  1. disregard, somehow managed to fix this with methods already used. my computer is weird.
  2. For some reason, all of a sudden my 3rd monitor has decided to not activate. I can see it in the display settings and have tried unplugging and replugging things, redownloading nvidia drivers with clean installations, tried to activate the 3rd monitor in nvidia control panel, even downloading a clean os but for the life of me cannot get it to activate. All 3 monitors are asus vg248qe's and are all connected via displayport cables into 2 gtx 980's. Any comments or solutions to this issue would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Thanks for the advice, I would think that 3 Titan X's would be enough considering it's double the VRAM of the original Titan? Also if 3 PG278Q's were used, would the G-Sync even be beneficial with such a massive resolution?
  4. I had just taken a look at these but I only see 1 displayport output? Would prefer 120hz if possible Yea I got the one now to start out with for OS, will be transferring to a 1tb 850 Pro most likely
  5. Hello everyone, I am looking at setting up 3 1440p monitors in surround and was looking at the ROG Swift PG278Q. I get that they are outrageously expensive but I was wondering if what I have now is powerful enough to drive these monitors to their full potential. Is there a better graphics card to power these? Perhaps the Sapphire R9 290x Vapor-X 8gb card? Or 2? possibly dual Titan X's? Open to suggestions, thanks PS: I am also open to other monitors, 1080p included, but I am looking for extremely thin bezels (also willing to debezel the monitors) with preferably 120hz refresh rate or higher, also 5ms or less input lag. Current setup: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/xzNtbv
  6. ok so pretend your talking to a complete idiot (yes, me) and when I would hook up 3 monitors, would hooking up 2 to 1 card impact performance? or is it like a pool and all gets divided equally when you put the cards in SLI?
  7. Im looking at building a surround gaming rig and was going with a z97 mobo (not sure which one yet) and a 4790k processor. The issue with my rig is that i was looking at getting 3 980's in SLI and i realized that the 4790k only supports up to 2 at 8x mode. Am i correct that this cannot work or is 3 way SLI possible with this processor? If this processor won't work then i assume that going X99 should be the next option, and if so should i just go for the 5960X then? keep in mind no budget really as this is being built over time
  8. ok i know this comment will sound stupid with how much money im putting into this, but when i connect my monitors to this build, id connect one to each graphics card correct? (this is my first build im looking to do and i know its expensive please spare me)

  10. I'm currently looking at building a 3-way sli capable gaming setup with 3 1440p monitors for surround gaming. There are 2 motherboards that i am currently looking at and they are the asus z97 ws and the gigabyte ga-z97x gaming g1 looking for opinions on which one to get or if someone else has another option please tell me.
  11. something i forgot to mention in the original post, will this setup be able to run a 1080p with 60fps on the triple monitor? if possible a 1440p 60fps with better monitors? if not what would i need to upgrade?
  12. thanks, exact kind of advice i was looking for, one thing, for three monitors would it be better for 970s in 3 way sli or 2 980s in 2 way sli?
  13. Hello I'm looking to build a "balls to the wall" pc that will perform well for a period of time. I've been a console gamer for a long time and only about 2 years ago got into pc gaming with an expensive gaming laptop. I definitely love the surround gaming aspect, trying to set up a 3 monitor display with this build. I know that I will get the "you don't need this" and "start smaller for a first build". I get it, what I'm looking for is some advice if I am going too over-the-top with some items, but I'm still looking for a very high end build. I've never built a computer but I've seen many reviews, comparisons, and build guides to figure out what to do. There is no set budget really, but keep it (somewhat?) reasonable. Onto the Specs: Motherboard: Asus x99 Deluxe, possibly Asus Rampage V Extreme for a black and red color combo CPU: Intel core i7 5930k CPU Cooler: Swiftech H220X RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum 16G DDR4 2666 (4x4Gb) GPU: Not sure on this, looking at dual 780ti's or dual 980's offer opinions prefer nvidia though Storage: intel 730 series 240Gb SSD and a Western Digital 4Tb Black Case: Corsair 750D Power:Corsair AX1200i Optical Drive: Asus BC-12B1ST/BLK/B/AS OS: Windows 7 home premium extras: ergotech triple monitor desk stand, Asus PB238Q x3, corsair k70 keyboard. thanks again, Dr Burrito
