I play most games, but I play play League of Legends a bit more often (more like the past 3 years) and (I say this very loosely) try to slightly competitively (although my internet likes to think otherwise .. stupid lag)

Other than my PC gaming, I don't really game on any other system other than the glory of anything Nintendo! Zelda, Pokemon... what more could a guy ask for <3

My current build is listed below but I have a few plans to actually change components and swap out for better and non-broken parts :D

You can find me on steam and League of Legends with the same username.

  1. I like to keep my case fans quite, as most quality Quite fans can provide a good amount of air flow throughout my system, I have used Noctua and Antec TruQuite fans and they give plenty of airflow but are pretty dam silent at the same time.
  2. Hi guys, I have recently picked myself up a BitFenix Recon fan controller to install into my BitFenix Prodigy build PC. When I went to install it I realized that the Recon required the use of 2 internal USB headers, but unfortunately the one I am using is for my Antec Khuler 950 for monitoring. My first question is, Does the Recon need to use both USB internal headers(I read somewhere you can just use one, I would like come clarification on this one)? If I can use only one then can I use the Recon to monitor the Khuler 950 and not just the case fans, meaning I can remove the USB header of the Khuler and put the recon in. My PC Specs are here: Intel i5 4670k Gigabyte Gaming 5 ITX Z-97 motherboard Antec Khuler 950 Kingston Hyper X Predator 8GB RAM Kingston Hyper X 3K 120GB SSD WD 1TB Blue HDD XFX Radeon 3GB 7970 BitFenix Reacon BitFenix Spetre Pro 200mm and 140mm BitFenix Fury 550w PSU BitFenix Prodigy Any help would be really appriciated
  3. I have a Nexus 2013, in which I don't use all that often, but it is always on. It usually goes on charge every 3-4 days depending on how much I use it. I use mine for Netflix, Skype and reading manga mostly so nothing to taxing when it comes to usage.
  4. If you still have issues with it, it might be worth calling Microsoft, as long as you can prove to them (which isn't all that hard) that your only using it on one PC then they will give you a one time code to reactivate it.
  5. I think I've done about 10 PC's, and rebuilt my desktop a good 3 or 4 times now
  6. Techically my first build was more of a mod of an older build swapping components etc, I was probably about 15 then (Currently 19). It was something along the lines of below: Intel Core 2 Duo E something 4GB ddr2 Kingston RAM Foxconn MicroATX motherboard (Not sure on the model) Asus GTX 240 or something really old 500GB HDD and other than discs drives that was the lot really. My first full on build was just over a year ago now, I went all out and got some really nice kit. Antec 300 2 Case Asus Z87-K Motherboard Intel i5 4670k CPU Hyper X 8GB Predator RAM 2400mhz Antec Khuler 950 CPU Cooler Hyper X 120GB X3 SSD as OS drive WD 1TB Blue for storage drive Bunch of Antec True Quite Blue LED Fans XFX Radeon 7970 GPU Cooler Master M2 Silent Pro PSU LG BluRay Drive It served me well, Unfortuntely I made a few mistakes when building and some mistake when buying components so I had some issues fitting the cooler. The PC was dismantled and rebuilt into another system which is currently serving me really well. I only really changed the Case, PSU and Motherboard and the rest I have left I will use on another build later on.
  7. I have quite a nice one, a bitfenix fury gold. Pretty immature response imo, but if you must know I am a pc technician myself and I like to test different PC components. I already have a an AMD card sitting in my current machine (xfx 7970 oc edition) and I haven't used nvidea or any of there technologies since the gt something 240... A really really old card. It's all in the name of knowledge!
  8. Yeah partially the the reason I want to try some of the features such as Shadow Play and PhysX (even though the latter isn't a seller much anymore from what I'v heard, but Mirror's Edge, one of my favorite games apparently looks amazing with it). I may wait for the 960, my only issue is it will probably be quite expensive, considering 970 is nearing £350 whereas the 770 is 220 . Although if its around 200ish I will definitely consider it. Overclocking I am very new with, so might hold back a little as I'm still working on the processor overclocking, but I might get around to it if my PSU doesn't explode from over powering it. It's only a 550w
  9. I'm from the UK and probably buying from Overlockers, Amazon or Ebuyer depending on who is cheaper when I buy it Where I am the 280x is a little bit (by like 20 pound) more than the 760 but I am pretty set on a 760 if I'm honest. I have thought about getting a 770 but it is over the £200 mark and I don't really have all that much money and I am probably going to wait a month or two till it comes down or I find a deal or something. Thank you for the suggestion though.
  10. I am only really looking at the 2GB card, anything higher is out of my budget. The 2GB is right price I want to spend.
  11. Thanks guys, pretty muchs sums it up quite nicely. Should have expected the WF to stand for WindForce! So now I guess my choice is between the OC or the WF3 - after reading the descriptions it looks like the OC card (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4663#ov) actually has the WF3 cooler on it anyway? Is this right or am I missing something here? Thanks again for the great replies!
  12. Hi guys, Looking at getting myself a Gigabyte GTX 760 but after looking on the Gigabyte website I noticed there are multiple versions of the same card. Here's a link to the site I'm looking at: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/list.aspx?s=43&p=52&v=1#1%3B52%2C53%4053%4053%2C54%7C1%2C8%401%402%2C244 , Hopefully this has filtered it, but as you can see there are 9 different versions of the card. I understand that there are two different versions for RAM sizes, the 4GB and the 2GB and I am only looking at the 2GB version so the 4GB can be excluded. Can anyone explain the difference between the cards OR tell me which card is the best. As far as I can tell in the naming scheme there is the OC (which I assuming is over clocked), WF3 and 2 (No idea what this is) and Revision 1 and 2 which I am assuming 2 is better. Thanks for your help in advance! Jack
  13. Thanks everyone You have all been really helpful. In reply to most questions as I said I only need to buy the Mobo, case and PSU, the rest is being taken from an old PC I had which just took up way to much room I will be looking at getting the 550w PSU that I have been looking at. Thanks again, Once I finish building I will write it up with pictures and post in the builds forum.
  14. Hi Guys, I am planning on rebuilding my old PC and putting it into the following configuration but am not all that good with PSU wattages and need a little help making sure I get a sufficiant PSU. I generally use this site for my PSU wattage estimates, how good is this site and how close can you be before its dangerous for the PSU. My build is going to be the following; Intel i5 4670k Gigabyte GA-Z97N-Gaming 5 ITX Motherboard Kingston Hyper X Predator 2400mhz RAM Gigabyte GTX 760 R2 An Intel 530 Series 120GB SSD and a Kingston Hyper X 3K 120GB SSD Western Digital 1TB HDD Blue Corsair Hydro H105 AIO CPU cooler Bit Fenix Recon Fan Controller Bit Fenix Alchemy LED strips and it will be sitting in a Bit Fenix Prodigy Mini ITX Case. The PSU is one of the few items I actually need to buy (With the motherboard and case) for this build and to keep the costs low I was looking at a 550W PSU rather than a 620W. The website I linked states that my rig should use about 413W which if this is correct I am assuming will confutably run my system? Cost wise, if I need to I don't have a limit on budget, but if I can use a 550W PSU confutably and save a tenner I will Every little helps Thanks guys, your help is much appriciated
  15. Yeah you probably can, to be honest you probably could get away without it but I personally really love this board. It works great and since its sitting in the living room WiFi would be pretty handy. I have one of these in a friends system and the AMD equiv in my girlfriends machine so I really like using them.
