  1. After posting my original post I found a program called twrp. I don't know if you know anything about the software bit it seems like it could fix my issue if I could find the right version to flash to my phone.
  2. As the title says, my s7 edge is boot looping. I took it to a t-mobile tech and they were unable to fix it. I've also tried factory wiping the phone and flashing it with new firmware using odin and neither has worked (Odin3 says it succeeded but the phone is no different after the whole process). After all of these options is it safe to say that the phone is done for? Or are there some other things I could try, thanks!
  3. This seems really decent, I should have specified she want's to play heavily modded minecraft and not just vanilla but I think that cpu and 16 gigs of ram should do just fine. What would you reccomend for a PSU?
  4. Budget: Roughly $600-$650 USD Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Minecraft, FPS games, Blender, Photoshop, Video editing Other details: This build is for my girlfriend, I already have a 1070 strix that I will be giving her. I intend on pairing this pc with a 1080p 144hz monitor (The monitor isn't included in the budget).
  5. Tried downloading something on my ssd instead of hdd and it downloads fine. I think this hard drive is defective, I've only had it for 2 months.
  6. As the title states my steam download speeds start off strong and climb up to my max (about 50 MB/s) then it drops down to 0 and occasionally reaches 10 or 15 MB/s. My internet speeds are about 630 Mbps down and 570 Mbps up (did a speed test before positing this). I've tried switching my download region and clearing my download cache and it hasn't helped. Thanks for any help!
  7. So I checked all of my connections and my 24 pin connector has never been able to fully clip into the motherboard. I made sure it was as connected as it could be and my pc started up completely normally (CPU fan included). So I think that was the cause, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
  8. I posted about this pretty late at night yesterday and didn't get a reply. So I'm sorry in advance if this is bad forum etiquette. Recently 1 of my ram sticks died while I was playing a game. I've replaced the ram stick and since have had a ton of weird issues such as error code 00 on my Asus mobo (which I fixed once by swapping the positions of my ram sticks) and now my cpu was at abnormally high Temps. My heatsink was hot to the touch so I know it's picking up the heat, but the fan isn't spinning. When I start my pc all fans spin up except for the cpu fan and I get the 00 error again. (except this time swapping the sticks didn't help). My PSU is an evga 750W psu that I've had for about 4 years.

  10. is there software that would make moving all my games and files easier?
  11. When windows did the disk recovery, I had an option to keep my files but reinstall windows. Would this option be enough? or should I do a full clean install.
  12. It's an asus board and the two digit error code just says A0. Which after looking it up, seems to be a normal code.
  13. My boot drive is a 1TB sata ssd. And I don't have any spare ram to check. But I do have memtest from when I was figuring out what was wrong with my ram. I haven't ran memtest on the new ram stick yet.
  14. When I try to start my pc, it loads forever on the post screen. Once I force shut down the computer and relaunch, it goes through automatic disk repair and launches normally. My computer has changed a lot recently, making it hard to pinpoint what is causing it. I recently swapped out my GPU from a 1070 to a 3080, and one of my ram sticks died so I replaced it. The problem started some time after these changes happened.
  15. Yesterday one of my 8 gig ram sticks died, leaving me with only 8 gigs of single channel ram until I get it sent back for rma. Today I got my 3080 (Yes my ram died 1 day before getting the card of all times) and I was hoping only having 8 gigs wouldn't impact my performance and I'd be able to finally play cyberpunk at a good framerate and good quality settings. But I'm getting 30-40 frames on the ray tracing medium setting. My gpu sits at around 30%-50% usage while my 8700k sits at 100% usage (With cyberpunk using up 80% of that). Also my ram usage goes up to about 90% usage but that's way less concerning that my CPU. Could my high CPU usage connected to my ram somehow? I get this same bottleneck in COD cold war too.
  16. I was playing cyberpunk and my pc hard crashed, no blue screen or anything. It just froze then turned off. Now when I try to turn it back on it just turns on for a few seconds and then turns off and tries again endlessly. I've tried plugging it directly into the wall to make sure the power strip hadn't gone bad. (I have my 3080 coming in on Sunday rip) What troubleshooting steps should I do to try and figure out what it is, thanks! Edit: Was getting a memory not read error so I tried switching around the ram sticks and turns out only 1 stick successfully posts (Tried both separately in the same slot). Does this mean that the other ram stick is probably dead?
  17. I am in college and am looking for a good laptop that has 16GB of ram for all of the tabs I need for school. Also, I'm looking for a laptop with a decent GPU so I can play some games when I travel. My budget is around $900 give or take $100. A high refresh rate screen would be a good bonus because I'm used to my desktop monitor. I don't know much about laptops or laptop processors so I don't know if an i7 is really necessary for my needs. Thanks for the help!
  18. I currently have a 3440x1440 160hz ultra wide and am going to be upgrading to a 3080. A 3080 super or whatever it will be called leaked with 20 gigs of vram instead of 10. I know some games at 4k can use more than 10 gigs of vram, but I don't know how that scales down to my resolution. Is 10 gigs enough for my resolution, or would I be better off waiting for a 20gb 3080. Thanks!
  19. I'll be upgrading to a 3080 and am wondering what cables support 4k 144hz. The 27GN950-B is a 4k 144hz monitor, but reviews say it doesn't have hdmi 2.1. So is that monitor just unable to be fully utilized because of its ports? Thanks for the help.
  20. https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-27gn950-b-gaming-monitor This would be what I would get instead. Are there just no cables right now that do 144hz 4k?
  21. I recently got an lg 34GN850-B and it has a stuck pixel. So I'm able to either return it or get it repaired. But Seeing the 4k doom benchmark got me thinking. Would 4k 144hz be a better gaming experience than a 1440p ultrawide at 144hz? I'll be getting a 3080 on launch day (Hopefully) so I'll have the gpu power for either. I mainly play fps and mobas but I really like single player story games too. Which monitor do you prefer? I've never seen a 4k desktop monitor so its hard for me to judge. I know you can't give a definitive answer as this is subjective, but what would you choose and why? Thanks!
  22. Current specs: 8700k, gtx1070, 750W psu. I just got an ultrawide 3440x1440p monitor and as you could expect my 1070 struggles. I usually get 50 fps at low settings in triple a games. But I expected it to be about that. My goal is go hit 144 frames at max/high settings with ray tracing on in modern games and future games for a while. I understand that we don't have real world benchmarks for the cards yet. But in your opinion would a 3070 be enough? Or for my needs does a 3080 make more sense. thanks!
  23. Currently I have an 8700k and a 1070 GPU and a 1080p 144hz tn monitor. I am wanting to upgrade to an ips 1440p 144hz monitor to make my games look better. I play a mix of easy and hard to run games. In the harder to run games I am ok with only hitting around 60-100fps on high settings becuase they are usually single player story games in which I'd rather have the nicer visuals than high fps. In your opinion does it make sense for me to upgrade my monitor first or my GPU. My budget for the monitor is around 500 usd before tax. The LG 27GL850 27 is what I had in mind. But I also know asus made a monitor that is also an ips panel with a fast response time. What would you recommend, Thanks!
  24. Power saving is turned off in her phone's system settings and she didn't find a power saving mode in the discord settings.
