  1. So I have the helio 300 gaming laptop connected with a HP - OMEN by HP 24.5" LED FHD Monitor - Black. Sadly the laptop doesn't have any displayports, but was told a converter like this would help. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BXMOREI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I plugged it in, switched display advanced to 120 frames. And still only getting 60 fps??
  2. I would be very happy if I could go from 60hz to 120hz, so what do I need?
  3. I have the helios 300 laptop with a 144 hz monitor. Sadly no ports that will support 120hz or higher frame rates. Is there an adapter that will work around that, or am I stuck?
  4. Sorry not familiar with iGPU or dGPU, what's the difference and how can I tell?
  5. So trying to get better at R6S. So I have a gaming laptop with a 13 inch screen and a 27 inch omen gaming monitor connected to it. Always figured it would be better to play on a slightly bigger screen, but I wonder if it would be better to play on the smaller screen? Thoughts?
  6. Yeah, and only when I'm gaming? I don't know hot to describe it, but it feels like I'm not playing in full screen mode, so my inputs on my laptop is being affected on my first screen as well.
  7. So I've started playing R6S recently, I play it on my gaming laptop, but I use a second screen as the screen where I play the game. Sometimes I notice when I'm playing the game is acting up like I"m pressing other buttons when I'm not really. I notice the first screen on my laptop is also acting up, which shouldn't be happening since I'm playing on full screen mode. The worst is when it brings me randomly to the desktop screen. Any idea what I can do about this?
  8. Our IT guy is out today. When one of our guys tired to log into their computer, they were able to turn it on, enter their password, but then the screen went completely black and they only could see and move the cursor. Ctrl alt delete didn't do anything. I was able to make something appear with pressing shift a lot, the screen came on after a few seconds, but I wasn't sure if it was related. Someone else is now reporting the same thing. Any ideas how to fix?
  9. Are videos like this still necessary for new gaming laptops? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KFc6l8jrVs&t=1s Getting the helios 300 today, and was wondering if there's anything special I have to do first to make sure the laptop runs smoothly.
  10. I frequently have to send large files to people in China and today I needed to send a video. https://www.sendfiles.net/seemed to work pretty well, but has anyone else used it? Is it safe?
  11. Oh okay. Thank you for letting me know. Yeah it seems to get the job done, since I can access the website, and I don't think the IT person will mind.
  12. Just curious on people's thoughts on it? I need to use something of the sort to access a website from another country for work, and Opera comes with a vpn. Is opera considered a trusted source? Mentioned it to a friend who said he use to use it until it was sold to a "shady" Chinese company.
  13. Yeah the stuff I need it for is so much less important then that. Honestly just made this post out of curiosities sake. But thanks for the help!
  14. Okay thank you very much for the detailed explanation and everything else!
  15. Can I still keep the vpn, private internet access, on my nexus 6p phone?
  16. It's no big deal, I'll figure something out, or just do a bit of work at home. Don't want to cause trouble, and I was simply curious. Just curious would I still be fine with using the vpn, private internet access, on my nexus 6p phone?
  17. Let's just say this location is blocked, and other places in the country aren't.
  18. It's 100% work related. I edited the reason into the post above.
  19. Oh okay thanks for the explanation, and I edited the reason into above. So it's just an antivirus thing?
  20. So I wanted to install a VPN at the work computer at the office. But our IT person says I can't. When I asked why, he said because "he said so" Just curious, what hypothetical problems could actually exist for him to not want me to? Is there any harm? edit: Need a VPN to access company website in a different region of the world, our location is blocked, and works only if I say I'm at a different location. Tried using private internet access with my phone and it works. edit2: Also should I get rid of the VPN on my phone then?
