Thank you all for these replies! I didn't have any luck but turns out it was my monitor's issue! Apparently my 1440p monitor and GPU combo were not playing nice together and when I connected it to an older 1080p monitor it worked fine and it up and running (somewhat). Now my issue is that my SSD is still formatted at MBR not GPT so I still can't upgrade to Windows 11. Think I'll bite the bullet and buy a NVMe drive and load a clean install of Windows onto that so it is the correct format and use the wipe and reformat the SSD as additional storage. Might be a bit of work moving SSD -> NVMe and then my old mass storage HDD to SSD but should give me much faster memory.

I'm currently building out a new PC, but I haven't upgraded my GPU yet as I wait for the 50 series super cards to come out (both to see their performance and potentially lower standard 50 series prices). The new equipment: Ryzen 5 9600X Asus Tuf Gaming B650EM-E Wifi 32GB KLEVV DDR5 RAM The old GPU: Gigabyte GTX 970 Wind force I can get to the BIOS with all the components connected but NOT with the monitor connected to the GPU (only motherboard). I've got the lasted BIOS on a flash drive and can load that using the BIOS Flash thing. I assume it is a comparability with the old GPU that is the issue but I can't figure out what settings are doing it. When I turn in CSM the LED indicators completely turn off (but the system still has power and fans still running). The GPU was moved out of my old rig and into this one only moments before and still works fine. Any ideas on what BIOS settings are causing the issues here or if there is something else going on?

Planning a rebuild after 11 years - Please vet

I was curious about the impact of the VRAM. I originally planned for the 5060 Ti but with the current offer of BL4 for free with a 5070 or higher GPU it balances out the cost of going with the 5060 Ti + BL4 vs a 5070 with the game for free. I assumed getting the higher card would be better overall performance but if the VRAM difference is that big maybe the 5060 Ti is the play. -

Thank youfor doing that for me! The price itself I had already checked and my budget is a bit flexible so I wasn't worried about that. My main concern is if there are any issues with the plan or part choices that wouldn't compatible (or have known issues with the original motherboard choice) -

I've found a different, non-Asrock motherboard with PIe 5.0. Hopefully that covers the convern about damage and I don't think there are many additional features I need from the motherboard. Unless there is something glaringly missing -

Oh wow OK, thanks I'll definitely do that -
Question: 1. Is it worth waiting for the 5070 Super potentially coming at the end of the year given it is expected to have notably higher VRAM? 2. Would my current GTX970 be compatible with the system below if I hold off on buying a new GPU? Of course it would be a severe bottleneck but would only be for a few months. Budget (including currency): $2,000 AUD approx Country: Australia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Borderlands 4, MMOs, Baldur's Gate Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): My current PC actually still runs smoothly which is great, but it is running a GTX 970 and Intel i5 from the same year so it can't play new games. I don't need peripherals but I have a 24" 1440p monitor and a 21" 1080p monitor (will eventually look to upgrade that but no rush). I'm more focused on a smooth gameplay experience and any extra visuals are a plus, I am not competitive though so as long as the game feel smooth I am happy. It has been so long since I built my current PC that I'm not confident I'll choose parts that all work but I've done my best. Any thoughts/advice or concerns about the build would be greatly appreciated! I also want to make a smaller form factor so I would like an m-ATX size so ensuring all components fit and it is adequately cooled is a concern. Plan Case: Lian Li DAN A3-mATX CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X Motherboard: AsRock PG Lightning WIFI B650M AM5 mATX ASUS TUF GAMING B650EM-E WIFI Motherboard GPU: Zotac Gaming RTX 5070 Twin Edge OC (or another GPU of similar size) RAM: 2x16 GB Corsair Vengance DDR5 6000 PSU: SilverStone TR750R GF 750W 80+ gold Storage: Currently have a 1TB SSD, may also get an NVMe if it is worthwhile and for extra storage Fans/Cooling: Not sure here, considering some low profile fan for the CPU though like Noctua NH-L9a-AM5 Low Profile AM5 CPU Cooler I have Windows 10, but the current system won't let me upgrade, I think I can move it to the new system and upgrade but I don't know if I have to buy a new version of Windows or not. I think that should cover all the needed details, please let me know if there is any additional info needed!

Can Explorer prevent downloading another browser?

Well don't I feel like a goof... Thanks Had no idea that causes so many issues and didn't sync when I set it up -
Hi, this is a bit weird. I purchased an Asus Transformerbook (running Win 8.1 32 bit) the other day, started setting it up and wanted to download Chrome. It gives me a warning when going to Google saying the website isn't trusted, it won't download Chrome because it says there wasn't a "trusted connection" and it also wouldn't download Mozilla... When it says the website isn't trusted it says the security certificate has expired or not yet valid

There are a few features I really like about the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge such as the one-handed operation. Is there any way to make a shortcut to toggle this on/off? Or any way to make personal shortcuts to specific apps or actions other than the pre-programmed ones either on the edge panel or just the home screen? Thanks

Thanks for the replies! I might just try to stick it out with Win 8 and see how I go. Otherwise will definitely clean install Win 10

I've been looking for a 2 in 1 for a little while and found the Asus Transformer Book T100 Chi for really cheap (and new), but it seems to only come with Windows 8 and ideally I'd like to have Windows 10. As it's only got 64GB of on board storage I'm concerned that trying to upgrade it would take up too much space. Also not sure if it's even still possible to upgrade for free (I know the free upgrade period ended in June I think) but not sure if getting a new device makes it possible to upgrade for free? Thanks for any help!

Not sure if it's common but I recently bought some skins from DBrand. Took them a week to ship the 2 skins I purchased (payed on the 5th Sept, shipped on the 13th Sept). Still waiting for them to arrive, they say 5-15 business days because I'm in Australia. Surprised it takes so long, plus annoying they don't track shipments. I know it's to make it faster but I never expected it to take THIS long as standard.

I wish we had Best Buy in Aus but I'm sure I'll be able to find somewhere with both on display, a JB or something should! I'll compare them and see how it goes. I plan on traveling a fair bit next year so the 8" has the benefit of being lighter and smaller but it's not a big difference so the 9.7" might be preferable with the larger screen and battery. Thanks again for the help!!
