  1. Good pun haha Got new cams yup. Cam sheet specs are in OP. Planning to get higher compression pistons, aftermarket ECU and ajustable cam gears at the end of the year but will stick with the stock engine + new cams for the moment. What is this. Pimp my ride? should I put 2 tv's inside and then add a wine brewer and a 6" tv on the rear guards too? lol You'll have to rub her tip and make her purr before you can get too excited.
  2. Replaced the main and big end bearings, also new piston rings on the 4AGE. That's the block done. Time to reshim the head and the engine will be all go!
  3. Yeah I think they just call it KiwiCams because it is an NZ company. Quite a few places over here have something New Zealand oriented in their names
  4. 100% off topic. But might be interesting to some. From Desk to car, here is my latest project. Bought me a KE30 that needs some doing up to get her perfect. Plan is to drop a worked 4A-GE Blue top into it for some more power. Don't know when but at some stage the car has had a new worked 4K engine in it and maaan does it haul. Dragged off a 160hp Subaru Legacy! Though it guzzles down too much juice being twin carbey'd so the 4A-GE should give better fuel economy with a little more power. Here are the trademe photos. Looks a lot nicer in those photos than it actually is! And here we have the work that I have started on her! Basically just the Bog, fixed the vinyl on the front door cards as some muppet didn't do it properly the first time. vinyl doesn't have enough over hang so had to staple it in pretty much. Installed some component speakers. Wired in the new head unit. Replaced original creme door arms, door window rollers and window handles with original black ones. Ones that were in there had been painted red and then eventually it had all scraped off so looked piss poor. Also too much red in the car need to spice it up with some black. Some more chrome bits would be nice too. Will definitely put some chrome side mirrors on it Here we have an update. Primed/painted rear wind screen cutout as had rust and when previous owner painted the car red they didn't mask around the wind screen seals properly so a green rim around the seal was clearly visible and my OCD was too troublesome. Put new bucket seats in as getting in and out of the car was a pain due to the steering wheel. So got some reclinables that I find much better (though not as comfy as a fixed seat) Time to fix up the left sill and other bits and pieces as the front and rear wind screens are in. Today I painted the sill, and a little bit on the back. Next task will be to clear coat it all which I will do in a few days Forgot to do the glovebox when I did the dash! Started bogging up and trying to get rid of all the cracks in the back of the bumper from previous owner who backed into a power pole. Gave it a coat of prime to clearly outline areas that still needed to be sanded down. After sanding for what seemed like forever I am happy with the result. Back now all painted, clear coated and buffed. Bumper back on. NOTE: Am going to get it chromed, and get new tail lights on the bumper. But am a lot happier with how it is looking at the moment. Chroming the bumper will be at the end of the list of things to do, will get the 4AGE dropped in it first. . Have been quite busy lately. Have sort of come to a halt with work on the car as I am spending time rebuilding the 4AGE. Stripping the engine down It was clear that it had a blown head gasket, and probably ran low on oil for a while. Decided it was best to replace the bottom end and main bearings. Full gasket and also piston rings too as well as doing a hone. So this will basically be a brand new 4AGE once it is done. Also got the cams ground down at Kiwi Cams. They did a cut that they always do on stock ECU 4AGE's that go mint so will see how they go. Powerband from 2500rpm up and a slightly aggressive idle. Received my central locking kit in the mail which I have eagerly been waiting for. it is not till you don't have central locking do you realise what a pain in the arse it is. Getting the kit mounted on Also got my new tail lights which look 100x times better. Went for a nice drive down a gravel road too. It was 30 minutes of joy I assure you. Cannot wait to put a hilux diff in this with an LSD Cam sheet for anyone interested Time to start the motor. Taking pics of every angle so I know exactly where things go just in case. Even though I have a good idea anyway. After it was stripped down I got some citrus based degreaser to clean the block up a bit. Has come up very nice. Also that plate got bent in shipping to my place but will sort that obviously. Getting the crank pulley off. Should have used a breaker bar but the only 6 point socket I had was 1/2" and my powerbuilt sett is 3/8" Will get more pics up of the process of getting the new bearings etc
  5. So here is what the new desk will look like. I am just chopping and changing my original desk, however still using the draws and probably the legs. Am only be going to change the top bit around.
