  1. If I were to get the EK block would I have to get the RAM backplate for this to work? Because my cooling loop is going to be cooper piping and the backplate is made of aluminum, which would react to the copper if water were to pass through both.
  2. Hi everyone, So I am trying to put my GPU into my water loop but I am having trouble with my card. So the only full body waterblock I have seen has been by EK, but from research their nickle blocks have had some issue in the past. So, if I am going to stay away from the EK block then the only other option I have is a universal block, but with that being said many people give universal blocks a bad rep. Can anyone shed some light on either universal blocks or the EK block. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks
  3. Thanks for the input. So they did in fact send me V2 and I will be keeping it as it seems to be fine. Bay res would seem to be better for my case as there isn't too much room to work with, for me at least, skill wise.
  4. Hi everyone, I recently ordered the clear acrylic D5 Dual Bay Reservoir, but I was sent the D5 Dual Bay Reservoir V2. Before I send it back to get a refund and order what I wanted, I was wondering if there is a reason to actually return it. I am in contact with the retailer that I purchased the reservoir from and he informed me that the acrylic one has had a recall because of leaking. However, when I was researching which reservoir to get, I thought that I read that the V2 had problems with leaks, or was it the acrylic one they were speaking about and I just misread. If anyone has any input on what I should do or experience with either product that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  5. Unfortunately I can't be wired as of right now because of how my house is, but I plan to be in the future. My problems may have been solved the other day when Comcast called us and told us that they were getting feedback from our lines and that it would mess with the wireless the most. So once they come out and fix it I think my problems will be gone.
  6. Hi Everyone, So I was not really sure where to post this topic so I decided to just do it here. I recently replaced my families router with a Netgear N900 because our old router had poor signal and I was starting to notice bad connectivity. So after setting everything up and finally getting back to playing my games I noticed some problems that still existed. I play CS:GO mainly and what has started to happen is during the games I will have low ping and good internet connection but my game will stutter or I will rubber band sometimes. Also, at the same time the people I am playing with cannot hear me talking in RaidCall. I do not know what the problem is. Also, I just reformatted my computer to see if that may have had anything to do with it, plus I just needed to reformat. I have no idea what to do to try and figure this out, if anyone could give some suggestions or insight that would be great. Some more info: I use a Netgear N300 wireless card, the router is 3 days old. I am not sure if other computers are having trouble as my parents don't tend to notice/say anything about small stuff. The occurrences are random and sporadic. I can go a whole game without an issue or I can get back to back freezes of about 3 to 5 seconds of what seems like no internet despite perfect ping and connection. If you need more info I will try to answer any questions, not really sure if I got everything I can think of. Also, the issue did excite just before I got the new router, but it seems its gotten worst. Thanks
  7. So he will be using this for some pretty everyday things. There are a few programs that he will be using which include Quicken Tax, Rod DNA (a fly fishing rod making program) and Sketch Up 8. Other than that he will be using it for things like music, pictures and excel/word stuff. As far as budget goes $250 to $300 for both the Mobo and CPU.
  8. HI everyone, I have been building a computer for my father, but I have been stuck on the mobo and CPU. Ideally I would have him get a i5-3570k and ASUS P8Z77, but I wanted to try and save him some money but Im not sure really on where to step down to. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks
  9. Hi everyone, So I have never been very good at knowing what makes a good motherboard. I am currently building a computer for my father and I need some suggestions on a Mobo, and I plan to use an i5-3570k. Any suggestions/recommendations on a good/cheap mobo around $80 or so would be great. I am a little flexible on price. Thanks
  10. Im really looking for some cases that are smaller rather than just having an handle. I have been really looking at some slim cases from In Win.
  11. Hi everyone, So I am building a computer for my father and I am currently trying to find a case that fits his needs. He makes back and forth trips to our beach house and wants a desktop that is easily transportable (i.e. light, small and easy to carry). I am currently considering building a Mini-ITX or ATX Tower, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions that they can think of that would fit this criteria. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  12. I was looking into get a CM Storm QuickFire TK but also I was curious about getting it with brown switches. However, I can't find anywhere online that sells the brown switches. If anyone knows of a place to get it that would get greatly appreciated.
  13. I am trying to plan out my build and I was going to put two fans in the front panel of my C70 but I am not sure whether to get Corsair AF or SP. There is a filter in front of the fan slots, but not sure how much it will really affect things. Thanks
  14. Yea I saw the build and was really concerned about how it would mess with the fan, but I decided to get some input. I will probably not go with painting a fan because of the fact that it could increase noise, which is not what I want at all.
