  1. Attempted to follow the guide but at step 5 within device manager I don't have " Microsoft Hosted Network Virtual Adapter".
  2. Hi, I have a Dell XPS15 and I'm trying to host a virtual router from my device. I have tried updating my network card but apparently it is all up to date. In order to make virtual router "hosted network support" needs to say yes. Any suggestions? Cheers, Lachie
  3. I figured out the problem was the pre-installed McAfee anti virus. I really hate that pre-installed bloatware, I didn't even know it was running. Went looking through the running processes and saw it there. Long story short McAfee is long gone.
  4. Yea I have tried installing both the 32 and 64-bit. Neither work...
  5. Hello, Today I bought a brand new Dell XPS laptop that's running Windows 10. I got home and tried to install Chrome however I keep running into a "Installation failed due to unspecified error. If google Chrome is currently running, please close it and try again." I have read through the forums and tried all suggestions. I have deleted the Google folder from the AppData multiple times and tried to reinstall with no luck. I then tried to install using the offline installer and still ran into the same issue. I also checked and there are no instance of chrome running within the Task manager. I then did a full windows reset and installation and tried to reinstall again. Still I'm getting the same issue. Any help/suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks, Lachlan
  6. Hey guys, Im currently trying to upgrade my system to incorporate a 240 gb SSD and 2x 2TB Hdd (RAID 1). All my data is currently saved on a 3TB internal HDD. If i do a fresh install of windows and configure the new RAID array without the 3TB HDD plugged in, if i then plug it in will i be able to access the data on it? cheers, Lachie
  7. Hey Guys, Currently in my system I have a 3TB HDD and a 120GB SSD. The SSD is so full that it is causing my PC to randomly restart. In an attempt to fix this I have bought a 240GB SSD. Also I was given 2x 2TB Seagate Constellation ES drives. I am hoping to run these in RAID 1. As I am in Australia and my internet struggles to push 7MB/s I don't really want to loose all my games. What would be the best way to setup a new boot drive and RAID array whilst trying to maintain all my data?
  8. I have the following query and its returning the result of resource id #4; $account = mysql_query("Select type from adminaccounts where username='$username'") or die(mysql_error()); If I run the query in mysql the result is "admin" as I require. After doing some reasearch I am aware that resources are special. Could you please tell me how I could change this to just display the "admin" that I need for further if statements. thanks, Lachie
  9. Thanks for all your help. It has given me some food for thought. cheers, Lachie
  10. Well the school originally said no to a PC I made up for under 2k then suddenly we have 10k to go wild...
  11. Hi all. A school I work at has recently granted us $10k AUD to put towards a rendering machine. This computer will be used mainly for rendering projects in Autodesk Revit along with some potential video rendering in Adobe Premier/After Effects. Seeing as most of the rendering for Revit is done on the CPU I was thinking maybe a consumer grade 8 core intel CPU. Happy to look at server grade stuff. This along with some good workstation grade GPU. Any help is appreciated. Cheers, Lachlan
  12. I noticed when i got my H110i it had a fingerprint on the thermal compound so I might go ahead and replace it.
  13. Just then doing some graphical renders at 100% it was 80C. ato about 25% its 50C.
