  1. I got the error this morning when I booted up my PC: Was not doing anything other than the usual gaming last night. Initially it was just the USB device error. I tried unplugging all the external USB devices (mouse and keyboard) and then tried removing the case USB and AIO USB from the MOBO and the error was still there. I followed the guides on the issue: https://appuals.com/fix-usb-device-over-current-status-detected/ and tried to update my bios using a USB stick and cleared the CMOS and changed the battery. Now there is another error with "please enter setup to recover BIOS setting". I tried hitting F1, F2, del, F11 and it just does not go into the BIOS. I used another kb with all the USB ports but still could not get in. I thought it might be the problem with the ports but I checked all of them and they look fine and the kbs do light up when the PC starts up for all the ports. Need help for both issues. Thanks in advance! Specs: MOBO: Asus ROG Maximus Hero IX CPU: i7-7700k GPU: Gigabyte 2070 Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB 16GB AIO: NZXT Kraken x52 PSU: Corsair CX600M
  2. That is something I was hoping to avoid. Would it possible to do a fix myself? The issue persists even without the ports plugged in. Ya. I also tried applying pressure on the side of the monitor where the line is but it doesn't even budge.
  3. So my monitor is having this issue that there is a purple vertical line on the left side of my screen. I plugged this into both my desktop and my laptop and the problem still exists. It's even there when there is nothing plugged in as in the picture: I tried updating the drivers but everything is up to date and used the reset on the monitor but the problem is still there. The monitor is an LG 27UD68-P. I just turned it on one day and this happened. My thought is that its the LCD panel that's the problem but I want to get another opinion before I send it in for repair or try to fix it myself. Any ideas and solutions? Thanks!
  4. Its fine. I'll try to open it up the next few days and see if I can find anything that might be of help. Thanks again!
  5. Problem is there is nothing on screen. Its just blank when I boot it up.
  6. Its alright. I think it has a dedicated one and an integrated one. This is the spec sheet: https://www.sony.com.sg/electronics/support/laptop-pc-vpc-series/vpcse17gg/specifications
  7. I'm not quite sure I understand the reasoning behind this. To clarify, what happened and what I did was: 1. Laptop showed signs of breakdown. 2. I reset Windows. 3. Windows still not doing well. 4. Laptop starts up with battery/numlock lights on but screen is empty. 5. Swapped laptop ssd (~2 years old) with my current desktop's ssd, still the same problem. 6. Reformatted laptop ssd and did clean Windows 10 install. 7. Ran laptop ssd on desktop and it works fine. 8. Plugged laptop ssd back into laptop and the problem is still there. Was this what you understood from my original post? I just want to make sure that I am getting my point right.
  8. So I reinstalled everything again on another computer and its still the same problem. Laptop powers on but screen is just blank.
  9. Ok. I'm still trying but i reformatted the laptop SSD and reinstalled windows on it but the laptop screen is just blank. I hear the fan spin a bit then it slows down (its usually louder than it is now). Will keep this post updated.
  10. Yes. It happened before last year but after a fresh install everything was peachy again so I thought it might be the same solution this time too.
  11. Alright I'll try it out again.
  12. I used a working ssd from my desktop on my laptop and its the same result. Wouldn't the problem be on the laptop hardware instead?
  13. So my SONY Vaio VPCSE17GG finally died on me yesterday. It started to have short freezes here and there in the beginning and then decided to freeze on me completely. I reinstalled windows 10 but it was laggy and froze on me even after 2 reinstalls. After I restarted the screen showed no OS found and after a couple more restarts the screen is just blank. I swapped the SSD on my laptop with my working PC one and the laptop screen is still blank. I'm guessing it should be a hardware issue since the laptop is 6.5 years old. I'm hoping to fix it at least so I dont have to get a new one. Any ideas on what might be the problem or something I can try? Anything helps. Thanks!
  14. As titled, I tried googling and looking through the forums but couldn't find any solutions or even problems related to this. Maybe I'm doing this wrong. Below is my build: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero Intel i7-7700k GTX 980 ti Windows 10 Pro I have the Intel AC 7260 Wireless adapter with bluetooth. Wifi is spikey sometimes but bluetooth just doesn't seem to work. It is not even appearing on device manager. I connected the 4-pin female to the male front panel connector on the motherboard like the instructions below but Windows is still not detecting it. I checked the BiOS and bluetooth is enabled in the "on device" tab. I tried just installing the driver but nothing happened after launching the application. This was the same problem when I was using a z97a asus motherboard as well. Help?
  15. I don't know if I have a Microsoft account. So do I just create one, reformat and have everything loaded with my account and then sell it off?