  6. Thanks for the kind comments guys! Good to see that people are still looking at this thread log A small update actually; the desk is undergoing some serious surgery in the next couple of months. Have got the sketchup model done but not sure if I should post it yet, seems a bit premature! But the desk will look completely so keep an eye out ALL of my WC parts came from http://www.performance-pcs.com/ I agree that Orange is an expensive colour, I spent $550 nzd on the UP7 just because it was black/orange. I would much rather have spent $300 on a good board that was orange/black but it's a much rarer colour
  7. Very easily. measure length of your 24 pin. Times that number by 24. That gives you the length you need for that cable. But I always add a meter for tolerance incase I bugger one up. Do the following for the rest of your cables. Generally I get 40m per psu I do. Also when it comes to shrinks I buy pre cut. 48 shrinks required for the 24 pin, so I'll buy 60. Just for tolerance. lutro0customs or mdpc-x will have the best quality sleeving available
  8. Check out the lutro0customs website. he will have the connectors you are looking for
  9. Got them from here, long list of available options http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result&search_in_description=1&keyword=kobra+smart+clip
  10. I use PerformancePCS and FrozenCPU. But depends on pricing on both. note: if you use OCN5.5 you will get 5.5.% off your order at PerformancePCS
  11. It didn't end up selling, which isn't all bad I guess! I might strip it down and use it as a normal desktop (so take the glass top off, and the frame on top and just use the bottom) Then will sell the table once the second one has been completed. It was there at $6000 nzd Ahhhh, I would say the new build log will start in about 2-3 months. Need work to slow down a bit before I can start any new project!
  12. Have decided to sell this beast http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=683173658&ed=true Bring on Custom Made WaterCooled Desk REVISION 2 !!!!!
  13. I got Grid 2 if anyone was interested, I figured out how to do it Just copied over the original cracked (reloaded) grid 2 folder to the \steamapps folder and then proceeded to THEN install the game via steam. It said "discovering old files" and then all good! Obviously during validation it removes and adds files that have been altered with (cracked .exe and steamapi etc) and changes them to the correct one.
  14. So, I have got a game that I 'acquired' from the land of the pirate ship, and then have bought the game on Steam (So now I am not naughty) Is there anyway to get steam to recognise that the old game content that I have can just be indexed by steam? Ie, instead of REDOWNLOADING the whole entire game, it can just update the files that I have all ready installed Whenever I move the content to the destination (the complete install) it still continues to redownload everything (Yes, the game will be under \Steam\steamapps\common) Thanks bro'skies
  15. Looking awesome Love to see other desk builds! However, what will the height be of this desk? Looks to be even higher than mine, so I hope you're tall
  16. The AC router will only benefit you if you are streaming things over the network, eg playing a movie on your Xbox over wifi from your PC. Otherwise no, if you are just using it for internet only a normal wireless N router will be just as good
  17. Okay, here is a picture. imagine the outer box is one big piece of paper. The inner box is a smaller piece of paper. Once you put the smaller piece of paper on the top, there will be the outer box hanging out the bottom. also; The left draws were screwed to the underside of the top, aswell as the railings, and the legs too Hope that answers your question
  18. I can live with RAID 0, I have a 10TB server so would do weekly backups Will have a looksie now Feel free to link something too!
  19. Building another spare PC that will have 4 250GB SSD's in it in RAID 5 and looking for a RAID card (a very good one at that) that will deliver me the best performance, best reliability and comes with a battery. I had an M5015 but read a lot of reviews saying that they are designed for Server use rather than personal use on a desktop. So what is the RAID card for me? newegg/eBay links would be easiest
  20. Thank you all very much for your criticism, it has all been a contributing factor to what my final design will be. I should have the new design up within the week currently on holiday at the moment!
  21. What 'Lip' are we talking about? Can edit a pic in paint and circle the area if you'd like
  22. Budget is no problem, will check the above out thanks
  23. I shall be getting onto this in the coming weeks, probably early January though. Busy at work at the moment.though, the asrock board is dead and has been returned to the person I purchased it from. Anyone got a good ITX board they'd recommend? And no, not a ROG board... Overpriced piece of shit lol
  24. A Western Digital Green drive would be fine for storage. But as above you will struggle to live record 60fps 1080p to any hard drive By a bigger SSD (256GB or larger) and just copy them over the the WD Drive
