  1. Long time viewer, first time getting involved by posting. The one thing I hope is that this company creates more time for itself by lessening the workload. I enjoy the videos but the concerns raised are valid. I don't think it's fair to dismiss the concerns that LTT leaves up inaccurate data or that the crunch sacrifices accuracy. You know more than almost anyone the tail of a video, and how any corrections made after a day or two will not be seen and will not reach the original viewers. It is fair of you to ask time in order to create rock solid processes as the lab develops and as the new CEO beds himself in, and it is fair of you to ask for leniency. In the meantime however, I think it is fair of us to ask you to be more aggressive in taking down misleading or inaccurate data when it's noticed or called out. I don't think it would be fair to have it both ways. Short term profitability must be a lower priority than long term accountability and trust. Linus, please consider a statement with more specifics regarding the standards and processes in future content. It doesn't have to be framed as drama or back and forth with Steve. Not talking about this outside of the forum is a classic large company PR move of letting the bad press die down. Talking about it will cause you short term hardship by shining a brighter light on it, but if executed well enough will increase your core audience's trust in you. Long term, Labs/LTT needs to have a published set of standards and processes, which will be helpful for employees to follow and viewers to have trust in. I don't expect that to arrive overnight, but it must arrive by the time the Labs website goes live. P.S. To the people in this thread acting childish or taking sides like the issue is black and white, touch grass and grow up.
  2. Well the senn cables are about 10 feet long - I don't need the entire 10 feet but at the moment I have the cable managed to the right sitting length and I have to take my headphones off to reach behind me or around the desk. Something with variable length between 3 feet and 6-8 feet from my dac would be perfect. Bluetooth kinda sucks and I already spent money on really good quality audio. If there was a solution like logitech's wireless mouse wifi with no latency but high enough bandwidth I would be open to it. Maybe Bluetooth in 5 years can get there.
  3. Thanks for checking. I might just have to get adapters which sucks a little cuz I'd have to adapt 6.35mm to 3.5mm and then 3.5mm to senns proprietary plug. I don't enjoy seeing cables so I probably won't do the keyboard coil thing that's trendy right now.
  4. I've spent about 20 minutes and I can't find anything. I just want a tape measure recoil but for relatively thick aux cables. I have Sennheisers and they come with absurdly long cables, but that length has its use, sometimes. There seems to be nothing available for me to attach my headphone cable to retract it when I put them away and allow extending when I move further out. Disassembling a tape measure also seems tricky. A mouse bungee doesn't allow length adjustments in the same way. The only products I found were made for earbuds or chargers with thin cables. I guess I could take one of those Recoil automatic cord winders and cut the housing to make more room but that might be structural and I also don't currently have an angle grinder or saw.
  5. Thanks for the reply, Which motherboard would you recommend that has a black and white color scheme and isn't $200+?
  6. As title says, my friend is installing her old rx 580 into a brand new system that has a 3900x in an msi x570-a pro mobo. There is no video output from the graphics card, the fans never start spinning. The cpu doesn't have any video output so we can't really check that to see if the system posts, and she doesn't have another discrete gpu to plug in. The fans on the cpu cooler do spin, and the Corsair rgb lights up just fine. She says she checked all the power cables to be securely plugged in, and she tried the other pcie slot, even tried a riser cable to make sure there's no clearance issues preventing the card from going in all the way. Is it possible the card is locked to Dell's motherboard?
  7. The thermals on this card have been out of control recently, hitting 99 degrees in csgo consistently without any oc. So I took it apart to apply some liquid metal and I noticed it's silver. I don't want to destroy an aluminum heat plate with liquid metal but it's the only thermal paste I have on me atm. One random guy on the internet said it's nickel plated copper but there's no official information I can find on this topic from msi or written reviews. Please help.
  8. Reinstalling made it worse, as now I have an older version of Shadowplay (without the overlay) and it doesn't even let me turn it on. Interestingly enough the GFE is newer slightly (had .49 now it's .55) So I'll have to say goodbye to the minimal FPS impacts and ease of use. Oh well.
  9. I'm running Windows 10 N on a GTX 770 with the Media Pack update installed (kb3010081). I've tried drivers, reinstalls, redoing directory and hotkeys, restarting the services, and ofc the media pack that fixes everyone's problem when they use N editions. Originally I had done the update from 8.1 to 10 but that had some problems so I reinstalled 10 from scratch with full format (problems unrelated) Here is what happens. When I start recording, the mic icon and the video icon show up. Mic is good, video has the red slash. The directory is good and my HDD has tons of space. Sometimes I'll even get the video icon to be green but no files ever show up anywhere (and the "gallery" stays empty). In the overlay options menu, I cannot turn on video recording, the option is unclickable. I've tried recording with and without desktop recording, in fullscreen and windowed and borderless to no avail. No files are ever created out of any situation. Tried several games and desktop and none of them work. At this point should I just get dxtory or something?
  10. Basically, the whiter the picture, the dimmer the TV backlight gets. This is the complete opposite of the problem I saw in search results, where it dims in dark scenes. I've tested this by resizing browser window on google or reddit. Both, PC and cable, HDMI inputs have this issue, though it's a little less noticeable with TV because you won't have a fully white screen. Didn't test component cable input. TV model is 60PN5300, a discontinued 60" plasma. I checked every single setting everywhere, but to no avail. I also connected it directly to the outlet instead of the surge protector (if somehow it didn't get enough power) but that made no difference. No pics or vid because phone is broken
  11. You assumed correctly, it just hangs off the end. When you say insulate, do you mean the ends from the outside or the ends from each other?
  12. If I rip out the molex will the 3 pin connector still work? It might seem strange but I'm redoing my cables and to fit my fan cable through a small hole I need to remove the molex.
  13. I've got a couple of invites, they expire in 5 days. Reply to have your name entered in a drawing. **Get 5-10 extra drawings by including a picture of your current shitty phone, exact number depending on shittiness. Include proof it's yours.** Replies posted after 48 hours will not be part of the drawing.
