  1. Hi guys, I'm having a little problem which I haven't encountered so far and I hope you guys can at least point me into a direction to solve this. This problem startead appearing about 3 weeks ago and it's causing my first thread in my 4770K CPU (which has been automatically overclocked from the Asus UI of my motherboard - BIOS, selected Performance profile), while watching Youtube. This occurs sometimes (ocasionally) and it affects the sound played back from Youtube in the sense that it's like "dropping frames", the sound falls down in quality and the music stutters. When I close the Youtube tab, the spikes in Thread #1 fall back to normal. I've attached some screenshots with Task Manager where you can also see the temps of my processor and the list of processes running at the time. I have never seen this before and couldn't find anything on the web regarding this problem. I've tried restarting my PC, updating Chrome, removing all unnecessary Chrome extensions (not only disabling, fully removing them). I'd be very grateful if you guys can help me solve this. What should I check? What should I change? Thanks, Radu
  2. Ok, thanks a lot guys! This helped me make my decission easier!
  3. Can you please let me know why you wouldn't go with the CX psu?
  4. I have looked for other more popular brands, but believe it or not, they're not available in my country
  5. It's going to be a very light build to replace my father's old and dusty PC. So, nothing more than browsing the web, watching videos, creating documents etc.
  6. Hi guys, I'm calling for some help from this community as I'm looking for a recommendation that will help me decide on choosing one of these two power supplies. They're priced the same in my country (Romania) and normally I'd go for the Corsair, but I've heard that the CX-430 version has issues and broke for a lot of people. About the Segotep I can't find anything, so I'm calling for help from you guys. What power supply would you think I should go with? Have you experienced any issues with the CX-430 version? The build that I'm going to make is: - MB: Asus H81M-K - CPU: Intel Core i3-4170 - SSD: Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB SATA-III - RAM: Kingston HyperX Savage 2x4GB, DDR3, 1600MHz, CL9 - HDD: WD Blue 1TB, 7200rpm 64MB SATA-III - PSU: ? (need help here) - Case: Deepcool Tessaract BF black Any help is very much appreciated!
  7. No, actually I don't know what was wrong exactly. I took out the MB 24 pin power cable and plugged it back in and the power cord from the back of the PSU and the PC started up. Unfortunately I don't know which of these two was the cause (although I've plugged the power cord from the PSU out and back in several times). It's kind of strange for it to be just the 24 pin cable, because my case was sealed and on a table, so I couldn't have accidentally moved/hit it. I have no idea what happened.. but I'm glad it's all sorted out now. Thanks a lot for your support!
  8. The back side of the CPU case? Mine looks just like this.. and it's also one of the first things I tried
  9. Actually, nothing is working. The motherboard doesn't seem to receive any power. There's a small button with a power button on the motherboard. I've tried pressing that too and nothing happened. The CPU fan is not starting either and no case fans for that matter.
  10. Hi, I'm having some unfortunate issues with my system. I've built it a couple of months ago (3-4 months) and has worked flawlessly until last night. I've started watching some movies and fell asleep during one of them. When I woke up in the morning I didn't realise at first that the system should have been powered on and pressed the power button to start it, but nothing happened. First thing I checked, if there is power in my home, so I turned on the lights in the room (they worked). Once I've established that there is power in the house I did the following things, in order: plugged out the power cord from the back of the PC and put it back in (no change) checked the power cord with a printer (the printer powered on) removed everything else from the extension cord which my PC was connected to (monitors, speakers, lamp etc.) but still no change - mind you, my monitors and speakers are working - (powered on) removed the power cord from the extension cord and plugged it in directly into the wall power socket (still no change) I'm still trying to find a friend with a PSU I can borrow to test if mine is the issue, but if that fails I'm not sure how I can determine what else is not working. My system build has the following components: ASUS Z87 PRO V Edition motherboard Intel 4770K processor Corsair RM 850 Power Supply Unit Kingston HyperX 120GB SSD Seagate 1TB SSHD No GPU yet, so it didn't have any power load. Additional information is that for the last couple of weeks I've been randomly getting an error when powering on my system - CPU Fan error (see image below). I'm not sure how I can proceed with this. I'm a newbie at computer builds and on this forum here, so please excuse any mistakes I might have made or will make. Thanks in advance for any help!
