Mate can hear my PC sounds in Skype with new GPU installed
Suoerz replied to Suoerz's topic in Troubleshooting
I updated every crucial driver with MSI Live Update, even BIOS to 2.7 the most recent. My mate can still hear it faintly but some other ones in skype can't hear anything. -

I did not find anything to do with Front Audio in the BIOS. I was with the mate in Skype when I set everything to 0 and Skype toned out with "Front" instead of "Rear black in" which the headset is connected through my keyboard in. (tried directrly in back port no change) -

Headset is 3.5mm jack, not USB. Both Skype and Windows only show one available option. "Mic in at rear panel (black)/Headset" in Windows and "Mic in at rear panel (Black) (Realtek High Definition Audio)/Headset (Realtek High Definition Audio)" in Skype. -
Hello. So I got my new MSI GTX 970 4G today and when I installed it and joined Skype with my friend he says he can hear my music and PC sounds. (I tried starting and pausing a few times and he picked it up, so he's not being an ass) Audio quality is also different since the new GPU. I've had this problem before, but with headsets. The SteelSeries Raw Prism was the latest one, and I swapped it for a HyperX Cloud and no problems at all. Before I had the 970 I had a 560-ti as back-up cause my 270X died. During those two graphics cards there were no problems at all other than the Prism headset. When I listen to my mic in windows and play music at the same time I can't hear any sounds that've echoed through the mic, all as normal, but he can hear it in Skype. The case with the Prism was that I could hear everything if I listened to the mic and it would echo out of control to a just a high pitch beep until I turned it off. This is incredibly annoying as I play a lot of CSGO and I don't want to pester my teammates (5 pre-made) with in-game sounds and I don't want to use push-to-talk in Skype. ---- Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit i5-4690k 4.2 GHz Corsair Vengeance 8GB MSI Z97 Gaming 3 - BIOS 2.0 (Was unable to flash to 2.2 and haven't tried since for fear of bricking it.) I'm at 4.4Ghz with 1.175v at the moment. Stresstest for 10 min shook it up to ~68-70c. Going to try and settle at 4.4 and back the voltage a little bit! Only got a Hyper Evo 212 at the moment, maybe going to get H80i later.

If it's on the button the top left glows red. This is just the default setting. It should be off when OC'ing As I said, didn't do anything when using keyboard and hitting enter. Says unlocked but isn't

Just tried it. Didn't work either.

The thing is that only options inside "[ ]" are clickable. Can't click CPU Ratio with mouse and change it from auto to manual. Will try that!

I can't overclock my 4690k! About two weeks ago I got the 4690k and MSI Z97 Gaming 3 (was a bundle) I started off with the stock Intel fan as I was tired from removing my old mobo and putting this one in. Re-installed windows to my boot drive and went on my way. As I got my new optical drive today I figured why not put in the Evo 212 cooler at the same time and then I can start to OC. Install everything fine and booted into the bios and went to overclock but it seems I can't change the multiplier on the chip. Then I remebered I still have the stock bios version (v2.0) so I go and download the latest (v2.3) and update it. Pop it in the usb and reboot to bios again and use the m-flash and do it. Went to 100% then the pc just stayed with a blank screen for ca 5 minutes until I rebooted manually. Got into the bios, still reads v2.0 and the 4690k is still locked. What gives? I'm quite afraid I'll brick the mobo if I try to update the bios again. In the patch notes for the v2.2 BIOS it says "Adjust OC Genie setting to have better performance with Haswell-Refresh K and processors."Should I try that one instead?
