cameras on the S24U is just about as good as the 15 Pro Max, perhaps with edge to the latter, but still even for the non-pro user like me, the pictures shot with the S24U is a fair bit better than those shot with the Fold4. As for gaming, the S24U with it SD8 Gen3 chip is blazingly fast, fast enough for any modern games. I'm a fan of its AI functionality, I like circling an object/item and having it instantaneously showing me the result of my search, plus being able to add effects to pics I've taken. I got a feeling I'd be hanging on to this beast for quite a while....
  17. Sometimes, I believe it's down to home Wifi setup and settings, for example, I got my friend to download DevCheck Pro so he can monitor his battery and other usage and such. He then messaged me that according to the app, his Asus (flagship router) WiFi is 154Mbps, while his Link Speed is 34Mbps (which is fine for him, though I believe it should be way faster). I then checked with mine, both my WiFi and Link Speed are rated at 1441Mbps. BTW, he has a Samsung S23 Ultra and I have an S24 Ultra. WiFi connection-wise (WiFi6), his phone should be about as good as mine. However, I do agree that the A12 is a basic entry level phone, great for its price range and at the time of release (circa 2020), but don't expect too much from it as it uses a Mediatek chipset, known for being budget friendly rather than performance. Not dissing on Mediatek, they perform well for their price range, heard the new Mediatek platform are pretty good. I have a Note10+ 512/12GB, it precedes the A12 (circa 2019), but because it was a flagship phone, it does come with WiFi6 capability, though I doubt it'd be as fast as my S24U. Edit - Speak of the devil, he's just messaged me, his WiFi and Link speeds are now up at 720Mbps, I believe he'd made some changes after our comparisons yesterday. Still, his speed is half mine, and I use a generic WiFi6 router.....
  18. I have the S24U, my bud has the S23U, and honestly, other than the 7 years of security and OS updates, and for the 330USD difference, the S23U seems to be the better buy. I have the Fold4, and a Flip5, so getting the S24U makes sense to me as I lack a slab type phone. For me, the 7 years software update is a big factor in my decision to get it. The AI functionality portion of the S24 series should not matter as the S23 series (I believe, or at least, the S23U) would be updated to include the AI portion as well. Heck, even my Flip5 would get the AI update as well. IF the OP can afford the 330USD difference, the promised 7 year software updates would be a good enough reason, for me at least.
  19. A pic of the Dbrand Obsidian skin for my S24 Ultra, includes a spare all black skin just in case the Obsidian skin proved to mess with S-pen and Magsafe devices. A shot of the cases I'd gotten, yes I'd gone overboard, I'd gotten the CaseDept case because I had a voucher from the shop, so it was pretty cheap. Oh yeah, my S24 Ultra is in there with the Obsidian skin applied.
  20. Look, OP had not mentioned that his monitor comes with the cable, if he did, then yeah, use it. Besides, DP2.0/2.1 cables aren't that much more than DP1.4 cables.... Again, IF it were me, I don't mind throwing a few bucks to a good quality cables just so when I upgrade my GPU and/or monitor, the cable would be far better suited. But hey, IF you can afford an RTX 4090 + 4K/240Hz monitor but wanna scrimp on cables, that's fine with me as it means less than nothing to me.
  21. Why not just get a DP2.0/2.1 instead of a cable that 'just fits' your present needs? I don't have a 4K 240Hz monitor, yet I use DP/2.01/2.1 cables for my monitors. Just like my PSUs, I've always gotten PSUs that are OP'ed, like a 1500W Enermax for my 2nd rig, a 1000W Plat PSU for my main rig (where 850W would suffice).
  22. I have a Z Flip5, Z Fold4 and an S24 Ultra, but will only talk about the display sizes of the latter two. For transparency, I wear bifocal specs, so my eyesight is far from good. I have no problem reading articles on both, definitely have an easier time with the Fold4. While the Fold4 has the edge with screen size, I do not notice any speed difference between them as they're both pretty fast and responsive for regular daily usage. With that said, I can say that the S24U feels like it's more than just a phone, I've been messing around with its AI (as in Advanced Intelligence) and its search and picture processing magic is simply incredible. I think the Fold5 will have these AI functionality, so that's a plus if OP's leaning toward the Fold series. I can post a pic or two with screen size side-by-side comparison if you want it, kinda lazy to do it now but will do so if need be.
  23. Pre-ordered a Samsung S24 Ultra Titanium Violet, will drop by to post a pic or two when I get it in a few days.
  24. IF your monitor does not come with a DP cable (most commonly supplied cables are HDMI), then I'd suggest you go for broke when it comes to cable. I'd suggest a DPLink/Club 3D/Silkland/etc VESA Certified DP2.0/2.1 cable to meet present and future needs. All my HDMI (2.1) and DP (2.0/2.1) cables are the latest and greatest because I might upgrade my monitor and TV (looking a 144Hz 65"/75" VRR AMD F-sync Premium TV). When I do upgrade, my cables are ready to handle the new resolution and refresh rate.
  25. IF pure rasterize high framerate gaming is the target, then the RX 7800 XT would be the obvious choice, cheaper and generally faster at rasterize gaming. A 1080P fast refresh rate GPU, even does 1440P pretty darn well. Unless you need nVidia proprietary tech/hardware like CUDA cores for productivity usage, the RX 7800 XT with more VRAM and great rasterize gaming performance would be the obvious choice.
