  1. Guys, Been patiently awaiting a half decent deal before jumping on the bandwagon of the GTX 9 series. Scan UK have some of the lowest prices available and are currently offering free next day delivery on most of the available 9 series stock. My purchase - GTX 970 Gigabyte G1, Total saving of approx £20 compared to yesterday; not taking into account the new Nvida / Ubisoft game deal. Best of luck with your potential purchases Link: http://www.scan.co.uk/shop/computer-hardware/all/gpu-nvidia/geforce-gtx-970-(1664-cores) P.s - If you are looking to purchase the Gigabyte G1 edition, be quick as the stock is low!!
  2. Perhaps - However, what's the difference between the panel on the "Outdated" one is using and the ones used by the Qnix / X-star etc?
  3. I have considered these monitors and have no "Badge snobbery". I'm just finding it hard to decipher which of the Korean monitors is the best for a gaming / photo editing; Colour accuracy is an important factor, not for myself, but my Fiancée (An amateur photographer). I realise that this subject can generate quiet a bit of heat due to the divided opinions, but any help would be greatly appreciated. Please if you state one being better than the other, could you justify your choices?
  4. I've heard that. However, given the aesthetics of the Samsung over he Korean panels and the longer guarantees etc. that seems like the better option. Cant find many reviews on the Samsung however and Korean monitors seem to force a divided opinion.
  5. Guys, Looking for some advice - Samsung PLS - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-167-SA Vs Qnix / Xstar etc. The monitor will be used mostly for gaming and photo editing. Let the debate begin Any information would be greatly appreciated!!
  6. First modification partially complete - paint the case to match colour scheme.
  7. Guys, Let me know what you think of this build, (Black / Grey and yellow) theme. Please give your take on the build and suggest any potential improvements, keeping in mind that the build listed is very near my maximum budget. Some notable points: Motherboard - The gigabyte is a definite, due to their current upgrade promotion. Graphics - Torn between a gtx 780 vs 970, I know the differences are marginal; However the 780 seems to be approx £50 cheaper. CPU cooler - I like the look of the Rajinitek Triton, so would probably stick with stock cooler until that comes out. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/fKQ8xr Any help would be greatly appreciated. cheers, Jordan
  8. Wow, that's some deal. I'm definitely more inclined to get the gigabyte variant now.
  9. Yeah I agree, I'd like to differ from the more generic colour themes. Shame the Z97 M power board lost the slick looks of the previous Z87. Got me thinking however, would the i5 4690k be compatible with the z87?
  10. Guys, Looking for assistance in deciding which z97 mother board to pair with my 4690k. The theme I'm going for is black / yellow / grey; I've spotted a few motherboards that may fit the bill, however I'm undecided on which offers the best price - performance ratio. The computer will be used for gaming mostly, with the occasional use of photoshop and its associated programs for editing purposes. Here are a couple of the boards I've spotted so far: Gigabyte Z97X-UD3H-BKMSI Z97 Mpower Any help would be greatly appreciated. - Budget is £80 - £140
  11. Guys, OCD may be kicking in here, but looking for advice on performance vs aesthetic preferences. The computer will mainly be used for gaming and photo editing - My current colour preferences are Blue & Black or Yellow & Black which will go with the overall "Lightning" Theme. People seem to recommend the MSI gaming series boards over both the Asrock (Extreme) & MSI (M power) series. Unfortunately, the gaming series boards have red accents which would not suit the rest of the build; Any other board suggestions which would match the theme and offer greater or similar performance would be appreciated. Cheers, Jordan
  12. The MSI M power Board - I was wondering the main differences / advantages between the power series and the gaming series. I Like the colour accents on the Mpower board and the general look in comparison the the gaming series. Either looking to go Black / yellow or Blue / Black theme. The only problem with the 144hz Asus, is the TN panel - Not great for colour reproduction, which would be a necessity for my partners photo editing.
  13. On the Monitor Subject - I've recently stumbled upon these Korean monitors (Crossover 290M looks tempting) that everyone seems to be rating highly. Are these worth the additional risk, what's your thoughts? Also - Why do you favour the gaming series over the M power? What improvements / advantages does it offer? As I've said, I'd like to stay colour coordinated. I know this can pose problems, however I'm not keen on the now generic Red / Black theme being rolled out by the manufacturers.
  14. Thanks for the quick Responses guys. Few more questions: Motherboard - Why do you favour the gaming series over the M power? What improvements / advantages does it offer? As I've said, I'd like to stay colour coordinated. I know this can pose problems, however I'm not keen on the now generic Red / Black theme being rolled out by the manufacturers. Monitor - Is 4k really necessary and would a 970 cope with that sort of resolutions?
