  1. I installed Lenovo Vantage, updated BIOS, updated everything there was to update, ran system check but it have not helped. Laptop crashed again yesterday when falling asleep and rebooted itself. In event viewer there is (sorry if my translation to english isn't 100% right): Critical message that previously system was not closed properly (cleanly). Error that Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165: network card have returned incorrect value to the driver. BugCheck error with operation results: 0x00000124 (0x0000000000000000, 0xffffc30a255d1028, 0x00000000ba000000, 0x0000000011000402) I have found dump file, which I attached to this post. 2. That's what I'm worried about the most with current overpriced GPU's, because if I was going to upgrade my setup, I'd only upgrade to some high end 4k gaming and video editing setup, so it will serve me many years like this current setup did. But saving money for that will take a lot of time, I really hoped this one will be enough for another two or three years If you scroll down to decoding tab, it doesn't support HEVC decoding. Which is more important, because I can save video as h.264 at higher bitrate, it's not a big deal, but not being able to play it make whole PC useless for that task. Only GTX 960 and GTX 950, which were released later, support it.
  3. I have Lenovo Ideapad 720-15 with i5-8250U, 12GB RAM (4GB+8GB) and AMD RX550 on Windows 10, which is up to date, GPU drivers too. Some time ago it started to freeze when falling asleep. And it got even worse over time. Screen goes black, fans ramp up to max after few seconds and it stays like that forever until I will hard reset it with power button or it reboots by itself and goes into user selection screen. Sometimes it will freeze when I'm waking it up, but it's more rare event. I can't figure out what may be a cause for this. Sometimes it works fine for almost a week (I start it up 2-4 times a day) and then it will crash 2 times in a row. -I increased empty space on both SSD's to over 10GB, but no change. -Amount of cards and videos opened in web browser doesn't seem to affect it, since it sometimes does it even when browser is turned off or when I put it to sleep after reboot when it's still on user selection screen, before logging in. -I increased RAM from 8GB (4+4) to 12GB (4+8), but no change. I have no idea what may be causing it. And it's huge pain, because I have it connected almost all the time to my TV and wake it up with wireless keyboard. If I turn it off or hibernate, I have to open it and click power button. If it freezes I also have to open it and force shutdown or restart by holding power button. Are there any system logs where I could find some clues?
  4. Hello there. I built my PC after Christmas of 2014 (Intel Core i7-4770k on AsRock Z87 Extreme 4 board) and upgraded GPU to GTX 980 in 2015. I was mostly happy with my setup over the years, but now I've hit the wall that I can't go through. My setup is just 1, max 2 years too old to support HEVC (h.265) encoding which is huge problem for me now, because I got into some hobby video making. My mirrorless Sony Camera supports both h.264 and h.265, which I can live with, however newest GoPro cameras don't support h.264 anymore; it's recording only in h.265. The question is; is it possible to add another cheap GPU (if there is any) just for h.265 editing (if there is any cheap GPU for that) or at least change it for better GPU? Or do I need both CPU and GPU to support h.265 and I'm better with upgrading whole PC at this point?
  5. Hello there! I'm curious if there is any way to extend my peripherals to living room, where my TV is. I liked sometimes just sit on the couch and play with pad, for example Spyro or Crash Bandicoot, but moving my whole tower is quite annoying and time consuming. The problem is, it's around 15 meters from my PC to TV. Transmitting image through HDMI does not seem as a big deal, however USB is quite problematic. As far as I understand, most active extenders are only one way (from powered side), so it won't work properly? I mean, XBox pad mostly, with vibrations etc. If it will work at all. IS there any other way, other than optical USB cables which costs fortune? Could I somehow connect it to my router in living room, that PC is connected to via Gigabit Ethernet to stream data? USB at least.
  6. As I said, I changed Windows power plan to maximum performance and enabled everything to full power, but I did not changed anything. What else could block it, if theoretically everything should not be limited?
  7. Hello guys. I have laptop, Lenovo Ideapad 720 with i5 8250U, Radeon RX550 and 8GB of RAM (Win 10). The problem I'm facing is while in game, game stutters massively for 2-3 seconds, then it runs fine for another 2-3 seconds, and stutters again. Over and over again. It happens only when I'm running it unplugged, when I plug it into charger, problem vanishes and game runs fine. I tried changing power plan to high performance, even using custom power plan with all set to maximum performance. I have no idea what else may it be. Someone once told me, that maybe battery can not provide enough current to power system at full usage, but is it even possible?
  8. My dad decided to to buy case with external HDD port, because he's going to buy one,big HDD for a lot of our data and he don't want this disc to be used for houndreds of hours without using this all data from disc.It will be an archive.Yes,I don't like this idea too. Now it's much harder to find good case.
  9. I'm looking for case which have external HDD 3,5" dock.It also have to have good airflow, because I'd like to mount 2x GTX 970 in it,so I need 28cm for both GPU. Limit is 135-140USD.I founded one case with external dock: http://www.thermaltake.com/products-model.aspx?id=c_00001803 but I'm not sure what with Zalman H1(Which looks awesome). It have Hot-Swap docks, but I can't find how it works and if it's what's I'm looking for
  10. Which one will be better?I'm going to use SSD for OS,programs of all types and -of course- games.I know, that Crucial is cheaper, but it's not much,so which one will be the best?
  11. Maybe I should try to ask watchmaker for help? One have shop only 2 kilometers from my house
  12. Propably not It's old mobo and I just would like to sell it,so paying for shipping is not good option even if fix will be free.
  13. It's long story,it'll be a bit hard for me to write in english. So,I have mobo Asus Striker Extreme with LGA 775 socket which was working with Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600.My question is if it's going to work Photo of socket with marked, broken pin: I don't know how to test it now.
