What size sli bridge do I need to use for the MSI x99a ack v3 mb. The pci slots for sli are 2-way mode: x16/ x0/ x0/ x16/ x0* which from the picture of the mb looks like it would be really pci slot 1 and 5 if the mb has slots for all the spaces the computer case has for expansion slots. I have both the MSI long sli bridge and the EVGA 4 way bridge in my wish list and don't want to buy both and have an sli bridge I don't need. Thanks in advance to all comments.

My daughters Asus G75vw was upgraded from Windows 7 to 8.1. The thing keeps rebooting at random times whether plugged in or on battery and whether gaming or web surfing. I can not get the thing to factory restore. It will not recognize the system image disks or the Windows 7 64bit recovery disk. At this point I am at my end with what I can try. Can I just pull out the original HDD and put in a new one and get a new Windows 7 os to put on it or must I keep the old HDD to make the laptop work? I noticed a windows 7 product code sticker on the back of the laptop... can this be used to put Windows 7 back on a new HDD? if so, how do I do that with no disk? A huge thanks in advance for any and all advise, tips, or solutions for this problem.

Thanks for the replies. I don't know if I installed it in uefi mode. but will look for windows boot manager to see what that is or says... I don't know how or what a stress test on an ssd is but will look that up online or on youtube after I check for bios updates from Asus and firmware updates from intel for the ssd.. Thanks for the responses and directions to go look to see why it keeps disappearing from the boot drive of the uefi.

Help, my daughters Asus x99 deluxe motherboard will every now and again lose the ssd boot drive. I have to keep unplugging all the other devices plugged into the sata ports and restart the computer to get it to boot up windows. I built this computer for her Christmas present so she could do her collage work on it and it is not much help if it can't boot into windows because the drive disappears from the boot drive menu. This is her system. 5930k 32gb 2400mhz memory gtx 980 Asus x99 deluxe Intel 730 240gb SSD WD 2tb HDD Asus dvd player Corsair RM 1000 Water cooled with a 240mm top mounted radiator I don't know if the case matters for this problem but it is the Corsair 780t with a fan controller. I so hope I can figure this out soon.. she is back in school now and she needs to be able to get to work as efficiently as possible in order to manage her time for all the stuff she needs to get done for her classes. My daughter is taking game art at a local university. This is what she is or will be doing according to the schools website." Game art is an integrated discipline that involves the process of designing art, content, and rules for traditional and interactive multisensory games." She wants to be the person who makes the characters for games.. She has an Asus G73 or 75? gaming laptop but it bogs down or hangs up or whatever it is call when she does her drawings and make them move.. She mostly plays skyrim but not at the same time. . I thank everyone who has responded to this... I guess I will go with the cooler I received if cooler master will not trade this one up to the updated version. I watch a linus tech tip video that said ram was important for content creation so I went for broke... and yeah.. now I am broke. So glad she doesn't like cars or car modding.

This is the build it is cooling.... if i do have to keep it and it catches fire will cooler master or amazon replace everything? corsair 780t corsair rm1000 intel 5930k crucial ballistic 2400 32g 240g ssd wd black 2tb gtx 980... waiting for the 8gb version if possible... she wants that one?? whats the difference to 4gb?? and stickers shock at what it is costing me!!!

Okay everyone... I'm a dad who just received a cooler master glacer 240l from amazon for my daughters Christmas build... after the purchase I read that it catches fire... I have also read that the old version was replaced by a new one that has plug in power wires for the pump... I was sent the old kind.. Will this catch fire or is that a very rare and not to worry about it thing? :unsure:
