  1. So this issue started yesterday; after no noticeable differences made to the computer that would even remotely influence clipboard. I run windows 10 Pro 64 bit. I thought it would just be fixed by a quick windows update; Updated but the same thing is happening. Its driving me absolutely freaking mentally insane. I can cut with Ctrl+X; But when i press Ctrl+V nothing happens, when i right click to click on Paste - its grayed out as if nothing was copied. Does it on Notepad.exe, Chrome, Steam, name an app and it cant copy and paste to it. Please i request of the techiest of techs to answer how i can fix
  2. Tried everything hardware wise (Even CMOS resets); But working from 10pm to 10am i decided it was time to call a friend. So i hit him up on Discord and we discussed things; He decided I should check the Bios settings even though cmos reset would have set it to default values. There; It turns out that the Onboard Sata Controller mode was set to AHCI. That was not necessary as it is a 7 and a half year old computer. Default values should have been IDE. So I changed it to IDE after being informed and advised by my friend. Lo and behold. It booted. Straight into windows. Straight through that Dank Windows XP starting chime; and straight onto a stable desktop. I thank everyone who tried to help I appreciated the efforts
  3. Tested with different in-working condition RAM; Tested with different in-working condition CPU; Tested with different in-working condition PSU; Tested with different in-working condition SATA cable - All of these did not work Tested with a different motherboard of the same socket but of the DDR2 flavour. - this worked. it boots and loads all the way into windows fine. How do i go about diagnosing whats wrong with the previous motherboard? I need to have a solution and it up and running by Monday. The mobo i have now will not fit their chassis as theirs is a custom Acer OEM case/mobo/PSU
  4. I have; That one also does the loop just like the computer did originally
  5. Sorry; i meant its giving the windows looping thing. Starts up and loops with its own 1333MHz 2GB stick as well as the test 1333MHz 4GB stick; But gives a ram error on my 1866MHz 4GB stick and doesnt even boot with that one,
  6. Tried that. It completely rejected my 1866MHz dimm; Did the same error with its own 2GB 1333MHz dimm and then did the same error with my test 4GB 1333MHz dimm
  7. Thats beside the point right now. If i dont manage to fix her PC; she wont be able to do her businesses invoices from next week. And its all probably because of something simple and over-looked most likely.
  8. No, All those options you see there (Safe mode; Networking; Config; Normally; Last known good) all do the exact same loop. Safe mode starts launching things and as soon as it gets to about 'AVGBID' then it restarts. There is supposed to be a BSOD when it does restart (but it doesnt happen because the disable restart thing keeps turning off) and the error it gives is 'STOP' and then references to what looks like HDD or Ram hashes
  9. Has just out-right rejected my brand new DDR3 test dimm. Long beep for ram error; But its own ram works fine. Will go grab a different 1333 mhz chip from another pc real quick
  10. PSU is out; Doing the same with a second PSU; Going on to ram now.
  11. I didn't ask names when i asked her. She told me it was accounting software. I asked because i had offered her an upgrade to Windows 10 while i was there on a previous job
  12. It may be time to move on; But until the software these people run move on to windows 10; they ain't. I've tried all the basics of XP troubleshooting to no avail.
  13. I did not replace the PSU; It was just a konky fan; But i can test with another PSU to. Specs are to follow: --------ACER ASPIRE AX3910------------ - Windows XP Professional - 2GB DDR3 - Intel E3400
  14. The machine is a clients'. They need XP for the software they run. There was troubles with a noisy PSU fan; And after fixing those and rebuilding the computer, It started up normally - went to the windows XP start up screen; and restarted. It did this in a loop. Over and over and over. I've tried every possible hardware fix in the book from there. A complete rebuild. Same thing. Keep in mind the system was working fine before i started work on it that afternoon. WhatsApp Video 2017-09-09 at 17.45.11.mp4 From there i spent legit from 10pm; till now (5:30am) finding a working XP CD Iso with the recovery command line. I've tried: Fixing a (possibly) corrupt Boot.ini Fixing a (possibly) corrupt Partition Boot Sector Fixing a (possibly) corrupt MBR I have yet to run HirensBootCD; But i feel if the windows CD didnt achieve anything; what will HBCD? Please help me! What must i do D: I only have like half a day left and i still need to study
  15. Props to you sir. This pic inspired me to fix my GPU sag with a simple fix: Chopped in half KFC straw Fits the theme with hints of red and everything!
  16. Fraps; Nvidia Geforce Experience; Steam-Ingame (Needs to be enabled in settings)
  17. I'm trying to make a simple portfolio on an Excel spreadsheet that makes use of queries to get live values from the internet for things such as the current bitcoin price and the current exchange rates. I can reference these values in other cells/sheets; But the moment i make a calculation based off of that reference or off of that amount - It gives me the #Value! error in all of the cells that depend on that cell for its calculation and all there after. I did things to-a-queue as shown in this video. His however works; Mine doesn't. Please tell me what im doing wrong. Im using Office 2016
  18. Lol, i wouldn't dare. Those are the front panel and USB headers
  19. Thanks guys; I just needed some reassurance here. When the port popped off; one of the pins popped off inside with it; so short of soldering the whole thing together again; This port wasn't going to be seeing any new life anytime soon. The jobs been done Tx
  20. So after nearly 2 years of strain and regular unplugging to clean and re-cable manage (every 3 to 6 months); My SSD's sata cable (One with a latch) had a tonne of strain on it; which bent the plastic port almost to the point of falling off of the board. Well - About 2 months ago; That was exactly the case. The port popped off in routine cleaning; Along with the sata cable. All that remains currently is the pins in its place. For the 2 months i've been using it since - i've positioned the sata-port (the plastic part) back over the pins to keep them from touching each other and shorting. Im busy rebuilding my PC into a different case and am wondering - can i now take the plastic part off; and clip the exposed pins down to as far as possible with my cleancut dikes?
  21. Thanks for the replies; I'll try that Windows key thing from now. I thought there might've been a key combo for it - Now i know Thanks all
  22. Every now and again I'd have Steam or Spotify up on my TV (1360x768) maximised, and then I move it over to the other monitor (1920x1080) and it will turn out like this: It stays this way until i close steam/spotify (By clicking in the spot where the close button (X) used to be in the top right corner and start it back up. Please tell me how i can fix it - On latest GPU drivers for Nvidia GTX 970
  23. Hi Please understand when I ask what do they do - that I am curious about their means to recovering data from 'failed hard drives'; The process behind all the advertising. I know about the class 100 clean rooms required to do the job - but what exactly happens in there? What process does my drive go through if I was to hand in a 3TB clicking hard drive that isn't detected by Windows or Linux? If it's software they use what softwares do they make use of? Do they replace and swap out potentially non working or defective parts of the hard drive with new ones? I'm really curious and can't find any articles online except advertisements stating that their company is best for data recovery. Thanks
  24. I just read a steam forum discussion discussing a similar idea to what you've discussed toward the end of your post there. The issue is that these are 2 seperate gaming PC's that are going to be played by 2 seperate people simultaneously; and would like to be able to use a sector of the NAS, as a 'hard drive' for storing the steam library on, which the two steam accounts will just hook into
  25. Hey, Thanks for the reply What would be the best option that will allow 2 computers to hit the drives (4 4TB in raid 5; 5TB allocated to the sharing of steam games) simultaneously? (Because tbh thats what i had thought the LUN would do when i had been setting it up)
