  1. It's been over a year now, is 11 performing any better? Should I go ahead and bite the bullet and upgrade?
  2. I reduced the visible chunk distance to 30 and that seems to have solved my issue. Thanks for the replies.
  3. I have a framework laptop but I don't have the budget yet for an external GPU. The processer is the i7 11th gen and Minecraft is able to run on it with only the occasional lag. What settings do I need to set Minecraft to so that I don't have to pause every few minutes to let the CPU catch up? Most games you can set the performance based on your GPU but Minecraft doesn't seem to have that, or at least I haven't figured it out yet. Most of the time I play on my Xbox but occasionally I have to play on my laptop.
  4. I purchased a framework laptop during the summer of 2022 and after a week decided to try 11 out. Needless to say I think Vista had a better OS than that piece of crap. I kept using it hoping updates would fix the issues I was having, like MP4’s stored on my local hard drive would buffer. I understand that video on the net might buffer due to your connection but not off your hard drive. Generally 11 was just slow. Now that could have been due to my laptop not having a GPU, but I downgraded 4 weeks ago and haven’t had any issues. Has anyone else been forced to go back to 10? Or am in the minority?
  5. That style is what I'm looking for, but it's gotta be cordless with a mouse. I'd also like it to have an internal battery. I don't want to be replacing batteries every couple of weeks.
  6. Thank you, but I want to avoid Cherry MX Switches. As I said above the keycaps are prone to popping off when it hits the floor. You have to realize that when your going 45 to 70 mph and you slam on breaks, the keyboard is going to hit the floor hard. Especially if you forget to secure it, which I'm prone to do. Don't get me wrong, If I weren't in a semi, I'd prefer cherry mx keycaps.
  7. I currently have a corsair gaming K68 mechanical keyboard. Unfortunately it keeps being knocked onto the floor when ever I put my breaks on too hard, which happens daily. As a result the keys are constantly being popped off and lost in tiny gaps in my sleeper (like under the bed and in the hvac unit). Plus it is simply too big and clunky for being in an enclosed space. As much as I prefer the feel of a cherry red key switch, I need something more rebust. I'd like a cordless mouse & keyboard combo with a good rechargeable battery. Batteries are expensive at truckstops. Does any one have some good recommendations? My budget is around $100 - $150. I need a combo as I only have 3 usb ports and 2 of them have external drives in them. Ps I like the cordless mouse I'm using (a ONN gaming mouse I got at a walmart somewhere after my previous one fell one to many times and stopped working). Things sliding off my bed or desk onto the floor is how most of my stuff dies lol.
  8. I need a new mouse and I was hoping someone could recomend one. It needs to be Wired and be able to track on dark brown bed sheets. I am a Trucker so I dont have a lot of room in my sleeper. I of course like RGB, so thatd be a bonus. I have a Black Web gaming mouse currently and up until about a month ago it worked fine on my bed. It must have hit the floor one to many times lol. Now it only tracks on hard services.
  9. My drive has my entire library on it. Music, tv, and movies. It’s about 4tb’s full. I’m actually thinking of adding 5tb’s more. Ten years ago I carried 2 huge binders of Dvd’s (about 500 movies). I’m so glad that I went digital.
  10. Also I typically download SD iTunes movies for space consideration
  11. Sry, been driving all day. My target budget is around $400 and I have a 5TB external (USB 3) hard drive full of iTunes tv and movies. I typically use a m2 drive paired with a 500GB Ssd drive for my PC drives and the external for movies. I’ve looked into the new R Pi 4 but apparently iTunes doesn’t support ARM processors. Also I do have a Apple TV 4k but as I’m often in areas where I have no internet it helps to have all my movies already downloaded.
  12. I drive a semi truck coast to coast and I need a small PC that will run iTune movies but will also not be in the way. I have tried using a laptop with an external drive but overtime the vibration and bouncing has made my USB ports start to not work. I have also tried putting a small tower in my passenger seat and I don’t have the USB issues with that as I do with the laptop but it is simply in the way most of the time. I have been looking at Mini PCs as they have a smaller profile than a tower but have the benefit of the usb being replaceable. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?
  13. I have limited space as I drive a semi truck and I’m having issues with excess wires from all my electronics. I would like to put my Xbox and my Apple TV on the same power cord. Do they make a power splitter that would fit those devices? (After all they both use the same cord) Or can I just take 2 power cords and splice them together? Could doing this damage them?
  14. This was what I was thinking but I wasn’t really sure. Thanks for the replies.
  15. I recently purchased 3 years of Nord VPN. Now I’m a little confused about what devices need it installed on. I use my phone as my primary hotspot as I am a coast to coast truck driver. Now should the phone be the only one with the vpn installed or should all the devices connecting to it also have the vpn installed as well?
