  1. Hi I just bought a used R9 Fury X to replace my sli 780’s and I can’t get it to work. Old card I know but with sli being pretty much dead I figured the fury x would be an upgrade. The card lights up etc but I get no display and the board shows error 62. I have tried it in 2 pcie slots the same thing happens. I installed it alongside one of my 780’s for display output and it shows up in the bios. I7 4790k Asus ROG Maximus 6 Hero 32GB Kingston hyper X memory Corsair AX860i thanks
  2. EDIT Thanks for your input guys I went on a laptop and re formatted the USB stick and put a different bios on it and it’s now booting, thankfully lol not to sure what happened but I was bricking it even if the board wasn’t!
  3. I just tried to update the bios on my Asus Maximus VII Hero and now when I turn the computer on it displays the code 06 and nothing displays on the monitor. All I did was download the bios file, put it on a USB stick and rename it M7H.CAP, shut down the machine, inserted it into the USB next to the flashback button and then pressed it. Unsure how I’ve managed to mess this up and I’m praying I haven’t bricked it somehow. thanks
  4. It’s a Swift PG278Q I bought back when I built the rig in 2014 I’m not sure about hz? Would you say my 780’s aren’t enough for this monitor anyway then? Seems to run ok
  5. I currently have 2 Asus Direct CUII GTX 780’s in my rig which is a 4790k/Maximus VII Hero/32gb DDR3. I am planning to upgrade my 450D to something more modern plus try some RGB and use that case for a secondary machine. I want to go for the vertical GPU look and I have heard SLI is gradually being phased out so it might be time to sell the 780’s and go single GPU. What single GPU would be a nice upgrade to 2 780’s? It has to be Nvidia as I have a ROG Swift G-Sync 1440p monitor.
  6. Thanks for that, there are 4 ram slots on both boards. The case is super narrow so I’m not sure I could get a GPU to fit or even a different PSU. I think both have a core 2 duo but the Optiplex one is faster.
  7. I am currently using my old Core 2 Duo laptop for Zwift (indoor cycling game) and it does ok but due to hideous amounts of overheating and new thermal paste not curing it I’ve had to hack holes in the base of the laptop and run it with the top half of the case removed entirely. The battery is also ruined and the AC adapter connection is pretty loose... coupled with the fact the on board AMD graphics are a massive pain to keep working on Windows 10 with the legacy drivers I’ve had enough. Seeing as this is all I will use a replacement for I don’t want to spend to much. I have been given these 2 old Dell PC’s both I think are Core 2 Duo and components from this era are basically throw away cheap so I was wondering if there is anything I can do with them for this task, super ghetto build. One is a Dell Inspiron 530s and the other is a Dell Optiplex 755. Which is the better if any for me to use? What’s the best CPU etc I can use for these and what graphics card would be suitable if I can even run one. I think from what I have read the board in the Inspiron only supports 4gb ram but people have successfully run 8gb in the past but that’s all I could really find out I guess they aren’t exactly a desirable PC for anything lol I can use the SSD from my failing laptop. I understand I will possibly need a new case and power supply to achieve this. I want to try and pursue this if possible but if it’s not going to be what cheap as chips build could I do for this task instead. I want to run it the best I can without spending more than very little lol System requirements for Zwift https://support.zwift.com/hc/en-us/articles/203193315-What-are-the-minimum-device-requirements-for-Zwift-?mobile_site=true
  8. Thanks, I just tried another USB same result unfortunately. I hate this keyboard to be honest the lighting has never worked properly and it seems like if I'm not just being a noob it may be at fault?
  9. I just fired up my PC and it's decided there isn't a keyboard there and it's fair to say there is! I haven't used it for a few weeks but it worked fine last time I used it, there's a good chance I'm missing something glaringly obvious but literally nothing has changed since I last booted it up I have checked it's all plugged in etc. I have attached a pic of the startup screen which says 2 mice for some reason, the keyboard (corsair K95 RGB) is lit up as pictured but it just seems to cycle through different colour modes the rainbow one pictured is what it usually does when the power is on but not the PC. Vety frustrating to say the least.
  10. Not really sure what section this should go in to be honest but this printer is doing my head in. I have an Epsom XP-820 printer and I want to print a photo off my iPhone onto A4. Every time I try it tries to print out of "cassette 1" which is for smaller paper and not "cassette 2" which is where the A4 goes. I have tried everything and it's just not having it it's driving me mad! Am I just being an idiot or is this not possible? Cheers
  11. Thanks I have ended up with a pretty unecassary amount of ram because of it though which seems to bug people lol No is this a bad thing? Being a noob means all my fans are probably setup pretty dumb. I really wanted Ti's but I couldn't afford it as it was getting ridiculous without them, even the 2 780's are probably overkill for me anyway to be honest. I got a black SLI bridge with the board but it wasn't long enough to to clear the fan shroud on the cards so I was forced to use the longer one that came with the cards. Yeah I did all that but it didn't really make any difference, it's fine until you load it up with something strenuous. It's the first time I have had a decent moniter and it is truely awesome! I have put this build on a couple forums and somebody always comments on that R32 lol Thanks I need to spend more time using it now as I have been struggling to find the time, forza horizon 2 on xbox one has taken my pc time for the past couple weeks which I guess is sacrilege on this forum lol
  12. You can probably imagine my joy when that turned up looking like it does lol
  13. To be honest I'm really not that into red I wanted a blue and black build but lack of choice forced me to go red
  14. its been a while since I updated this as I just haven't had the time so here's some more pics (unfortunately they are crappy iPhone pics) Ugly SLI bridge Also this beauty arrived Initially it messed me about a little but then I updated the drivers and it works perfect now really fast aswell This really bugs me they cover up so much!
  15. Thanks! And yes it's man lol I got a smaller black one with the mobo but it doesn't clear the plastic on the graphics card, it's pretty annoying as I hate the one I've had to use!
