  1. Hey there. My company is using Citrix and sadly I have no access to anything before opening it. When I want to listen to some music while working I have to open it inside Citrix and the audio quality is very bad. I was wondering if this is caused by my company's laptop and its hardware or is it Citrix? If I connected a DAC/AMP would it change anything? What are my options here? Thanks in advance for helping me out.
  2. Ok I've trimmed all the pins and so far so good - everything works as it did before (hopefully), thank you!
  3. Yeah, that's what I thought. Do I need to secure it with some liquid tape afterwards or?
  4. You mean like pulling all the pins with pliers or something? Wouldn't this damage a circuit? How about cutting to the minimum level to make sure they don't touch each other?
  5. Soooo... while trying to mount my new cpu cooler I accidentaly pressed on my gpu (which is quite heavy and very long - gigabyte 970). Turns out the PCIe slot just ripped itself out. After investigating I was surpriced how poorly these slots are designed. Only one little stud is holding the whole plastic in place... Anyway, some of the pins are intact but some are bent. I was thinking if it was safe to keep on rocking with this motherboard, what do you say? I have considered replacing it but I have an old setup - MSI Gaming 7 Z97 along with i5-4690K. This mobo is very hard to find these days (talking about a new one) and if you finally do find it, it is soooooo expensive. I couldn't believe how expensive Z97's and Haswell Refresh still are... Another option would be to buy a new gen mobo but then I would also have to change my cpu which is still awesome and very sufficient. Not to mention the costs of buying these 2 parts... So, back to square 1 - is it safe to use my current mobo? What would you advise? Thanks in advance.
  6. Thank you for your help but as I wrote in my first post - I am not looking for a headset. @Aereldor You've been very helpful so far but I still have more questions. Putting snowball ice - is there any decent mic which can be attached to HD 558? Also let's say I like having a little more of bass while listening to some music - what brand/headphones on 558s/598s level would you recommend? EDIT: I have done more research and I think it all comes down to: 1) Sennheiser HD 558 2) Audio Technica ATH-AD700X (to get a good price I would have to order them @US Amazon though) 3) AKG K612 PRO 4) AKG K701 What do you guys think?
  7. I forgot to mention that currently I am using Yamaha AX-540 connected to my MSI Z97 Gaming 7 motherboard (realtek alc1150 codec). I also have Asus Xonar D1 laying in my drawer, because my currenty headset is USB so I couldn't use the soundcard (don't know if it's actually better than the onboard audio). I have also heared that with 598 you have to play with EQ everytime depending on what kind of music you are listening to - is this true?
  8. I have been looking at 558 and 598 for the last hour and it seems like people lean more towards 598 despite the costs. Are there any important differences between those two? Blue Snowball iCE is available, however I am not sure about the mic on a stand - I simply have no place to put it. It would have to stand next to one of my monitors and I don't know if the angle (about 45 degrees) would be good for picking up my voice.
  9. There are many different stores and it's hard for me to summarize the costs but here's an example: Sennheiser HD 518 - ~460 PLN (~$120) Sennheiser HD 558 - ~560 PLN (~$148)
  10. Hello. My old headset which is Razer Kraken 7.1 recently broke and I am about to buy a new gear. I have promised myself that the next ones are going to be headphones + mic instead of a headset. I would prefer something from Sennheiser but they have some many different models that it confuses the hell out of me. My budget is somewhere near 600-650 PLN which is about $150-170 tops. Like I have already mentioned in the title, the new gear will be used mostly for gaming. Movies and music come right after this. It is important for these headphones to have a possibility of somehow attaching a mic (v-moda or?) to them. I do not look for an expensive mic, it just has to work with TeamSpeak, Skype and so on - with decent quality but nothing fancy. While searching the interwebs I have also stumbled upon Philips SHP 9500 (probably the only model which I would consider apart from Sennheiser). They tend to have awesome reviews despite the low price. Are they really THAT good? Thank you in advance for your help!
  11. Hey. I came back from work yesterday and powered my pc right away. I noticed my connection was down and when i opened chrome I got redirected to some sort of a page with a huge TP-LINK logo and some info that my firmware is out of date (3.7.0) and it is crucial to upgrade it. There are some links below to .exe files (Windows /Unix/MacOS). Whenever I try to visit any other page I get redirected back to this TP-LINK thing or I get a message about having no internet connection. I've tried restarting my router but it didn't work. Then i've downloaded and upgraded my routers firmware through smartphone (to 3.14.3). The weird thing is that my firmware was 3.13 (TL-WDR4300) and not 3.7.0 as it was mentioned in that message. What is more my G Data keeps closing chrome cause it detects fingerprint. Also task manager won't open for some reason. I never click some fishy links and everything was fine before I went to work. What could have happened and how do I fix it? Please help me, cheers! I've attached a photo of this issue. Sorry for the bad quality and the fact it's in polish but you can get the overall idea how it looks like.
  12. Yes I did. I even tried with raw drivers without the Killer software - didn't work. My bother has some old mobo and it's affected also, so I doubt drivers would cause the problem.
  13. Well, I've been using this exact router ever since. Didn't have any problems like that with my old connection (pre fiber). Also why would it be OK with the PCI card - when connecting using that card the problem literally goes away.
  14. Hello there. I am having problems with my connection. I get disconnects from every game I try to play but here's the thing - when using ethernet on my mobo (MSI Gaming 7) I get dc's but when using some random gigabit ethernet PCI card it's all good. My brother has the same problems on his PC (he doesn't have any other card but mobo). Looks like it's a ISP/router problem but why it works perfectly on my PCI card? These problems started when I upgraded my connection from a regular 10mb/s to fiber 100mb/s (same ISP though). Stuff I have: - Zhone zNID 2400 Series Indoor GE (Active Ethernet) ONT (provided by ISP for fiber connection) - TP-Link TL-WDR4300 router (WAN connected to Zhone; both PCs connected by cable to this router) Would be awesome if someone could help me.
