  1. @Silentsoul I'm sorry for reviving an old thread, but I had to ask. Do you think this monitor would be great for gaming if picked for cheap? (say $370) I wish I had found your review before I made the purchase (kinda late to turn it back now). But was wondering, since it seemed like you have had such a bad experience with it.
  2. So, my PC will soon be 9 years old, and I was thinking maybe I could upgrade it's CPU to squeeze the last bit of life out of my motherboard, I've got an EVGA x58 SLI LE motherboard (luckily enough, it's a rev. 2 which supports Xeon processors out of the box). I saw on ebay an x5690 Xeon for $100, and thought it was actually really cheap, so I went and bought it. Since I don't plan on switching platforms any time soon, (I'm still in college, expecting to get a job next year), I thought it was a good idea, but after searching and reading a bit more, it might bottleneck a GTX 1060 (which I'm planning to get next year, since 1080p still seems good to me, I'm currently sitting on a GTX 960), I'm starting to have my doubts. Have any of you owned/upgraded to a x5690 before? Have you encountered any potential issues/bottlenecks? How's the overclocking (air cooled)?
  3. Gigabyte. Although I've heard Zotac has improved their GPU quality. Be my guest.
  4. Firstly, I would like to request a Monitor response time video on Techquickie (Just searched for it). Now on to my question. I just made a thread about looking for a monitor with low response time, most of the replies said that response time didn't matter at all, and others even replied it was just marketing, but really... If low response time doesn't matter, then what does it mean to have a fast monitor, regardless of resolution, refresh rates and G/Free-sync technologies. Please explain, because I'm so confused now.
  5. 1440p, IPS panel, G-Sync, and 1ms response time.

  7. No, history is something that already happened, but it can be relative. Since, in the quote the author stood him/herself in the 90s (future), and then looked back. Thus refering to history. But yeah @samcool55's answer is pretty accurate.
  8. Is it a non-reference cooler? Is your room warm? Is it always running hot like that? Although I wouldn't call 60s° C hot, but healthy. At least for where I live.
  9. Could you tell us if it still keeps crashing after reinstalling the OS? It could be your GPU, but just to be sure. I think it could also be your drivers.
  10. Does anyone know similar channels like Proximity, AirWaveMusicTV, SuicideSheep, etc... But for metal?
