  1. Alright, I'll try and get them. But theoretically if my MOBO was broken, would my computer even turn on? I turned it on and there was a green LED that was on, on the motherboard that said "UEFI BIOS".
  2. At first it was overheating to the point of shutting it down, then I took it in. And they said the display wouldnt work and they couldnt figure out the issue and they gave it back. I took it to a different place and they said that my motherboard had shorted. Sorry as I said in my edit, I dont remember the specific specifics. And I took it to this other place and they said that the mothorboard was shorted out and that HDD was starting to fail. I have it with me now, and it will turn on and everything. Its just that the display wont come on through the GPU or the MOBO. I dont remember the exact specifics.
  3. Hi i've been having the worst past couple weeks with my computer. Not too long ago I reapplied the thermal paste and after that its all gone down hill. I took it to the geniuses we call the geek squad, because it was overheating like crazy (it was reseated properly). They told me that the display wasn't working and they didn't know what to with it so they gave it back. Then I took it to another place and they told me that my mother board had shorted out and that my hard drive was failing. And that it would be $700 to repair, so Im just going to get it done by a friend who builds computers. But I'm wondering if this sounds like the right problem? Because I don't see a repair like that costing that much, and I want to get this fixed asap. What do you think? EDIT: Specs: AMD Radeon 7850 Intel i4 Asus Motherboard Sorry, I dont remember anything else in any further detail.
  4. Yes, everything is seated properly.
  5. Bump...... I'm desperate.
  6. Im pretty sure the temp is accurate, I can't even stream netflix without a significant frame drop. Isopropyl alcohol, and I feel like an idiot saying this but I didnt know there was a proper way to reset it. I turned the computer off, unplugged it, and turned the power system on then went to work. It was while idol, I was getting 150 F while viewing BIOS after it being off for about 2 hours.
  7. Hello one and all, I'm a fairly experienced PC Gamer, but I'm the worst when it comes to PC Maintenance. Last week I noticed my PC temps getting up to about 90 - 95 degrees fairhenheit so I decided to get some thermal paste and re apply it and all that jazz. So last night I popped my computer open, took the CPU fan off, cleaned the old stuff off with a microfiber cloth and some alcohol and reapplied the stuff. (I didn't use any well known brand, I used "Insignia Thermal Paste" and I hope thats not the cause of this) Ever since then, the $H#T has hit the fan. I got on my computer today and the temps apparently reached up to 150 Degrees fairhenheit, I've kept it off virtually all day because of that. But a friend of mine who helped me build my computer said that it's impossible for my chip to get that hot without turning itself off, I dont know the exact name of my chip off hand, all I know is that it's an intel quad core. If you guys have any suggestions I'd greatly appreciate it because as of now my computer is inoperable.
