  1. For me, it'd be the Kuhler 1250. Why? Because I don't have one.
  2. Oh, also, can I ask the difference of VA panel vs IPS vs TN?
  3. But, would it affect the game/s that I play much if the gpu pushes too much fps?
  4. Hi Guys! So, I am building a new gaming rig (i7-4790K | MSI GTX 970), and I want to pair it off with nice monitor, either 24" or 27", at either 1080p or 1440p, and maybe a 120/144Hz one at that. I will mainly use it to play Titanfall, but also to watch TV series/movies/anime. Would also play other kinds of games on it. I also would like it if you guys could educate me on a few things regarding which monitors to buy. Also, while you're at it, can you also explain (A) and (AA)? A) When I went to look for monitors, I saw the Ezio FS 2434. It was beautiful, but when I asked about the refresh rate (which is 60hz, I think?), because I would wish to have a 120/144Hz one, the salesman kept saying things like "the current new monitors have no need for 120/144Hz, because those 120/144Hz monitors are outdated and are for older models because [of something along the lines of 'couldn't handle output of graphics cards']. These new monitors don't need 120/144Hz [yada yada yada]." TL;DR (A): Basically, the salesman was saying monitors that have 120/144Hz are useless/obsolete because old monitors "couldn't output enough of [something]". I kinda thought he was bullshitting me, but is it true? AA) Is the difference between IPS and TN paneled monitors all that great? I mean, my friend has always been pushing me to buy IPS over TN because the color is so great, so beautiful, and all that. Would an IPS 120/144Hz monitor be very expensive?
  5. So...... After picking the parts, what I finally selected was the following...... I had somehow really made a big splurge. 6. Dude, thanks for the help! I guess only the GPU would be subject to any changes, if any. Now, it's time to play the waiting game for payday!
  7. Thanks for the list! Tentative list: (please note that most of them were given to me by a friend, so I'm not sure which model of that particular brand he was talking about) Motherboard: MSI Z97 Gaming 7 CPU: i7 4790/K RAM: 16GB (Kingston 8GB 1600 x2) SSD: 256GB Plextor M5P HDD: Seagate 2TB PSU: Cooler Master 650W (something about 650W is ok) GPU: Is GTX 780Ti even worth considering? If not, GTX 970. Also, friend said something about buying MSI's version of GTX for "better compatibility" with motherboard?
  8. Well, I would like to try OC'ing it during colder weather, but, i don't know, tbh. If building/assembling the parts aren't too hard, watercooling is okay. This is my first pc build, so, I'd prefer it to be a bit more stress free, if possible.
  9. Well, the prices that I see are usually in USD, so, I was just using USD, then, would probably just convert it later.
  10. Yeah, in USD. That's probably around HKD 15,000 +/- 1,000?
  11. Hi! Made a wrong post in the wrong forum. So, I've been watching some of LTT videos and the builds, but I would really want your input for the PC build. 1. Budget & Location Well, firstly, I'm living in Hong Kong, which, some of you may know, is full of small, cramped living spaces. I've uploaded a few pictures of where I plan to put the PC. (either 1. somewhere one of these arrows are pointing. Sorry for the mess, I live with my little cousin. or 2. lower right side. The pc in the pictures will be gone when I have the new pc.) My budget is probably around a total of around $1,500.00 to $2,000.00, hopefully including monitors as well. But, to be honest, I am more than willing to go over my budget, if need be. For the GPU, I kind of prefer nVidia, so, is the GTX 780Ti? Or GTX 980? Would prefer better cooling, since the weather here could get really hot, and don't want too much heat in the card, if I can help it. Also, please suggest the other parts? 2. Aim Well, it's going to be used for gaming purposes. I'm currently playing Titfanfall. But, I plan to play Far Cry 4, and others. Most important is that I want to play the games in high or ultra. 3. Monitors Only 1 monitor. I just plan on buying 1080p monitors. 4. Peripherals For Windows, I'm currently using Windows 8 for my laptop and all the games that I play run with no obvious problems. But, is Windows 7 still better than Win 8 or 8.1? 5. Why are you upgrading? Don't really want to play on laptop. I've been "planning" on buying one for a year and a half now.
  12. Holy Crap. POSTED ON WRONG TOPIC/FORUM. How do I move this? Sorry O_O

Which aftermarket would be best (for performance and cooling), since the weather here could get really hot, and don't want too much heat in the pc, if I can help it.
