  1. How is the gtx 1070 gigabyte G1 Gaming in terms of fan noise, coil whine, etc.? I ordered one and it'll be going in a Corsair 230T case. Was curious on how loud the card would be inside the case and if there are issues with coil whine.
  2. Yeah I guess your right. The only way to find out is to wait for the card.
  3. Thanks. Unfortunately I waited too long and the sale was gone at newegg. Amazon still has a sale but it's out of stock for the MX blue switches. However I did find one on this site: http://www.avadirect.com/KM780R-Series-RIPJAWS-KM780R-MX-Red-LED-Illumination-Cherry-MX-Blue-Switch-6-Macro-Keys-Wired-USB-Black-Retail-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard/Product/10866869 But I haven't heard of this site before. Do happen to know anything about this site? Im just hoping think it is a new, unopened product.
  4. Thanks, let me know if you hear anything with yours. I'm just on edge because there's a lot of reports of the G1 having cool whine whereas there are much fewer reports of coil whine in say, the MSI Gaming X 1070.
  5. So I ordered a build recently with an i7 6700k and a Gigabyte Gtx 1070 G1 Gaming. But looking at the reviews, I saw that many people are reporting issues of the card having bad coil whine. I seem to be getting so dam unlucky when ordering parts. There always seems to be a problem with one of my parts I swear. My card hasn't arrived yet but does anyone with a Gigabyte G1 Gaming Gtx 1070 experience coil whine?
  6. So this will be my first high end gaming build with a i7 6700k and GTX 1070. I want to experience the most out of it and I'm torn between a Cherry MX blue or red keyboard. I researched a little about them but I've been hearing that MX blues are not that good for gaming especially in games where you double tap, etc. But at the same time, I really like the clicky sound of blues. MX reds are said to be more preferred for gaming but I don't like how there is no feeling of when you know the key is actually being registered. With MX blues however, I also don't like not being able to double tap properly which is important when sprinting in most games, etc. I don't know which to go for.
  7. Oh and do you know if the g skill one has rubber feet to make it stand at an angle?
  8. Oh thanks! I really like the clicky sound so I guess I'll go with blue.
  9. It's no problem :). I should have looked in to it more before I ordered. I was in a rush cause cyber Monday and what not.
  10. Thanks! So I don't really have an idea between cherry red, blue etc. or what they really mean. Is there a certain switch I want?
  11. Is there a mechanical keyboard around the same price with a wrist rest?
  12. Yeah I just talked to them through customer service. They issued me a RMA label and an advanced refund. Amazing customer support. I'm really impressed.
  13. So I ordered the GTX 1070 Gigabyte Windforce edition but I found out it has no backplate. My order already shipped and when I try to get a refund through the site it says: According to our records, this item is still covered by the product manufacturer's labor warranty. According to our records, this item is still covered by the product manufacturer's labor warranty. This item is not eligible for a refund. I wanted to get the G1 Gaming instead. Am I screwed?
  14. Oh ok. Can you help me confirm it's A2/B2 (slot 2 & 4)? Here is the manual: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1151/Z170_PRO_GAMING_AURA/E11776_Z170_PRO_GAMING_AURA_UM_WEB_only.pdf?_ga=1.251129294.998272150.1480463392 Go to Section 1.4.2 and it shows memory configurations there.
  15. Oh ok. I see that the DIMM slots are labeled A1/A2 and B1/B2. So for dual channel it's A2/B2?
  16. So what slots am I supposed to put my RAM in for the dual channel to work?
  17. So I ordered an Asus Z170 Pro Gaming Aura mobo and just saw that all of the ram slots are colored the same black color. Does this mean that this mobo doesn't support dual channel RAM? The Asus Z170 Pro Gaming (Non-aura) has different colored RAM slots so I'm not sure why the Aura board doesn't. If it does support dual channel RAM, which slots am I supposed to put the RAM sticks in?
  18. Ah I see. There actually is a monitor I'm looking at which is AOC G2460PF which has Free Sync but there is the monitor that is AOC G2460PQU which doesn't have Free Sync and is $50 more expensive. I'm confused as to why it's more expensive, maybe you may have an idea?
  19. Dang, well it looks like I'm going 1080p 144hz then.
  20. So I ordered this build yesterday: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KBmkWX But I haven't ordered the monitor yet. I was wondering if there is a monitor that is 144hz 1440p and has G-Sync for around $300? I'm running a gtx 1070 and i7 6700k so I think a monitor like this would be beneficial. But if I can't find one for around $300, then I'll just go with the AOC G2460PQU which is 1080p 144hz.
  21. I ordered this build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KBmkWX I'm looking for a decent keyboard and mouse to go along with it, but I'm not looking to spend more than $100 for both mouse and keyboard combined. Can someone recommend me a keyboard and mouse please?
  22. So this is the build I ordered: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bhk6pb However, I read some negative reviews about the monitor so I cancelled the monitor. I'm looking to game at 1080p at 144Hz. Im deciding between the AOC G2460PQU and AOC G2460PF. I know the PF has Free Sync but I have a GTX 1070 so it's no use to me. What confuses me is that the G2460 PQU doesn't have freesync but it's more expensive for some reason. Is there a difference between these two monitors other than the Free Sync? And if not, why is the PQU with no Free sync more expensive?
  23. So I ordered a build with an i7 6700k, Asus Z170 Pro Gaming / Aura, and a Cryorig H7 CPU cooler. I was wondering, would I be able to overclock on this cooler and still have stable, low temps? I'm not looking for any extreme overclocking, maybe just a little for that extra performance boost. Does anyone have this same setup and would mind sharing their overclocking results?
