  1. So atm I've got this shit: Crucial 16GB DDR4-2133 CL16 quad kit CT4K4G4DFS8213 On a ASUS x99-A & 5820K processor. Recently memory prices have gone down quite bit so I could now buy a 2nd equal quad channel kit for a decent price. As far as I know the mobo can handle 2 x quad channel (not octa channel) so I should be fine running 2 x equal quad channel kits, right? Or left? I think it should be fine as far as my understanding goes, but just making sure.
  2. Ty I've just installed latest drivers for my MOBO (which include thing to update bios) and now all 12 show up again. *scratches head* I had updated mobo drivers like just a month ago but am still on first release bios. Weird stuff. Maybe there was a bug in the driver I had installed less than a month ago. Anyway, I'll go ahead with also doing bios update. Edit: kinda feel stupid now. But hey, who would expect update drivers would work if u only done so less than a month ago .
  3. Ok I'll start by trying to update BIOS and see from there, kinda hate resetting options as I dunno by default what stuff to change in bios to make my pc run as it should
  4. - When I open CPU-Z it says 3 cores 6 threads. - When I open task manager it shows 6 threads (showed all 12 in the past) What could be wrong? I've also noticed worse performance lately but always thought it was just driver related.
  5. Hey on my 5y old pc they're located "normally" Hard to overlook if u dunno, even more with sli dual slot gpu's in front of them.

  7. 10 x SATA but can only find 2 on X99S SLI PLUS According to specs 10 x sata but I can only find 2 on the motherboard??? Does it maybe mean that it can handle 10 x sata but that I need a storage controller or whatever to connect more than 2 sata?
  8. Because they decided not to rip off laptop users. With their release of the gtx 970 - 980 they know everybody who buys will "have to" buy a new gpu again short term, certainly if they want to play the latest games.
  9. Neither. 1080 without AA = smooth and good fps. I cannot play with AA on even with 200+ fps, I notice the delay it gives too much.
  10. It's for little kids. You can give me the CM stealth ones.
  11. In my opinion "future upgrading" is only for morons. Because GPU prices never go down a lot, and certainly not enough to justify not buying 2 from the start. If you're gonna buy 2, do it from the start. Else it's just time wasted where you could have had more fps.
  12. The best gtx 980 is the gtx 970. Buy them sli for +20% the price and OC them to the same performance as a 980 and u have a set-up that performs 80 % better than stock 980 for just 20% more in price. Or +50% performance if you compare to OC 980.4
