  1. Update, just randomly started working... stops again and we're just going to pull the second card out, she's planning an upgrade after she's finished her PhD anyway, we just can't afford to at the moment.
  2. it's any game, even games that support SLi and benchmarks (where SLi rigs are topping the leaderboards)
  3. I can't get SLi working on my partners PC no matter what the second card does nothing an in the case of black desert online as a negative effect on performance , she has two GTX970's an Asus ranger Vii, intel i5-4440, corsair 850w psu. GPU tweak shows the second card (even when both cards swapped) doing nothing so far I've tried using both cards one at a time in the top PCI-e slot using both cards one at a time in the lower slot changed SLi bridge flashed both cards VBIOS and motherboard BIOS checked both cards are running 8x reinstalled GPU drivers many times and tried a clean install made sure SLI is enabled in nvidia control panel swapped card possession in case swapped PCI-e power cables over. I'm totally out of any ideas of what to try next? any ideas?
  4. Hey all, Girlfriend is having a problem with her Samsung T1 external SSD, works fine on my computer but for ages on hers it's been a little odd, she has to switch USB inputs until she finds one that work. today she's come top use it and it won't work in any of her USB inputs yet works fine in my computer, USB thumb drives also work totally fine in her rig. I've tried making sure USB drivers are upto date, made sure USB power settings aren't switching USB's off. we have pretty much the exact same computers I have in my sig but she has 2 GTX970s in sli, both running windows 10. Any ideas? she's got a load her PhD work on the T1 that she needs to use on her desktop

    EMI

thanks for the reply! just he is broadcasting/receiving. We are all using wired mice/keyboards, the internet is all wired, my computer (being the closest is the one causing the problems, during our fault finding any computer in my spot caused interference (we moved all the computers around just to prove that it wasn't just mine causing the interference and that proximity was the problem which is about 4 meteres through a wall) my girlfriends computer which is at the other side of my office does not cause interference unless it is moved closer. I've ordered a set of those ferrite rings you linked (thanks ^^) and I'll give those a try

    EMI

Not sure if this is the correct section but I feel like this is a power supply issue I live with someone who is into armature radio my girlfriends, mine and his (doesn't use when he is using his radios) cause interference with his radio, is there anything I can do to stop this? He has asked me to try Ferrite Rings on any of my power cables. anyone know a little more about this than I do? or even better any ideas how I can combat this? it seems any computer causes this issue. Mine and my girlfriends are both using quality corsair power supplies but all of are desktops are causing the interference. We've tried running without any monitors switched on, changing extension cables, using an extension reel to draw power from another room, pulling out graphics cards/soundcards even ram and hard disks.... no matter what we try the computer running causes interference.
  7. Hello I can't see any network devices or locations on the this computer in my network however my girlfriends computer (Identical to mine) siting next to me, plugged into the same router can, both PC's are cabled rather than wifi. both computers have the same network and sharing settings, I've tried most of the basic trouble shooting steps like turning off firewalls, anti virus and reset network settings anyone have a fix?
  8. Evening all trying to re-setup my WD EX2 ultra as a network location however I can't see it in my network. both my pc and the drive are wired into the same router It's plugged in, running shown as a device in my router and I can access the drive via the mobile app and mycloud.com I can view and edit all my files via the app and website but not as attached storeage (something I did before the rebuild of my pc) even using the WD mycloud setup program for windows says "No WD EX2 found" EDIT: I can see other devices in the network anyone have any ideas? Cheers! EDIT 2: Electric Boogaloo; I can see the drive on my partners computer that is wired into the same network as mine.
  9. Hello! My 850evo is on it's last legs (and too small) so I decided to replace it with an m.2 250gb 960evo I got from work stupidly cheap. I'm running an i5-4690K in an Asus ROG maximus VII Ranger with a GTX980ti for graphics powah with a Asus xonar STX for my sound when I installed windows on my 960 evo I can't get the sound card drivers to install, I've tried changing PCI-e slots too but I get an error telling me the card doesn't exist. if I switch back to the sata 850evo and the sound card works just fine. any ideas how to get this to work? I can't just ditch the sound card as I have very high impedance headphones and I like how easy it is to switch to and from my studio monitors and headphones. thanks in advance
  10. I see, thanks, odd that it still charges the phone any way I can boost amperage and still retain connection to my computer? Or test what my phone is taking? Or any cables that are more efficient?
  11. USB 3.0 port from my mobo i/o I know I won't be getting 2.4A so no fast charge but I shoudn't be getting a disconnecting problem by simply using a longer cable, works fine with the short cable provided, that's too short to use!
