  1. I'll have a go, I would like to find out if those temps Linus has are max or averaged ones though.
  2. Hrmm any ideas how Linus got his 4790K up to 4.8GHz with temps at 65 deg? (I should probably be more concerned with the Voltage at 1.3 rather than the speed). As seen here: http://youtu.be/QBfXruwe8w4?t=10m42s Or maybe I've understood something the wrong way.
  3. These are completely stock. Just XMP enabled for my Ram sticks. Since this thread has been answered, I started this http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/275483-i7-4790k-under-kraken-x61-with-high-load-temperatures/
  4. So I ran AIDA64 for about 10 minutes and the stupid temps decided to show their face. Anyone else getting these sort of results even with such a capable cooling solution? I'm running the CPU at stock settings with XMP enabled on my Corsair Vengeance 1600 RAM sticks. (2x8GB) System Specs: CPU: i7-4790K Mobo: Asus Ranger VII RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 2x8Gb 1600MHz Case: Corsair Obsidian 450D CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken x61 PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 850W Gold+ GPU: EVGA GTX 780 ACX SC Storage: Intel 530 SSD 240GB Seagate SSHD 2TB
  5. I can accept this, but would these temperatures be normal under a 280mm liquid cooler? I'm not so sure.
  6. My 4790K is potentially a lot worse than yours. I couldn't get mine past 4.5 whilst keeping it below 1.3V Running it at stock and it gets up to even 75 max temp on individual cores under AIDA64. Currently being cooled by a Kraken x61 so I really didn't expect this. Maybe I'm missing something but this does seem awfully poor.
  7. Perhaps... But the new one was purchased by me so I know it's actually real. Either way, it now does seem to be fixed as I've had no further issues.
  8. Made sure I was running this BIOS setting and it was auto set to ACHI. Thanks for all the advice, I've installed windows again, this time from a genuine source and it seems to be going smoothly as of the hour I used it last night. If I have any more issues I will be back! (sooner rather than later >.<)
  9. Will give it a go, hopefully it's just a software issue
  10. So I decided to build my own PC last weekend and since I've had Windows 7 64 bit (Not OEM) running I've been having issues with the PC. A brief description of the problem: So I'll be using the Pc and sometime as short as 5 minutes up to a few hours in, programs become unresponsive, wont launch and the wireless adapter becomes unusable. My current system specs are as follows: CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K with stock cooler Mobo: Asus Ranger Maximus VII (Z97 Chipset) RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 1600mHz 16 Gb (2x8Gb DIMMS in Slots 2/4 for Dual channel support) GPU: EVGA GTX 780 ACX SC PSU: EVGA 850W SuperNOVA G2 Gold Network adapter: Asus PCi-E AC68 (Magnetically mounted on top of the case) Storage: Intel 530 SSD 240gb Seagate SSHD 3.5" 2Tb Case: Corsair Obsidian 450D (not that this should matter) Optical Drive: LG Blu-ray reader, DVD RW Things I have tried/notable items: Malbytes Anti-Malware Free version- No Results Super Anti-Spyware Free version- No Results Avast! Free version is installed BurnInTest v8 tests - No hardware issues chkdsk - No errors mdsched (2 Passes) - No errors Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've tried to troubleshoot this myself for about 4-5 days so far with no success. Also, if I have missed any information at all, please let me know. Thanks for any help you're able to give!
