  1. Well, computer isn't freezing anymore so I guess solved?
  2. UPDATE: I've disabled windows update service becuase it seemed like it was trying to update while I'm supposed to be at the latest update and so far computer hasn't froze. Will keep the post updated
  3. Hello everyone, My Lenovo Y50-70 is freezing often since a couple of weeks. I am on Windows 10 1803 and things seem to be going wrong since I changed my old hard drive for an 860 evo ssd. I would do pretty much anything from gaming to watching a video locally or on YouTube and I would freeze. I could still move my mouse, but sometimes not. If audio is playing I can still hear it most of the time. What I have done: -All drivers up to date -Virus scan : nothing -Malwarebytes scan : minor things that are now quarantined -Spybot scan : worst I got were cookies -sfc /scannow : not working. Shows "windows resource protection could not perform the requested operation" even in safe mode -Ran chkdsk Also I have posted about my Chrome browser giving me "took too long to respond" on any link that is not a google research and it is still an issue. All other browsers are fine. If you want any kind of logs tell me and I'll send it, getting desperate I passed the the return date on amazon for my ssd. While writing this, my computer froze 4 times.
  4. Yesterday I got about 5 BSODs on my laptop and decided to wipe a reinstall windows, but I'm still stuck with my network issues on Chrome. Also it's working fine on Firefox too, so it's only on chrome Even uninstalling and reinstalling chrome without signing in and syncing my add-ons and bookmarks doesn't fix it
  5. I'll try Firefox, but I doubt it's an add-on since I synced from my Google account and had no issue prior to the swap and also I tried in incognito which, correct me if I'm wrong, I believe disables all add-ons and it didn't work either..
  6. Update: at the moment, internet is flawless on edge , but still nothing on chrome
  7. No problem, don't worry. I tried replacing the DNS with 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as alternate DNS, but didn't change a thing. As for what it is installed, I don't think I have a single software that I didn't have before switching my hard drive. When I'll give up, I will probably just wipe it and try to reinstall windows and see if fixes things.
  8. The reason I made this post is because my internet isn't working properly on my laptop since I swapped storage. Strange thing is I can play WoW just fine, but websites won't load.
  9. Thinking of reformatting my laptop
  10. I tried it to see if it was my onboard wireless adapter the issue. Otherwise I don't use it
  11. So i just tried disabling the LAN adapter and it seemed to work for a minute and then the problem came back. Facebook, YouTube and Reddit were working but when I tried to go on someone's channel on twitch or open a link from Facebook it wouldn't load like before. I also tried disabling everything except my TP-LINK adapter but still no dice.
  12. I haven't try to see if a cable would hold in place, but this is how it looks like.
  13. I broke the plastic thingy that's used to hold the cable in place. I'll take a picture later today when I can. Edit: what if I disable the LAN would it fix it if that's the issue?
  14. Good morning everyone, I recently acquired a new SSD to replace my dying laptop hard drive and in the process I damaged my LAN port. Since then, I have been having issues with internet. Most of the time I can't access any website no matter the browser, no matter the network I am connected to and no matter the adapter. I tried with a USB Wan adapter and it didn't work either. My laptop is a Lenovo Y50-70 with Intel AC 3160 and the USB adapter is a TP-LINK T2U. I have also tried changing my DNS to Google's, but to no avail. I also ran a scan with my antivirus, Malwarebytes and Spybot, but nothing significant was found.
  15. You guys deserves an internet high five *High-fives*
