Okay will do! But do you think that this will be the reason for the 100% usage a lot of the time?
-
I did that yesterday! I've just put on the stock cooler, will buy a h100i soon i guess

Perhaps rad was the wrong word, it looks very similar to this: http://i1-news.softpedia-static.com/images/news2/Deepcool-s-Gammaxx-400-CPU-Cooler-Targets-Gamers-on-a-Budget-2.jpg

No it's only an air cooler

It's a fault that isn't too popular, I picked it up from PC World when I was building my PC a few years ago. It has a rad and looks quite similar to most CPU coolers.

I will test that shortly, and let you know!

I have tried to overclock but the system overheats, I even reapplied thermal paste but it made no real difference...

I have updated the main post

Hey everyone, I have been having a total nightmare recently, and have posted on hundreds of websites but haven't found a solution. I need your help! I recently purchased an R9 390 Gigabyte SOC card to upgrade my system from a 7850 2GB, and was super excited once it arrived. I had quite a few issues getting the card to work with my system, but after flashing the BIOS it was all fine. Now I am having some serious issues with performance. Games that are easy to run, i.e. Rocket League, Dota, League of Legends etc, all run perfectly fine, but with some odd GPU usage amounts, often sitting at around 20% but then sitting at 100% for a minute or two. The real killer is GTA V. I know that the game has been performing weirdly under its new patches, and has issues in general, but I should be able to run it well. But I can't. I have found a way to get 60fps constant, but my system acts so weirdly all the time whilst playing. The GPU sits at 0-10% then spikes at 100%, and the CPU sits constantly at 100% (Screenshot here, taken just after closing the game http://i.imgur.com/qV8m0pU.png (The AMD Overdrive is not always at 50%, I just tested it once)). My entire system seems to be performing weirdlt and I don't know what to do to solve it. Is my CPU bottlenecking the whole system? is the card broken? I really hope you guys can help me, any info you need to help I am more than willing to provide! Full specs are: MOBO: Gigabyte Z77-D3H GPU: R9 390 Gigabyte SOC CPU: i5-3570k @ 3.6Ghz (System performs when both at normal and overclock) RAM: 8GB Thanks, George!

I went with the Gigabyte 390 SOC, and I just have a horrible feeling my CPU is holding me back. The i5-3570k should be more than fine to deal with gaming, and whilst I was just playing GTA both my CPu and GPU were at 100%...

See that's what I should be getting! There must be something up with my system because it's up to the task in terms of power!
-
Will do. How does your system run the game? We have fairly similar systems, so it would be interesting to know how your pc is running it

Well on mostly high settings with no MSAA and no advanced graphics enabled, but with grass on normal and no tessellation, I am only just about getting 60fps constant, with dips down to 50fps. I was expecting easy constant 60fps on high, and have seen it is possible through many YouTube videos. 8GB Ram! Yeah I'm gonna reapply thermal paste to see if that makes a difference, perhaps my CPU is overheating. I have 8GB ram, and should I OC the card?

Hey guys, So recently I upgraded my GPU from a 7850 2GB to a GIGABYTE R9 390, but I'm not getting the performance I was expecting. My parts are: MOBO: Z77-D3H CPU: i5-3570k @ 3.40GHz (Has been overclocked before) PSU: CX 600W I have read a lot of optimisation and benchmark guides, and my CPU should be more than capable to deal with GTA and other games, but I feel it is holding me back. Is there a way I can check if my CPU is holding me back? Has anyone else had issues like this? I'm more than happy to elaborate about anything, just ask! I hope you guys can help me. I'm losing the will to live here!!!!
